I have purchased several of these type of multitools for carry when I am out in public but because I live in the nanny state jokingly called the U.K. I have to take the locks off anything that is considered a blade and make sure that the blade configuration does not exceed 3 inches in length, not just the cutting edge either. I have numerous leatherman's and delocked one off them, but will not do that to any of the others.
The bonus is they are cheap to buy and for the price work satisfactorily after a little bit of tinkering. Good vid. LIKED.

I have bought the Daicamping DL7. Unfortunately, it had several problems: the plier handles were very loose and disalligned, the scissors did not lock and several of the inner tools had significant play. These inner tools also felt pretty flimsy, given how thin they are. So I had to return it. I also have the Shall multitool which has an overall better build quality, been pretty happy with that one.

More good news....I took some extra washers from old Leathermans and put a washer between the outer blades and the scales and was able to tighten the screws up tight and still easily able to one hand open and close the blades....now there is absolutely no play in the blades and they make a nicer hard open click

So I have had my SQT charge clone for a little over a week. I work in the trades, I am a telecommunications technician that deals with fiber, copper, and wireless.
First I want to say that this is still holding strong and and I am very happy with it. 2nd I have to give praise because this is probably out of all the knockoffs that I have bought from Rocktol, mossy oak, bibury, swiss tech, Flissa, and daicamping ( all the wave/surge clones 😂) this is the smoothies ( Don't think I spelled that right lol) opening and closing out of them all and it's not even close. I mean this is almost as good are my modded wave. My only issue is the wobble of the handles when it's closed.
If you even find a way to fix that please let me know.
Also, what all do you need to do to make the charge scales fit on the SQT/DL 7? I found some carbon fiber scales on AliExpress with tritium slots and want to know what I will need to do to make them fit

    • @hvacbudget8600
      @hvacbudget8600  2 месяца назад

I'm glad it is working out so well for you! All you need to do is very minimally drill out the bottom holes where the tools are attached as in opposite from the plier head pivots. And that's it. It is an easy mod. The hardest part is getting the DL7 back together!

Even though it's a good price like you stated if it gets misplaced or stolen it's not a big hit to the wallet for a number of people,I'll stick to the Daicamping DL2 and DL 30 I bought going on 4 weeks now. Those two multi tools are two of the best purchases I've made on any tools in a good while. These are gap stop tools never primary tools and they are extremely capable of what they're made for and some more. These are the I can't get every full sized tool with me at the moment for what ever is the reason comes up like it happens often in the trade business as you well know. This one is definitely a non thought for me no need for any other Daicamping DL series multi tool for now.

I bought one. The build is nice. But I still think you get what you pay for. A Leatherman, once opened by the pliers, it locks open like regular pliers until you force them to close. The diacamping just folds, doesn't really take anything to do it. I guess for a 3rd of the price, it's worth it if you need it for work and not just a toyvc

They have actually come out with a lot of new models over the last few years like the Free series, Bond, Curl, Arc, ect. The problem they are going to run into is they are going to price themselves out of business. The new Arc is $230.00 and some people are having problems with the hard wire cutters. It seems that $20.00 multitools outperform them in some cases. A 230.00 made in the USA tool should outperform a $20.00 one in all aspects. I remember years ago I purchased the Wingman for about $30.00 and now it is $70.00. These Leatherman inspired tools are actually very good quality. I own several of them and while they are not on par quality wise with the Leatherman's, they are probably a better value for the money!

I picture that someone may buy a clone because it’s a low barrier in price, and start to get interested in multi tools and later on buy a leatherman or swiss tool to enjoy a more premium product ( in the scheme of things these are still cheaper than cars, motorcycles, rolexes, etc) so it’s a small luxury that may be within reach of a working person.

It is 270g or 9.6oz. You could add a pocket clip if you're willing to drill a hole for the piece on the clip that prevents it from sliding around the handle. Check out my recent mod video where I described doing something similar to the M1 Roxon.

Hey H, so I have been using this MT for about a month now and I just wanted to ask you a question about the quality.
So the tool opens and closes extremely smoothly, all the tools open and close smooth, I love the tool set and the look. Just ordered a carbon fiber scales from AliExpress and some tritium tubes to help dress her up.
My only complaint about this tool is that it has some really bad flex when using any of the inside tools for like a pry bar, screwdriver, or any kind of twisting of the frame. It feels like it's going to break and I wanted to see if you have found any fix for that at all? And at first didn't really bother me but the more more I use it the worse and worst seems to be getting at this point. Now I'm a network technician so I am using this thing daily, and if I could fix the flex then it would be a perfect tool. I understand it's a "cheap" ( i have a DL30 with no issues at all and it's less than this was)
So I understand how the quality can defer. BUT, The flex on this might be the worst out of almost any multi-tool I've ever had and I hope you have some type of insight to this

I edc carried a skeletool for like 4-5 years. I loved the simplicity of it but hated how heavy it was and the bad pocket clip design. I lended it to the person who gifted it to me and was kinda heartbrooken when it was lost (yeah i know lol).
I started to carry these chinese clones bc of price and i wont be so heart broken when its lost.
Now im just in search of something simple like the skeletool but a bit better designed. I dont need a saw or an awl. I just want a good knife, pilers, a good flat head(or pry bar), a Philips head, a bottle opener, and maybe some other small stuff. Still in search of something like that if you have any recommendations 😅
