I saw a lot of people saying things like this would never happen and I thought that was crazy. Working in social services you learn that ANYTHING is possible for humans.
To add on to this since everything is recorded this is something that hasn't been on the internet yet i think people let their dislike for Tyler perry shadow over A LOT@chocolatecream5593
Yesss like I wanted the storyline with him offing his dad to come full circle they kept bringing it up without showing us what happened or how Dallas got the way he did.
1:03:17 bro I think a more accurate statement would be a hypocrite. They get mad over cheating even though Ava didn’t, but they be on cheating activities
It's not always the dad. My mom and dad divorced. My mom emotionally and mentally abused me after losing custody of my brother (he was her former target after the divorce). When I started dating, for years I thought that, that abuse was normal and that it was a form of love. It took me a while to figure out not only was that not love but i deserved to be loved. Not saying her mom did that. Just saying it isn't always the "not having a father figure" that makes you vulnerable to bad men.
yo ur right ppl get their realizations in different situations of life. I wasn’t saying that’s the only way yk. Im sorry you went through that, but im glad you grew mentally from it & got stronger♥️
one thing that pissed me off as a survivor or domestic violence was the scene with her and her mama after she read the letter she goes "where did i go wrong " which like... thats weird because shes a victim doesn't matter how she was raised she could've ended up in that type of situation regardless and either way only person at fault is the abuser 😅
Dallas' friend Jim got on my nerves for not checking him and was looking stupid when Dallas tried to blow up his marriage by bringing up what he did to his wife. Jim should have had the same energy as his wife. Jim acted like he was scared of Dallas. For Clarence to be an ex-Marine, why would he confront Dallas alone? He had a gun but didn't use it nor did he hear Dallas' brothers coming up from behind.
lol this movie was crazy. And I’m glad I’m not the only one that noticed how much they go back and forth between towns. It would have been more realistic if they lived 30 minutes apart, not and hour and a half 😂
Thank you because I saw so much hate online, and decided to watch it myself, I have to say it’s one of the better movies Tyler Perry has put out in YEARS. He went back to his roots, it’s not perfect, but I enjoyed it! Reminded me of Diary of a Mad Black Woman and A family that Preys, the classic Tyler Perry blueprint!
This movie was entertaining af but I hate how none of the characters especially Dallas had any nuances. They either were 100% bad or 100% good. No explanation of how they became the person they are. I don’t even understand how a person like Ava married a person like Dallas.
This really was a typical Tyler Perry movie just pushed to the edge. Successful black woman gets divorced from an unfaithful black man. Travels home with to be with her family who doesn’t even give her a moment to FULLY HEAL. Already trying to remind her of who she was, and pushes her onto a new man (a better looking divorced man she passed on when they were younger) who ALSO goes to CHURCH. Divorces the ex because he basically has nothing, he goes crazy, starts stalking her and her friends and family. Eventually gets physical. New man gets involved. Best friend helps to get the restraining order. She stands up for herself in the end but instead of hot grits this time, there’s a gun involved. Whew boy. Where are the boondocks when you need them. The true black Simpsons. They predicted this over a decade ago. At least there was no gun toting, cross-dressing man in a dress. It would’ve made this slapstick movie a comedy.
Tyler Perry loves church because I believe he's good Christian. Good Christians loves going to church and always believe in God. They believe repentance, second chances, rebirth, atonement redemption.
This was Tyler’s best movie in a long time. Don’t care what nobody says. Also folks have to understand, you get what you get with Tyler 🤷🏾♀️. However, this movie was really good.
Crazy how throughout the whole beginning everybody's trying to convince her to leave him because he's wrong for her but when he says he wants to divorce her he's still wrong. Her best friend is trying to get her to leave him, got her nose all up in the business marriage, writing down everything he ever did to her but he's wrong for checking her at the diner table. Her parents disrespected his whole family at his brother's funeral but he's wrong for wanting to spend that night with his family instead of her. Brotha can't win for losing.
I agree this movie was so good I watched it yesterday I do wish it was a bit longer so it can hit more on his family trauma and I wish he didn’t die I wish he just went to jail and got some help. The ending felt rushed but the message was great
I Can Do Bad All By Myself with Taraji was another I can think of off top. Oh, and a wyte guy in The Family that Preys and you don't get any lighter than that 😅
Oh no, I definitely think it deserves everything. lmao The only thing I give the movie credit for is how unhinged Dallas' mother was at the funeral. Caught me off guard when she demanded for him to taken out the casket. lmao Other than that, it was pretty mid to me.
Good review 😂 inquiring minds want to know…1) how did the father get shot in the leg and beaten unconscious and in the next scene he’s propped up in the truck. He managed to drag himself and get up into a high pickup truck 2) no security/guard at the bank? 3) Dallas went behind the counter and didn’t see the shotgun that Ava all of a sudden grabbed? 4) Ava is a buck 25 and she dragged a man out the house and Bengi is just watching her? 5) I noticed the time teleportation too between Atlanta and the country. 6) how did Ava’s mother get the letter. Did Ava leave it somewhere or did moms go through her things? So much random stuff and was never explained. It was hilarious! I enjoyed this movie much better as a comedy. I laughed sooo hard 😂😂😂
This was the typical Tyler Perry movie with the woman with an abusive husband who deserves better & gets saved by a good man. Dallas is a prime example of letting your family & environment control you & hold you back. Here’s a fun fact: Megan Good & Debbi Morgan were also in Eve’s Bayou. Tyler Perry movies always get hate.
How in the world was this movie better than Mea Culpa. It was the same movie. The hurt, broken, traumatized, settling woman, the useless mama boy man feeding off of the woman, his family interfering in their marriage, and the man coming to her rescue. So what’s different. Tyler Perry writing has no nuance, no gray only black and white, no cohesiveness, no balance, no timing, no blending, no continuity and no background which are all necessary for good storytelling. Instead he just throws pieces like a puzzle out to the audience and expects us to piece it all together.

sl what do you watch the movies on
These are the type of men who are super dangerous to break up with
It's the truth
Yes I had to move to another state to get away from my daughters father 😢
Yes I struggled for a while
Trying to break up with my boyfriend
Facts, i waited years for him to leave on his terms just so he wouldnt be dangerous 😢
😂😂😂😂the Dallas point is crazy "you wanna lose ya job bish"lmfao he Def channeled his inner Ike Turner for this movie
NAH FRRRRR😂😂😂

That two finger point is sickening like stop please 😂😂😂

The preacher in the beginning was being too petty I get what he was trying to say but it’s ways to go about it than dragging them at a funeral.
The preacher was played by Richard Lawson. He’s the father of Bianca Lawson.
@@therealmarlonbellamy he was also in 1973 movie scream blacula scream too.

don’t we though😂
real bad 😂

Loving him
I failed at stopping tears from forming during the scene with Ava and her mother. "Where did I go wrong?"
Powerful scene.
The main thing I didn't like about this movie was there really wasn't a back story or flashbacks when they first meet
Right. I wanted to see the wedding. Not a clip for 10 seconds
@@miss__monique exactly

@ceceerobinson573 yes! I wanted to see that too. So much flashback potential
@@ceceerobinson573 right no context clues at all
I think he started feeling how good her family treats her. He resents that. That’s what I got from this movie.
