  • In this video, we take a look at the Shaks S5b / S5i Telescopic controller for android and IOS phones.
This thing actually has analog triggers and can be used with games that don't normally support a controller like Genshin Impact by using the free Shaks app available on google play.
It might look a bit odd but this controller is not bad at all for Emulators and Android games!

I just received this in the mail today, and played on it for a few minutes. What I could say for it is that what it gives in odd because not a lot of controllers are shaped like it in other telescopic controllers, it makes it up in ergonomics both in telescopic mode with the cellphone or as a regular controller for any other devices. Overall great controller.

Variable height USB c connection would solve my biggest gripe, telescopic controllers with the phone in the middle are best for comfort as they are far better balanced. However, their biggest drawback is they are typically Bluetooth. Time has proven this to be suboptimal for controllers. Reliable connection, latency, and battery life have always been a problem.

Look at the boxy look on the handle, this is going to hurt your palm for sure if you play for a long period of time. They should have made the handle a little spherical. Can you use it as a power bank while playing? I want a controller/phone holder that can also act as a powerbank.

Oh man, the fact the controller is closed tight, that is a big deal for me because that offers the option to notch the phone in both vertical and sideways. I recently bought a "ipega red knight" with this intention and it did not notched my vertical phone in place, the phone gets loose (which defeats the point of portability). Also the overall quality is pretty awful, spongy buttons, terrible analogs, it looks fragile (so much so, I pretend to return it to the seller, the worst thing about buying blindly through aliexpress). Now this shak controller looks just as cheap as overall construction goes, but it at least give me the goddamn option to go vertical or sideways. The only negative at the naked eyes seems to be the side grips, it looks uncomfortable as hell
