For future reference, mum's solution to people who are absolutely gracious and generous but always say 'Don't get me anything' is to give them an ang pow (or their children gets an extra large one if they reject your ang pow as well).
Also, if they enjoy cooking, things like dried scallops/mushrooms, tinned abalone seems to be the way to go. These are all 'nicer' ingredients that they could use.
Yes, brilliant! My mum's default "gift" at any and all occasions is ang pow for 2 reasons:
1. ang pow is also a "blessing" and you can't/shouldn't reject blessings
2. she just can't be bothered with gift shopping anymore 😆
I would absolutely love more clips of Rupert signing things if it's not too difficult to avoid or blur his face. I just think it's so cute how much he's learned so quickly and seeing a baby sign is precious.

Gender neutral toys are very good. I made the mistake of only giving my son boys category toys early on.
Your son playing with the dolls and putting them into the car is beautiful. Also giving boys baby dolls is good too, it makes them more nurturing and builds connections.
Something a lot of people forget to teach their sons including me. But my sons getting better now. Rupert is a gem and you are amazing parent’s. I love your videos.

How do you handle your food restrictions/intolerances at the family gatherings? Especially with gluten in so many sauces?
I loved the coordinating red outfits! So cute without being too matchy matchy. Sadly my brain power is too limited at the moment to manage a better commentthan this to give the video its deserved praise but thank you so much for sharing.

I am sorry you were in so much pain on your holiday Jessica. I have heard other people say that travel with an inflatable bed topper and that helps their backs-would that be helpful for you?
So good to see this. I'm half Malaysian and I'd love to go home with my wife and toddler but was a bit worried about being more obviously a couple there now that we have a baby together
It shouldn't be much of an issue! Malaysia's not as progressive as I'd like, but it's not common to confront people in public which works in your favour. Regardless of how anyone may feel, they're unlikely to cause you any issues when you're out and about ecploring Msia.
If you're visiting family, then it kind of depends on how open family is then. A lot of the older generation unfortunately still blurt out some horrifying things without even knowing how bad it sounds probably.

Glad to see you acknowledging managing pain, one of the reasons I watch your videos is to see about managing chronic illness and pain, while hopefully having a family.. And sometimes lately youve been just showing the happy stuff.. Which is so so lovely, but Im still learning and interested in chronic low spoons life, and happiness amongst the realities of restriction amd adaptation

I feel you with the pain. In central NY we are getting really bad weather snow and rain. I have had a massive migraine for going on 4 days now. Also I have arthritis in my shoulder and knee and it is really bothering me. Rupert is getting so big. He is so cute

I too have issues with too hard beds when I travel. I got an "egg carton foam" topper (on a suggestion from my masseuse) and it made a huge difference for me. I could pretty much sleep on any bed as I had the soft part. Now, I had to dedicate an ENTIRE suitcase to the thing (wry) but even the charge for the suitcase was worth it to not have my back seize up while traveling. Maybe it could help you, Jessica? Hugs!
Given they visited Malaysia reasonably frequently they might be able to buy one and store it with one of there family.

I'm a rabbit too! 🙂 Also, I haven't really traveled since I was diagnosed with lupus a few years ago, and even though my case is relatively mild, I've been a bit concerned about fatigue, etc, but seeing you be able to travel gives me hope that I will able to at some point again too! Not sure if you have a video about this yet, but would love to see tips for traveling with a chronic illness- my friend and I have been wanting to go to Costa Rica for a while but I worry about the heat wearing me out.

If there are extra duvets where you're staying you can layer them on top of a hard mattress to soften it a bit. Whenever i've done this in the past it's always quite surprising how well it works. Plus the bed feels like one of those half-vacuum sealed packaging pieces when you first lay down, except you're the item it's been molded to fit.
