    my girlfriend is helping my print and put together one at the moment, and the number of options the files have is incredible, the left handed bolt options are right there and easy to choose, longer stocks, different rails, it's super modular and i really love it, really excited to have mine complete

    I'm curious if there'll be an alternative cheek piece on the stock that allows the rail to cover the plunger tube. I think that would be nice to allow for a bit more rail space and some options for scopes with differing eye relief for the mad lads who tune their blasters to make airsoft flinch.
    With the floating plunger tube, I've seen that on a lot of airsoft bolt actions, so there is the precedent in established deisgn.

    • @Sillybutts
      @Sillybutts Год назад

      Someone has already made a full top rail version iirc, idk if they’ve uploaded their files though.
      The bolt action style is based on the Indra by captain slug, but I’ve massively improved the catch and trigger mechanism.

    This is next up on my print docket. And your firing footage helped me see the longer bolt would get in the way of getting your hand back to the firing position or at least how I would see myself handling it. We joke about firing footage and that’s all we want but it is genuinely helpful for some of us. We love the pings, but they are helpful.

    How was the prime compared to a talon Claw with the same spring load? I imagine the bolt gives a mechanical advantage

    • @CaptainXavier
      @CaptainXavier  Год назад +1

      I have no idea. I don't have a Talon claw with the same spring load to compare it to. But it shouldn't provide any mechanical advantage as it is not providing any leverage.
      However, the location might result in muscular advantage depending on your form when priming. If you raise your elbow when you prime, you would transfer the load to your shoulder instead of your bicep (the same is true when drawing a bow). That would make a difference with heavier spring loads.

    • @VirginiaRican
      @VirginiaRican Год назад +1

      @@CaptainXavier yes, biological mechanical advantage. For example, a skewer's prime feels much lighter than a TV because of how your muscles are used. With bolt action, it's a bicep curl which is a mechanical advantage over pump action. I wonder if it's possible to load heavier springs and make a baby sniper rifle.

    • @CaptainXavier
      @CaptainXavier  Год назад +1

      I would be very dubious of the Cunthia's structural integrity under heavier spring loads. I would want to see several things reinforced before I would trust it.

    • @Sillybutts
      @Sillybutts Год назад +2

      @@CaptainXavier Cynthia is not meant for anything above k25, but I did use an X1 Lynx spring from Silverfox for stress testing during development. It handled it fine.

    Is it weird that I like the bolt on the right side of the blaster despite being left-handed? And I keep my left hand on the trigger. Though granted I haven't used a higher power bolt action blaster like this or the Caliburn B or Indra. I have only used things like the Buzz Bee Snipe with a minor spring upgrade.

    • @EmeraldCoasttt
      @EmeraldCoasttt Год назад

      Same for me, I'm right handed and using my off hand to prime while my primary hand doesn't leave the grip feels much more natural so I always put bolts on the left side when possible

    • @EmeraldCoasttt

      Thinking about it more, for me that might be because I really enjoy first person shooters, where bolts are generally placed to the left to add visual interest

    One thing i would find interesting is an iron sight system built into the rail so it's always there in case one's red dot fails you have iron sights already in place.
    Possibly two kinds one for usage on own but also iron sights to use whilst a red dot or scope, Possibly a layered style with the more lower profile one nesting into the higher one🤔

      @@Sillybutts maybe have metal rods go through the rails to support the hinge so it remains stable when folded open and have a slightly simpeler way to have it work and have them be usable on the made/delivered rails although it can mean the distance might be further
