Get a stock airbox for your SPICA. It’s the best vs. any aftermarket intake. The Italian engineers knew what they were doing.
In '83 I was in the Navy, stationed at NAS Sigonella, Sicily, IT.. There I had a dark blue 1975 Alpha Romeo GTV 2000. It had the 2000cc engine with the duel Weber carburetors. I don't recall the shifter being long and horizontal looking like this one has. Mine was more upright I believe. And did not have a long throw between gears. Wasn't a muscle car by no means. I think the top speed was 120 mph. But for those short straight aways, curvy, hilly roads, that car was in it's elements. Very peppy, and handled like it was on rails. It was a very fun car.
Beauty! My GTV has one tire rubbing as well. Left rear. Turns out it’s the quarter panel. Got hit at some point and not repaired correctly.
The bumpers on yours look like they sag , especially in the rear.
The rear bumper is off an earlier 1750 GTV S1 (1968 - 1970) with the 2000 GTV over riders grafted on. It looks very odd, but I agree with going back to SPICA fuel injection.
Great restoration. The steering wheel and shifter knob you’ve selected are horrid but apart from that, great work!
Nice car, but I like the 1750 better, it has a nicer grill, nicer rear lights and nicer dashboard.
I've had one of these for forty years...Spica and Webers at various times on it...with that said, I wouldn't rent it, it's too finicky for any ole punter to hop in and drive it like he stole it, the gear box will be toast not long after "they" grind thru the syncros...however you can indeed drive it hard, once you are used to the quirks. Not good in the rain. Love the wheels on yours and congrats on your buy!
Ma première voiture . Magnifique !
Spica injection is a wonderful system.
I ❤ Alfa Romeo Giulia Junior 1300 "Scalino" ;-) ciao from Sardinia - Italy
Lovely Alfa!
Thank you!!
@@GarageCollectiveCO Having owned both a 1969 Type 105 "1750 Spider Veloce" and a 1974 Type 115 "Berlina 2000" in period (both purchased new), the correct factory designation for your Type 115 coupé is "GT 2000 Veloce." [The earlier Type 105 coupé with the 1.8 liter was designated as a "1750 GT Veloce."] The Alfa Romeo factory did not use the “GTV" moniker until the introduction of the Type 118 transaxle cars. Refering to your lovely coupé as a "GTV" is a misnomer.
1750 Spica engine is the sweetest IMHO
Lovely car. But most of the Alfa folks I know would far prefer the dual Weber carburetors over the SPICA injection system. :)
I owned one of these. And I want another one.
If this is the same one in another yt video, then it is rougher than it looks. The paint looks half way decent, but there is a lot of stuff to rework under that paint. They should absolutely be able to driven with spirit, not just cruising.
I had a 74. I would not rent that car out. Last thing you want is someone tearing it up . Second gear synchro is worn out,
Nice car.
Agreed. A 'quick shifter' is not a good solution to the long throw box- it'll accelerate synchro wear, particularly if random fellas hop in and drive it hard from cold...
130bhp in a sub ton car is still decent fun in my book. Salute.
*Wants something consistent*
Also: chooses SPICA over the double webbers 🥶🥶🥶
NICEEE CARRRR
Auto magnifica👏👏👏
Fantastic car I love it ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
Size wheels 205 50 15
Canale 7j or 8j????
The Alfaholics only provide an 8 x 15″ GTAm wheel, which, according to the product description, will not fit cars with standard bodywork. Therefore, I am curious about what's going on here. Is any modification required, or should I consider NTM Wheels from Italy?
original and difficult to find size 165/80R14. 185/70R14 on same rims work, the added surface is cool when dry, not cool when wet. IMHO it's better to keep a temperamental alfa with its original carbs and world class engine sound (sounds that internet sound compression tends to butcher BTW), if you have already a spica I guess it will drink less fuel. It's a slightly unbalanced car dynamically speaking, but in a fun way, once you get used to the roll and the gearbox (long throw but not really slow) but road conditions, mistake with the throttle or speed, and you understeer, oversteer, wags it tail like a dog.
Great car
Alfa romeo gt junior beautiful
Bellissima complimenti
The fifth gear is to maximise speed, because aerodynamics punish this model at high speed. Not a highway car, but very zippy at slower speeds or bends.
quelle merveille...
