Introduced in 1982, the Cavalier was Chevy's new compact front wheel drive entry level model and were offered in sedan, wagon, coupe, and a rare convertible body style. They were offered with 2.0L I4 and 2.8L V6 engine with either 4 or 5 speed manual and 3 speed automatic transmission. The car was also sold around the world as Buick, Pontiac, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Opel, Vauxhall, Isuzu, and Holden.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this very unique time caples for your consideration. On offer is an extremely rare, low mileage 1986 Cavalier 2.0L RS Convertible for your consideration. Some source say that just 5,785 were produced in this configuration and we'd wager that very few are left in this condition. The exterior is in very exceptional shape, with shiny Gold Metallic paint, excellent and fade free plastic trim, red RS stripes, excellent original power top with clean rear window, and great glass. Even the wheels are factory fresh with matching hubcaps and brand new tires. The RS trim is very unique for a convertible and features the aforementioned stripes as well as a revised airdam and side sills. The interior of this car is great and features power windows, power locks, the original stereo and climate control, and power convertible top. The seats are in great shape with just a hint of wear on the driver's seat.
The engine bay is extraordinarily clean and the 2.0L I4 is a great runner. Equipped with a smooth shifting 3 speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes, this car is extremely easy to drive. The condition inside and out suggest that this car has been garaged most its life and the car has a clean carfax. We guarantee you will not find a nicer example out there! I have a silver 1986 RS Cavalier, 5 speed one owner with the optional wheels sitting in my barn. One day I should get it going again. It had a misfire and I parked it up.
