- Tearing up Thunderhill Raceway in the new Hyundai Veloster N (N standing for Nurburgring where they did all their testing). What is Ecrew? When I had to uproot and move to Indiana, there was a car community called Bcrew (B for Bloomington, Indiana). These guys became my family. Instead of partying on the weekends, I was working on cars- and I loved it. Since starting youtube, I have started what I call Ecrew. It's not supposed to be some childish "Logang squad." It's a community where you get to take 10min out of your day and be involved in a build, but more importantly it's a family.

Don't forget that the N was engineered by a guy they pulled from BMW M. I think the car is great for what it is, and also for the price.
That means the engine will overheat and fail easily. BMW isn't exactly great with reliability and their cars are spontaneously catching fire.
@@Hboogie182 When they developed the car they did 10.000km's on the Nurnburg ring and the same engine is also used in the DTM version of the i30N
@@tubejorrit doesn't change the fact that 3 million Hyundai's and Kia are being recalled for fire hazard. But I hope to God nothing goes bad with the Veloster N because I really like this car. Hope it doesn't catch fire like the other models.

Well european market has i30n hatchback and i30n fastback already..
I30n hatchback is what Hyundai sells in US as Elantra GT... if this info helps you. But not sure if i30n hatchback will be out at US market knowing that performance hatchback is filled by vw. Focus RS did pretty bad.. you can easily find New 2016/17 focus rs in market as well...

Brian Silvestro from Road and Track crushed the auto-x. Your 41 was awesome. I couldn't break 41.7 but went back after lunch, rode with the pro, and he helped me shave a second(!) off my time. Got down to a 40.5.

Awesome video! Always been a big fan of hyundai, both my parents drive them, and my fiance got a Tucson. If I wasn't starting a family in the next few years I would probably trade my GTI in for this Veloster N. Been saying it needs a 2.0t since the original turbo model came out. Glad to see they finally did it!

I like your reviews, they are more fun and lighthearted. I watched Redline and TFL who both go into a lot more detail but are also more serious. I hope you will do more in the future.
Iam just hoping the n (when ever it gets to nova scotia) has around the same performance as my current one (full bolt on and tuned makes the same crank hp) and hopefully mods are able to bring it to the next level.

I always loved the look of the original Veloster. since it came out it really reminded me of one of my loves..the CRX, just needed more power!!

This is not their first Performance car in the US.Take a look at the Rspec Genesis coupe.
Ya know, I used to shit on Hyundai all the time, but now it's really getting alot of my respect. The Elantra sport looks great, the N looks awesome, wondering what else they have up their sleeve.
Just really wish they would change their emblem though. That symbol resembles the bad history they've had, think they need a new one since Hyundai has really changed.
Looks like it will be a fun car to daily and have fun with.

Actually I nearlly bought a hyundai it was a close but I bought a 2017 kia cerato only because they gave me a 7 year warranty and 7 year road side assistance. But both these makes and mazda are the top 3 selling makes in Australia. After seeing this though ill buy a hyandai next year. Because as you said, Hyandai actually care a shit.

The car sounds good it seems to drive well but what were they thinking with that door arrangement, it reminds me of the madness called the Nissan Cube, the design team must have all been sniffing the barmaid's apron or they had been eating strange mushrooms had a psychotropic experience, sent the drawings to production, didn't realise they had forgotten a door until a car rolled of the production line. at that point they said it was for aerodynamic effect.
