ok my troy built suddenly stopped running . I use true fuel and not oil and gas mix . I have look at carburetor rebuild kits that come with everything including spark plug .It just suddenly died one day , I bought it in 2016 and kits say tb 22 but then say tb22 ec but not sure what the difference is or if there is a difference .I tried everything so far and it won't fire up at all . I did one time accidently hit the blue start up and left it on so could it just be the spark plug . I am not sure if spark plugs come ready to install . never fooled with one of those before
This is a 2 cycle motor. It needs gas and oil mixed. Check the true fuel and make sure it is 40:1 or 50:1. If not you have burnt your motor up. Check spark and compression no compression tester then remove muffler look inside engine. Does piston have lines. If yes its bad. If no and you have spark its either plug or carb and fuel lines.
I've made so many adjustments to both screws, won't start now. You know what a good position for both carburetor adjustment screws that will get me back to at least start and idle so I can adjust from there? Thanks.
You need to check spark and compression. Also you need brand new gas. These stop running on gas that is 3 weeks old. Did you hook fuel lines up correctly?
@@smallengineguys I did not see bubbles when I pushed the primer bulb. A stream of the gas mix came from the return line. The gas is new. I will swap out the old plug and let you. Thanks so much for the reply.
I just fixed mine started by replacing the carburetor but that was not it. For those reading the comments, check the .070 x 1.864 o-ring located on the crankshaft endcap. If it is broke there is no vacuum to pull in the fuel. Good luck!
U saved my life. Thx👍 I was just about 2 return the sucker!
Glad i could help!
Ordered the 10pk and it worked perfectly!
What other tools can you used for the adjustment on the weeder? If you don’t have one..
@@ericyoder3074 i cut a flat head slot with a dremmel and a cut off wheel before.
I adjusted my carb but it only stays on if I keep on the throttle. Could it need a coil adjusted?
Adjust your idle screw. Tighten it so it idles higher.
Mine fires up on (#2 setting) choke, revs high (with throttle pulled), then dies. Any ideas?
Gas feed? Most of the ones I’ve worked on work a lot better with new lines. Their stock gas lines are junk
@@dads_diy replaced the carb... ran great for 1 use, then same thing
That does help! I repair small motors but never really never dealt with the td-22
easy stuff same same

1 full turn from snug tight is starting position. sounds like you need a new carb though
I just put a new carburetor on my TB22EC trimmer. It does not fire up at all. Is this the fix, that will make it run?
