      Yeah, rewatch that kick, TT also had an amazing punting game with massive hang times but what he did to not only grab that horrible snap was down right godlike to get it down and in place so the master could break a record that was just previosly broken. Not to mention that it barely slipped bast two defenders. Talk that either could have been MVP is legit.

      Yep, he had the touches but that's why you have back-up's. Shanahan's first instinct is pass first even when you have the lead. That doesn't work. It was their game to win but they forced Purdy to make all the plays. Run the ball more in the second half, keep the ball away from Mahomes, and they win easy. Bad decision.

    The sad part is, the Niners had it in the bag. 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter. The Niners only needed 4 yards. And they had 2 plays to get 4 yards. Give the ball to CMC. He gets the 4 yards. Even if it takes him 2 downs. Then the Niners milk the clock, kick the field goal, win the Superbowl. Easy peasy. But instead, what did they do? They give the ball back to Mahomes with 2 minutes left. Might as well have handed him the Lombardi trophy right then and there. Niners had their foot on the Chiefs throat. They took it off, and got what they deserved. Dumb play call by Shanahan in critical moments. Unprepared. To bolster that point, the Niners players were completely oblivious to the OT rules. Whereas the Chiefs players were fully briefed on OT rules and were prepared with contingencies. This goes to show the preparation of Reid vs Shanahan.

      I hear ya. I would even take it a step further: I think many fans didn't understand why KC didn't call a timeout there at the end of OT. I thought they should have, because SF is up by 3, and if the clock goes to 0:00 and KC doesn't get the TD, SF wins. I think KC was lucky, they took a huge risk ... if Hardman had dropped the ball or Mahomes had missed him, there would have been 2 or 3 secs left to kick the FG and go to the 2nd OT. Maybe Reid and Mahomes knew that they would have some time left if they didn't get the TD, but WOW what a huge gamble.

    It's not surprising the Chiefs went for the TD before the first OT ended. They already had the 49ers on their heels as they were exhausted from the drive already. Chiefs kept the momentum going and rightfully went for the game winning TD play. If they had let the clock run out, the 49ers would've had a little rest and reset before the second OT began.

      @shanenelson5811 3 месяца назад

      @@jeffkan1Like he stated already above? The Chiefs were still on their 1st overtime offensive possession. So, no. The game would have continued. That's why people are needing to talk about how the 49er players weren't aware of the overtime rules more. Because their entire defense is sitting there looking at the clock about to dwindle to 0, and they are thinking the Chiefs are about to run out of time, and they were probably shocked the Chiefs weren't in field goal formation to attempt to tie before the overtime clock had run out. Little did they know the Chiefs get to complete their first overtime possession to completion. Even if it's past the 1st overtime alloted clock. The 49ers were ill prepared in the 4th, and overtime. Shanahan was completely schooled by Reid.

    Great games doesn't always constitute great offense, but can still be a great game. The Defense on both sides played great. It got better towards the end. Great game.

    It was a great game and I don’t normally like defensive type games. Unfortunately for the 49ers the defense fell apart a bit at the end of reg time and in overtime and the champs struck.

    Definitely showed that Mahomes willed that Victory. Brock Purdy; great QB but experience won out in that game. He's got a great career ahead of him; he definitely showed that. That last TD; a million things could have gone wrong, kicker could have missed, Anything in Sports. That's what makes the game so good!

    I am sorry but MCC had 50 yards rushing in regulation. He was not "gaining six yards a play". In OT he had some nice runs and finished with 80 yards rushing but still only finished with 3.63 YPC during the entire game. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.

      Nah, because that changes the whole next drive. It doesn't go into OT for sure, but that doesn't mean the Chiefs lost. Could have ended 23-20 Chiefs win as well. Clock management would have been different, as well as play calling.

    Wrong Dan Patrick. It WAS VERY MUCH, a great game! Close the whole way. Great defensive plays some really good offense from time to time. A real nail biter the entire way. I suppose if you're a mouth breather who only likes high scoring affairs, this may not have been your cup of tea. But half of football is DEFENSE! Both teams played their tails off to the very end. Scoring was hard. Scoring SHOULD be hard. Props to the NINERS and their fans as well as my heartfelt appreciation of how you feel after this game. As a lifelong Chiefs fan, I know what pain is. Congratulations on a great season and good luck next year.
    You are almost always spot on. But you missed the forest through the trees here.

    Losing Greenlaw was big but the Chiefs were without Thuney and Omenihu. I think the real story was how Chenal and Pennel kept snuffing the run in the second half, the muffed punt, and the decision not to run the ball with Christian M on 3rd and 4 from the 5.

    • @kylekatarn5964

      Chenal was a wrecking ball on non ball carriers too. He was the one who smacked George Kittle's shoulder. Pennel gave Trent Williams some trouble on pulls.

      @@jaybrickman1094 He said Mahomes AND Allen, which I believe is correct. Left out Lamar conveniently. Wonder what that record is? Especially considering how the Bengals can never seem to beat the Ravens. Regardless, I don't think it matters so much if they can't keep Tee Higgins. They need him so Chase doesn't get double-teamed every down. Without Chase AND Higgins, the Bengals are not nearly as successful. Burrow is good, sure. But so is Allen, and when he only has 1 good receiver, it's a dramatic difference.
