- During a random integrity test conducted by Internal Affairs, Nolan accidentally breaks the shoulder strap off a lady's dress while arresting her. Later that evening, a gunman attempts to kill Nolan, who learns a hit has been put out on his life by the lady's boyfriend Cole, whose father is the leader on a violent white supremacist gang.
From Season 1 Episode 16 "The Green Light": Nolan accidentally breaks the shoulder strap off a woman's dress while arresting her. Later that evening, Nolan finds out that a hit has been put on his life after a gunman attempts to kill him. Despite this, Nolan returns to work and is partnered with Captain Andersen. Later, Nolan and Andersen are captured by the gang, which ends in a fatal shootout.

It was blatantly clear that it was a good old fashioned warning to back off - the creepy criminal stalker fled the crime scene after the rounds were dispensed; however, they could try again some time down the track

atfjacknz 9 seconds of shooting. Probably around 15 shots per second by that type of rifle. Sooo probably around 135 shots
But one magazine, of 30 rounds, he did not reload. Assuming, of course, it is a SCAR-L, if it is a SCAR-H, he only fired 20 rounds.

Gotta love that the Mk17 did more than 20 rounds on full-auto without a major malfunction. Also, those .308 rounds would have gone right through that thin door AND Nolan. Cars aren't cover, they're technically concealment. More realistically, they're a bullet sponge.
I agree with you they have a lot of "Hollywood" shootouts on this show, where ballistics takes
a backseat to the screenplay, especially when you're a real gun guy who's actually been shot
at. I'm not familiar with the Mk17's reputation, while it's unlikely I'll ever end up on the business
end of one, mostly we starred down a lot of 5.45mm, I would appreciate any notes or experiences

@@jthughes9820 I have been at machine gun shoots, the Mk17 in 7.62 will almost NEVER more than 2 full mags in full auto with out the worst bullet over bore malfunction I've ever seen. This has been confirmed by mil guys I know or videos of former SEALs/Rangers talking about it. It's an established issue. The CIVILIAN SCAR 17S is phenomenal. From what I can see, the only differences between them are the trigger group to allow select fire and the barrel length from the factory.

that was actually really close range (semiautomatic .308 rifles like the M14 or AR18
can hit a man sized target hundreds of yards away), it's also at night which even with
light amplification makes shooting problematic. We're given the impression the badguys

shooter didn't change mags (or clear a jam maybe) or use a backup weapon which would

I hate to say this, the military wouldn't be involved in a police matter, if it's something to do with the gang then usually it goes directly to the police ( unless in the matter of National Security ) also SWAT is very reserved usually only responding to call outs, those officers are probably highly trained.
This for me is the saddest episode as the captain dies! :(

She was trying to be a good captain and look out for her officers but they get ambushed and she ends up dying to save him and she dies in his arms

I was looking really closely and it looked like either a drummed AR-15 or a G36LMG
So he probably had a LMG, and the G36LMG holds over a hundred tiny rohnds
Golden Steak there are few if any drums that hold more than 100 rounds, lmg are belt fed and on closer inspection the gun used appears to be a acr or scar or something similar with a 30-40 round magazine, the show has a record of poor attention to detail, in the scene where the main character shoots a guy you can see the inner barrel of the bb gun they are using

Some officers choose not to conceal carry off duty, in an episode where he ruins Sgt greys valentines dinner he says he doesnt carry one because hes still getting used to carrying one on duty let alone off
cause up to this point, nolan is still struggling to carry an off-duty firearm with him...even if he did his handgun is no match for the assault rifle
