I think that could be really fun seeing you choose & style her clothes since they're so different from what you're used to working with!
I must say I agree and cannot put a piece of clothing I’ve worn back in the dresser or wardrobe unless it’s been washed. It makes sense in my brain just like yours Jessica 😊
I also don't put them in the cupboard (no judgement for those that do though!). I've just moved and am planning to get a valet stand for "in use" clothes, but at the moment they're on top of a pile of boxes 😆
The problem is that you need to keep in mind that the clothes you've worn before need to be worn again very soon, and not keep piling up once-worn clothes on chairs around the house.
It's true but to use that method successfully then you've got to commit to either wearing the clothes again soon or washing them so they can go back in the wardrobe, things sitting for weeks on end on the clothes horse without either of those things happening is just a downward spiral.
@Jessica I've paused at five minutes in to talk to you about driving. I'm an ex London bus driver from back when there were many weeks of training. Over forty years of driving and have helped a good few people learn to drive and improve their skills. Also have ME/CFS so totally understand how hard it must be to have two hour lessons, never come across that before... (edit: btw I find I can get hyperactive when I'm particularly exhausted, is that what was happening there with you? It really annoys me that if I'm not careful it just blows my remaining energy in one go!) Back to driving... What is happening to you though is, you'll be amazed to discover....you're learning! What you describe is exactly what happens to most learners it's not a linear curve. This is because it's both a mental and a physical skill to learn, similar to playing the piano, which I also do and have taught. Just remember this: the worse you feel the lesson has gone, the more you've learnt. Your brain will process what's happened, next time you're confronted with a similar set of issues your brain will process a bit more. The issues are never completely replicated though so because each time is slightly different it feels like you're taking a long time to learn or even like you're taking a retrograde step. You're not, it's just because of these variations that have to be factored in. Regarding the sitting beside a driver for ten years....my wife sat beside me and navigated for thirty years before she took lessons in her fifties. She's dyspraxic and not patient but passed first time after ten or maybe fifteen weekly lessons of an hour. (ME memory, lack thereof!) Hope this helps you in return for all you've done for me xx Edit: Ah that was fun, loved how much Rupert enjoyed choosing...though I have no idea about the choices as we are both more in the Claudia style of dressing but way less cool. I only feel comfortable in men's clothes too although I do shop for my wife's clothes as she hates clothes shopping but I could pretty much bring home a sack and she wouldn't notice 😂 I can't remember who chose the clothes in the "swapping looks" video but an updated one would be good maybe compare each others choices.... We shall look forward to it as we do all your videos 👍🥰💕
Such a great comment about the learning process. That period between being good at it when it is a new skill and then messing up when it has to become a (physical) routine! Can be so frustrating, and hilarious when you keep messing up.
A lovely and very helpful comment (I'm also learning to drive, in my 30s!). On the 2 hour lessons - they're common where I am too. The reason is because the nearest test centre is so far away (half an hour + in my case) so in order to get to the area where the test will be, so you can practice on those roads, it has to be 2 hours. Obviously not as important in the very early stages when you're just learning the basics, but needed as the test approaches, and I think most instructors here just do 2 hours as standard because of this.
@@kpwxx ah, now that makes sense and it's such a great idea to practice on the roads where you'll be tested. It's just occurred to me that the volume of traffic to be negotiated these days would probably easily use up an hour too. Of course when I've taken young drivers out informally I've been able to pick days and times with the best traffic conditions. Thanks for helping me piece together the answer to that mystery and for your kind words.🙏 Very best wishes for your successful transition to becoming a driver. Remember C.A.T concentrate, anticipate and tolerate. That from my late dad who taught people to drive many and varied vehicles during the second world war. Always found that great mantra. 👍
I think it's really sweet that you let Rupert choose your outfit. Even if it had never seen the light of day, it still wouldt've been really fun and validating for him even just as an at home outfit
I had to pause the video and comment on what Jessica expressed after her driving lesson! This is the effect of perfectionism. It is exactly because of the fear/dislike of failure that we strive for perfection in the things we do, especially things we care about. If we see being not perfect as failure, then when we aren't perfect, we stop putting in effort. By reframing "not perfect" to "practise" or "everyone makes mistakes", we can lessen this fear response and work on embracing the process of learning!
omg thanks so much for this comment!!! i related so much with what jessica was saying about her experience with driving and i’ve been searching for a comment that would explain what’s going on and how to make it not happen. it makes sense to try to reframe the way I look at “failure”.
Nope, Jessica is right. Clothes that are not dirty but have been worn go to the "stasis" area, not back into the closet (as we call it here in the states) or drawer. For one thing, they can air out for re-wearing. For another, you don't put "the street" next to freshly laundered clothes, even if the street is technically only around the house. However, I will say clothes should stay in stasis only a day or two. If you haven't worn them by then, go ahead and put them in the laundry.
100% this. after i change into my home clothes, i put my outdoor clothes on a chair so i can wear it another day. perks of college classes being MWF or TR means i can wear the same outfit 2 days in a row, techincally.
As a counterpoint, washing clothes that aren't dirty is bad for the clothes (because they get worn out much, much faster) and VERY bad for the environment (use of energy, detergents and release of microplastics for synthetic fabrics). It's very wasteful to wash clothes that don't need it, just because they've been worn once.
@@ViveMeorLeti I think it depends on what you consider dirty/not dirty, though. Regardless, the street clothes have been worn for a chunk of time. It's not like a brief stint at trying on them. It can be something like being worn for a grocery trip or to go on a walk or something like that. Imo street clothes are somewhat dirty, but they're not dirty enough that I would want to throw them in the wash. It's not like you're getting completely clean clothes and throwing them in the wash, chances are there's something on the clothes themselves (even if it's as simple as sweat).
That cropped jumper with the skirt is ❤👌. I think this is such a great challenge. Would love to see more creators do this. I know Hannah Witton has done one with her partner x Also seeing Rupert helping and joining in is just adorable
What you're describing about driving is super common, definiely don't be too hard on yourself! It's because driving needs a careful balance of paying attention without overthinking , everything needs to be smooth (stops, accelerations, turns) to match the flow of traffic, and once one thing goes wrong it is easy to get in your head and hesitate, or move less smoothly and suddenly every little decision in driving is going wrong. My best advice would be to find a way to reset. Whether it is to pull over, get out and back in and sya you have a new session, or even to put some music on or find an empty parking lot or track to just drive in a circle which is something that can't really be messed up - anything to help get you out of your head. Best of luck with it!
I really liked the closed blouse under the dress for the pub! And Rupert's lewk was really inspiring to me too! Headbands should be spot cleaned--lots of them are made of cardboard so you wouldn't want to fully submerge them in anything.
26:00 just wanna say, really appreciate you both going the extra mile with a really energetic kid like Rupert. Speaking as someone who was an “energetic” kid, having parents that had displayed that kind of patience for me would have made all the difference in the world. You two are great parents. It’ll make all the difference in the world to him ❤
It’s lovely that you wore Rupert’s outfit pick, imo it does a lot or a small person self esteem to see mama wear their choice. Worn clothes do not go back in the wardrobe or drawers.
This was such a fun video! I thought Tuesday was something, but Wednesday was even better. As always, Jessica was a good sport about all of it. And of course “Yes” to the updated style switch video!
Man. You guys are the couple I'd love to be. I'm the chronic pain, lupus, arthritis, sleep deprived one. But not near as beautiful as Jessica is. Watching you lovelies is so nice. I hope to find that in the future. Take care and hugs to Rupert. ❤ Love from Newfoundland, Canada 😊
It took me a long time and many tries to get my driver license, as I find driving can be very anxiety inducing, but I did it! And today will be the first time I take a solo drive! I am sending you all the encouragement on your learning to drive journey! It can take as long as it needs to, what’s important is that you will learn new things every time.
Jessica if you can manage to get your clothes aired out outside for several hours they should be fine to go back in the wardrobe. With that much closet space i would try to designate a portion for clothes that have been worn but don’t need to be washed yet.
I was thinking that too. It's a bit harder to segregate when you use shelves and drawers, but for hanging clothes it's super easy to keep them separate.
Learning to Drive! I passed my test in January, had the same problem with once one thing had gone wrong I'd get really mad at myself and the rest of the lesson would feel like a write off. The best thing I can suggest is to really practice taking a single deep breath and visualising breathing your frustration out (every day, not just while driving). It helped, still got mad at myself but I could move past it enough to have another go and not write off the rest of the lesson. Taking 10 minutes before the lesson to get into a good headspace also helped, but whether or not you get chance for this might be a different story. It absolutely sounds super obvious but it did help me, used on the test when I passed. Best of luck with your driving, sending all the patience and good driving wishes your way !
I had exactly the same thing when learning to drive. Your mind gets stuck on the mistake and you can't let it go, so while you're thinking about that you start making more and more mistakes because your concentration is off and I would get anxious and then want to sack off the whole thing altogether, lol. I think it is definitely something you can teach yourself out of. Perfection isn't the answer! You're learning and meant to make mistakes. My driving instructors used to tell me to forget about it immediately and continue focusing on what was happening in the present. You can do it!
It was fun watching the clothes drama unfold, so migraines are no joke, I find being cold feet help and migraine cool patches on back of my neck, blackout curtains and dark glasses if you can't stay in bed, big hugs 🤗
yes i definitely have a “clothes horse” of sorts situation! also generally bad at not living out of a clean clothes basket too😆😆😆 also would love to see an updated version of C & J swapping clothes‼️
In regards to your, “one thing goes wrong and the rest goes wrong from there on out”, 4:50 the exact same thing happens to me! It turns out it was my anxiety all this time. I experience it every time I take a test, or have to figure anything out. (It also has a bit to do with my complex ptsd and my regular ptsd)
My favorite outfit is the one on Sunday. 😊 Rupert did a good job helping you both pick out an outfit for Jessica. I also enjoyed Claudia’s choosing your outfits too. Hope you all are feeling much better now. ❤️
Rupert dressing you was absolutely adorable! A video of him choosing your outfits would be hilarious (assuming he was willing and you didn't have any important events those days). Maybe a long weekend of Rupert dressing you where you give him some weather/activity appropriate options to choose from could be fun? Also, it's nice to see someone sharing the ups and downs of normal life online - nobody is really living that filtered Instagram-style life all day every day.
Monday was my favorite, Wednesday was the most entertaining 😊 I'd love to see you do another fashion swap! Thank you, this whole video was adorable in all kinds of ways 😄
I'm honestly quite amazed that you went for dinner with other parents 😂 My daughter is 4 and goes to both nursery and preschool but I've basically never spoken to the other parents, except one friend I already know from board game club lol. I do not know how to talk to people even though I too have to do that for my job 😂
I'm with Claudia on the clothes going back in the closet debate, especially for dresses and skirts lol The day to day stuff I wear at home stay on the clotheshorse because it doesn't need washing but also doesn't need to live in the closet since I'll be wearing it again tomorrow 🤷♀
I agree with Jessica. I wish I had one closet for clean, one closet for half clean, and one closet for needs to be cleaned. My half clean clothes have a basket where I try to keep them in one place but it’s not ideal 😅
I just wanted to say thank you for these videos. I struggle a lot with chronic back pain and mental health issues, making some days feel impossible to keep up with the world, especially with college classes and assignments. You and your videos helped me through those days and reminded me that one bad day shouldn't hold you back from the good ones to come. Thank you for being unapologetically yourself, Jessica. ❤
This was so wholesome! 🥰 I’ve noticed that people that aren’t particularly fascinated by fashion, they often focus solely on a rule in their mind: all clothing much be the same color. Then it all “matches” 😂 It makes logical sense, my partner thinks this way too. I think it’s interesting!🥰
What an interesting week,😂 I was able to watch you post today because I'm having a bed week with migranes and just all over pain. I used to be able to drive before I got sick with multiple conditions 3years ago. And now I can't drive because I get really severe bouts of dizziness with my migraines. And just dizziness most of the time, its just the severity that varies. I so happy to see that I'm not the only one that is affected by chronic illnesses and ailments, it makes me feel part the world. Not I would wish what we go through on anyone but it is nice to not feel so alone. Love you all. Deb
I wish I could give you the same driving teacher I had. He was the best and specialized in teaching people with disabilities and/or extreme anxiety how to drive. He was the most calm and collected man to ever live. I know I would not have been able to get my license without him. Unfortunately he was very old when he taught me at age 18 (he was a WWII veteran). I am now 32. Also I live in the US. But hopefully you will find someone like my Mr. Watley to help you.
As someone that struggled a lot while learning to drive, I understand completely your problems. I had the same issue myself. I will say this. Failure will be inevitable, but what you can do is when you fail at something, don’t hesitate to start over and try again. Because you are here to learn, making mistakes will always be forgiven. Missing a step in parking? That’s okay, start over, try again. Instructors are always appreciative of when you see a mistake, take a breath, and start again, with better basis. You can do it!
I'm with Jessie. Partially worn clothes never go back in the cupboard but I pretty much wear partially worn clothes the next day so I leave them on the back of my chair - I get my clothes out the night before and leave them in the back of the chair anyway, did actually try a clothes horse for this exact function but it was not the one.
For sure do a switching clothes again! and maybe a day Rupert dresses you both. So cute! My fav outfit was the hoodie and the dress combo. Probably because that feels like a good comfort level for me between modern and vintage. Totally gonna steal that idea Thanks!
Had the same issue with learning to drive - didn't feel ready my first 2 goes at the test and had the nervous reaction to anything going wrong. Third time though.... something had just clicked and I felt much more able to respond to other people messing up on the road, or not feeling 100% perfect - that time I passed AND felt like I could drive on my own. It's very worth it to pace yourself and know that it takes time for your brain to comprehend that it can be safe going faster than it was designed to move at aha! It takes a while longer for some people, but it's better to get to that point as a learner rather than do what my sister did and pass to fast then freak out when on her own (no crash just a terrible hill start that made her panic), and be too spooked to get behind the wheel again.
I love the little Cinderella Disney pin. You should definitely do another Disneybound/ Disney outfits video. Show Rupert that his Mama is a Princess! 👸💕🌈
As someone discovering this for the first time... I think I need a parasol but omg your wife's fashion sense. I'm currently getting out of jeans and t-shirt wardrobe and IT'S HARD. I could never pull off that many puffy shoulder things but you looked great for every single one.
Your driving lesson outfit with the red hat is so cute! I was literally about to say "self sabotage" while you were discussing the driving lessons and then you said it. Driving can be very difficult when you have anxiety about it, and I think there's an added pressure when you're older than when most people get their license because it's like, "Well if a teenager can do this, surely I can do it no problem!" But it's a skill and all skills take some time to learn.
Updated style swap! Also would love to see both of you online shop for one another (or charity shop) for a date together. Also looking up this whale pillow now, my migraines have been killer. Acupuncture in my neck and head have been helping a bit. Wishing you a migraine-free rest of your week. 💜
My favourite was definitely the one Rupert picked! You should do a whole week of toddler picks my outfits 😂 I would definitely like to see an updated style swap video too!
Hi Jessica and Claudia. I loved your Monday outfit the best. It was fun seeing all the other ones though. I love to see you dressing Claudia in a vintage style for a week that would be good.
I loved this video, i watched Sherlock with my brother aand i forgot how scary it was Watching you three was incredibly enjoyable, calming and wholesome i really liked the flow of the editing, and how casual it felt ❤
today i discovered that there's nothing more i want to do with my life than get married and watch my wife do shadow hand puppets to our tiny adorable toddler. how does it feel to live my dream?
Would love to see an updated Style Swap especially if you kept any of those vintage style jeans! You could definitely do a fusion Jessie-Claud look with those!
Great video! Love the fashion content with your lovely family sprinkled in. WOW so funny seeing Jessica’s utter struggle not smiling for the pic!! PS not good to wash clothes just because you’ve worn it - but a GREAT video idea would be trying historical cleaning of clothes, not washing but spraying alcohol or other methods to clean sans suds
Hi Jessica! Maybe i'm just projecting what's happening in my life rk, hehe. What you said about learning to drive and being overwhelmed when not winning a task sounded to me like your inner child speaking loudly about her concerns! It could be interesting to try to sit and discuss with her, kindly listen to her from your experienced Jessica position. To offer her other ways of seeing the situation and some well deserved reassurance. Ok have a nice week and thanks to the KF family for the fashion inspo!
the best dress was the poofy purple one that Rupert picked out! I agree with the not putting worn clothes back in the closet, that is what the clotheshorse is for. You shouldn't need to wash hairbands unless you get it very dirty.
I've gotta respect the sheer amount of editing it must take just to keep little Rupert's face off screen while he seems determined to get in on everything.
Not gonna lie I'd be unsurprised if I saw Rupert's outfit choice on the runway. Man's got an eye for high fashion.

It’ll make all the difference in the world to him ❤
The deep discomfort on Jessica’s face while Claudia insists she can wear the same thing again was very good.
Everytime Rupert says Mama 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
It’s lovely that you wore Rupert’s outfit pick, imo it does a lot or a small person self esteem to see mama wear their choice. Worn clothes do not go back in the wardrobe or drawers.
It is really nice to see someone who also has awful migraines it make me feel like i am not being dramatic like i have been told many times
Definitely love to see an updated swap, and then more of Rupert picking your outfits! Just adorable! ❤️
This was such a fun video! I thought Tuesday was something, but Wednesday was even better. As always, Jessica was a good sport about all of it.
And of course “Yes” to the updated style switch video!
I always love to see you all laughing together! I love that Rupert jumped in on choosing the clothes!
More outfits chosen by Rupert for both of you. Endlessly charming!
He's such a little person 🥺he's absolutely precious.
Claudia is very good at putting an outfit together, which can be a touch difficult when dealing with a style that's not your own!
This was especially fun and light hearted.
Rupert’s little voice is super cute 🥰
Monday was my favorite, Wednesday was the most entertaining 😊
I'd love to see you do another fashion swap!
I'm with Claudia on the clothes going back in the closet debate, especially for dresses and skirts lol
The day to day stuff I wear at home stay on the clotheshorse because it doesn't need washing but also doesn't need to live in the closet since I'll be wearing it again tomorrow 🤷♀
In our house it is the chair where the 'not clean but not dirty' clothes go.
I was so stunned to see Jessica in a hoodie I fully stopped what I was doing in shock (looks super cosy though!)
I think it’s sweet that Claude layered Jessica up in every outfit so she wouldn’t be chilly.
I’ve noticed that people that aren’t particularly fascinated by fashion, they often focus solely on a rule in their mind: all clothing much be the same color.
19:14 don’t ask questions [about] things that help a migraine; just accept and be grateful 😂💯
I am Team Rupert, always go with the sparkles and unique accessories.
I would love a week of Rupert outfits! It was great!
These looks are iconic, and I’ve been reminded that I need to get some more classically styled pajamas. Marvelous video, thanks very much.
For sure do a switching clothes again! and maybe a day Rupert dresses you both. So cute!
My fav outfit was the hoodie and the dress combo. Probably because that feels like a good comfort level for me between modern and vintage. Totally gonna steal that idea Thanks!
i swear rupert is too dang cute. my wee disabled heart cant handle this cuteness overload
I adore these light hearted fashion videos! More please :)
I feel you on the driving lessons! I hate the world's dependance on cars, but unfortunately a lot of jobs in my field require you to be able to drive.
omg rupert has AMAZING style im loving this so much!
I love the little Cinderella Disney pin. You should definitely do another Disneybound/ Disney outfits video. Show Rupert that his Mama is a Princess! 👸💕🌈
I loved this video! It’s so fun to see Jessica’s clothes!
My favourite was either the first or the last, the last was more my own colours but the first was so perfectly Jessica I loved it!
You should definitely do an updated version of the clothes swap video.
This is so adorable and I love Claud's picks!
This was surprisingly fun! Ruppert is absolutely adorable
Monday and Saturday were spot on!!!!!
Ok. Rupert dressing Jessica was seriously adorable.
Jessica is 100% correct that clothes that have been worn but don’t need washed yet do NOT go back in the closet!
Where do they go? I put mine back in the closet (if I’m not lazy)
Hi Jessica and Claudia. I loved your Monday outfit the best. It was fun seeing all the other ones though. I love to see you dressing Claudia in a vintage style for a week that would be good.
I loved this video, i watched Sherlock with my brother aand i forgot how scary it was
Watching you three was incredibly enjoyable, calming and wholesome i really liked the flow of the editing, and how casual it felt ❤
today i discovered that there's nothing more i want to do with my life than get married and watch my wife do shadow hand puppets to our tiny adorable toddler. how does it feel to live my dream?
Would love to see an updated Style Swap especially if you kept any of those vintage style jeans! You could definitely do a fusion Jessie-Claud look with those!
This was such a lovely video! You are all just adorable with each other!
Jessica you always look so pretty. I love the cool dresses you have. Also Rupert has the cutest little voice
ooo i would love an updated style swap!!
This was so cute and sweet 🥺 you have a beautiful family!!
Rupert should be your stylist from now on. perfection.
