In my point of view, this album is perfect. Maiden was trying to give back the essence of their 80's albums. And this album was a good shot! I Mean, a lot of riffs and solos was inspired by their old stuff. And Bruce have an absolutely fantastic vocal range on this album. Most of the songs in this album are remarkable, and unique. They made a great return in that album.
You're going to have to figure out how to take in the slow intros and build-ups as part of the overall dynamic and mood of the song, even like that little short 20 second one in Silent Planet that bored you, lol. Otherwise you're going to dismiss a lot of good shit on the rest of the albums. Like the title song on the next album for example. It tells a "spooky" story, and would actually be shit if it just jumped right in to the heavy part. There is a lot of storytelling type songs on the rest of the albums, so just try to take it all in. (I don't think he's reading this stuff anyway guys, he didn't know Bruce was back until he heard him).
This album is amazing. There are only two songs that I would call average but the rest of the album is incredible. The next album is alright. In my opinion, all the albums after this one can't touch this one.
MJNation I feel like this is going to be a pointless exercise. The newer albums are never going to match the classics. Now it's just a case of if you're enough of a fan to keep playing the new releases. Fortunately Maiden's fanbase is huge, so they'll never go broke in that front.
MJNation They all have their strong points imo, paschendale and rainmaker are 2 from DoD i think he'll like and maybe reincarnation and longest day from the next one
jcrosato man I was 15 when this came out and I wasn't too keen on the blaze Bayley Era. When this album dropped it blew my mind man. Maiden was back an here to stay. Epic
With this album was my first time watching Iron Maiden live. I was 20 and I still remember the huge avalanche when Bruce Dickinson came out on stage, a night I will never forget. This album is a true masterpiece.
Ghost of Navigtor and Brave New World for me are two top tracks! Sorry that you didn't like those. But it's great that you keep going this marathon, love to hear your thoughts and reactions. Next one isn't one of my favorites, but then comes A Matter of Life And Death, which is probably their best work since the 80's period, at least in my opinion. Keep it going man, 4 more albums to their whole discography.
You're so fun to watch when you're really enjoying a song! Your reaction to "The Wicker Man" took me back to the first time I'd heard it - it was so awesome. One of my favorites by Maiden. :)
Timo Thijssen That's one of the only things that I don't like about this album. And it's the reason I don't listen to 2000s and on Maiden albums. Some songs are great, but most of those albums are just too "prog" without much substance.
As a BG fan, I don't think so, they're not a "first reaction" band. First time I hear their songs, I think they're boring and then they get amazing after a couple of listens.
SuperRandomExplosion interesting, i fell in love with them instantly! I think the thing that will catch YouYouYou is the catchy choruses and theatrical elements of the conposission. As he has given me the impression he enjoys those things, eithet way would want him to try, at least the lattet albums (somwhere, nightfall and such)
Iron Maiden are story tellers. The art form has been lost recently in music. So when listening to them, you will in most songs, have a slow build-up. You need to patient and enjoy the musical ride that Maiden take you on.
I would like your feedback on a couple of things since you have been listening to Iron Maiden. What is your opinion of Eddie; the mascot? Have you looked at the album artwork? Have you watched any videos? Just curious. Keep up the good reviews. Happy Mardi Gras from Nawlins.
So can anyone tell me why he loved The Wicker Man but not Ghost Of The Navigator, Blood Brothers or Brave New World? I haven't watched his reaction to Dance Of Death but I suspect he'll only like Wildest Dreams and Rainmaker and will dislike Paschendale and others "because it has a slow buildup."
I would love to see you react to Linkin Park's rapper new EP, Post Traumatic EP, it's three songs Mike Shinoda made to get out his chest his feelings about Chester's death. I think it is a great EP, with a mix of pop and rap in great songs and lyrics. See you! :)
After Bruce left, and then came back, to me, they were a different band. There are some moments when old Maiden shines through, but mostly they just sound different to me.
Really nice to see your reaction on the Wicker Man and on Nomad. Next, Dance of Death. My favorite album from Maiden. I'm eager to see your reaction. Let's keep it goin'!!
I think a big part of heavy metal is that some albums just have to grow on you after multiple listenings. You had a good long streak of Maiden that just immediately appealed to you, but after multiple listenings I think that this album will sound great to you. I was already a well established fan of Maiden for a few years when this came out. And maybe relief is a part of that. When you're a Maiden fan in 1999 and Bruce Fucking Dickinson is back in Maiden, you're like, "Yessss! There IS a God!" I was 18 when this album came out and this album was part of my first tattoo experience.
Like your reactions, and cool to see you like Maiden... But I gotta say, it's like you have ADD...You gotta give some of the longer songs a chance. The slow build ups have a pay off, and I'm not talking just Maiden.
Be sure to listen out for Nicko on the drums at the very end of the track "The Thin Line Between Love and Hate", if you turn it up full, you'll hear him say "Oh Fuck, I Missed It" followed by laughter from Bruce.
Here's the difference. For the fans, we waited 8 years for this (not 6 hours or so). Bruce was back, Adrian was back and then fans from the beginning who'd lost all hope on Blaze hit play on The Wicker Man. I get it on the slow intros though. It became kind of repetitive. Some highs on the rest of the album's but do yourself a favor and watch Live in Rio. And I knew that brush was coming out on the "Your time will Come". Epic as anything they ever did.
Fun video as always, just be careful you don't get too hung up on memes and catchphrases, "NASTY!", "LET'S GET SEXY, BABY!", "PLAY THEM STRINGS!", "AH-SKIP!", singing into the brush, throwing stuff at the camera, etc etc etc. Might wanna slow down with that stuff before it gets old.
One comment about the predictable build up, verse, chorus, hook thing...this is from a guy who has no more than 4 catchphrases which he uses almost without fail? ;) Love your videos but the critic can't escape criticism!
Very fair review. If you watch the Rock In Rio DVD, you'll see why some of these songs don't get the full effect until they're in a live setting. It's a great watch/listen!
I was so pumped that Bruce was back, that I bought this album at midnight on release day, and played it like crazy all year. In hindsight, I agree. It is only average. Half really good. Half really average or safe.
Man, have you seen Bruce sing live yet? If you haven’t, then you only ever know half how good he is. In fact, you need to see the whole band in action live. They absolutely kill it. Watch the Maiden England video from 1988 or Rock in Rio from 2001. You will jizz in your pants.
Another good review. Pretty much everything Iron Maiden produced after the return of Bruce follows this formula. Not that I am complaining.. over the years they have attracted many followers with many musical tastes.. so they are basically trying to please as many as possible at the same time.. meaning each album will have a diverse set of song styles. Great if ya like all of the styles.. not so great if you only like one or two of the styles. Guaranteed there will be at least some songs on each of the next few albums you will enjoy.. but expect them to be, again, 50/50 for ya. Enjoy what you can and on to the next. ;)
Daniel James I think every album is unique, when you're talking about them... The genre wouldn't be the same without them. I would like to see reactions to pretty much everything in folk metal, because it's a very different genre, Turisas, Korpiklaani, Finntroll, Eluveitie, Ensiferum, etc, are very distinct from each other, and that's the magic, also the unusual instruments.
My advice for this album - try to hear it in the same theatrical, "broadway" vein as Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. It's an album with moods and themes, that blends melody with a punch. Come back to it sometime - it's worth a second listen
I believe if you watch the Rock in Rio show from the BNW 2000 tour, you will have a change of heart, and will come to appreciate the things about the album that you didn’t know initially like.
Fantastic album ! Dream of Mirrors is an phenomenal song ! But man, listen, for the next two albums you will NEED to be patient with the songs with slow intro, almost everyone have one, but they gets heavier in the half of the song, so just be patient ;)
What did you think of the addition of the third guitarist here? You may notice it more moving forward or if you check out their live stuff. I see you're trying to be more patient with those slow build ups. That's good because you'll see a lot more of them on these last few albums. Most of them explode into some killer music.
I had the same reaction when I first heard this. The first song was KA BOOM then quickly the rest turned to snoring. GOJIRA or MEGADETH! or STEEL PANTHER!
Please do Bruce Dickinson's live album Scream for me Brazil. This was during his time off Iron Maiden, while one of Iron Maidens former guitarists was also in his Band. Its really an epic live capture
Blaze wrote a lot of the !lyrics for this album and some of them were written with blaze in mind some of them just weren't finished in time blaze should have sung blood brothers ,dream of mirrors , the mercenaries . Listen to blaze with Thomas zwijsen do blood brothers it is awesome
You gotta revisit Blood Brothers. Amazing track especially that second half. you gotta be patient and give them several listens. Dream of Mirrors, The Nomad, and ghost of the naviator also strong. Wicker Man is a good song and catchy, but its behind all those I just mentioned for me. And trust me there are other meh songs for me on all their albums, but try those I mentioned again a few times.
Xilegamer1 Option 1: videoshow app will paste together multiple videos into one Option 2: Record , Pause, Record, Pause, Record, Pause, and so on with no edits. You can only let 19seconds of music play in every snippet or face copywrite take down.
From here on the albums have longer, more progressive tracks. Bruce is getting older but his voice is still phenomenal for his age. Hope you can get some enjoyment outta the next few albums. Let's keep if Goin!
Blood Brothers is a BEAUTIFUL song... I feel like this guy is solely into Blast beats and Heavy Riffs and Speed. You should expand your tastes a little, my man. Some, of these tracks are absolute gems.
You should check out White Zombie and Rob Zombie. But specifically White Zombie's last 2 albums and Rob Zombie's first 2 albums. The rest are honestly pretty lackluster, but I think you'd really enjoy those 4 albums. And just to clarify, White Zombie is the name of Rob Zombie's band before he went solo later on.
Good comment at the end, that's the thing about a lot of heavy metal music it's often too predictable and personally gets annoying for me rather quickly. I often like to just slow the tempo down a little bit but some nice rhythm in there something with some soul like some Led Zeppelin and Rush
totally agree, its a skip album. So are many of th newer maiden albums, but they all have atleast a few great songs! a matter of life and death is their best after 2000's imo, and it has atleast 5 great sojngs
Guitar guy I think the opposite, it's their only album post Fear of the Dark worth listening to. Though the others game some great songs scattered between them (like For The Greater Good of God, I love that one).
You've entered the Third Era of Maiden where they've carved out their own version of a heavy-prog-metal sound & feel that is very Maiden-y. Personally, I feel that everything in this era has been high quality (the transition at the 4 minute mark of The Man Who Would Be King = f'n phenomenal!), but based on your reaction to Brave New World I suspect that the remaining four will also be hit-n-miss to you.
much better, the period between 97-06 was his absolute peak, not only could he sing the old stuff perfectly but he was able to sing stuf 80s dickinson wouldn't have been able to, his technique got much better and his voice was able endure the heavy touring, unlike in the 80s which is why his voice was very poor from 85 till the start of his solo career, the only thing he did better in the 80s is screaming, which was unbelievably good in 83 and NOTB isn't even his peak in the 80s, both piece of mind and powerslave have superior vocals plus that piece of mind tour
There are an essential number of beats per minute Iron Maiden is missing since No Prayer for the Dying. These dudes are getting old. If the songs are speed-up 4-8 bpm it would be more comfortable listening to... Since the epic period
Parts of this album and the later albums became a little to formulaic with Steve Harris being the only song writer. Bruce Dickinson solo albums 😁👍 killer stuff dude
Harris said, “If you see a credit with just my name on it, that means I write absolutely everything. Rhythm guitar parts, guitar melodies, vocal melodies, absolutely everything really. The only thing I don’t write is the guitar solos but even then I might suggest one or two things.”
that is true if you see JUST his name on it, however, as i said before, there have only been 5 songs on last 5 albums with only him getting the credit your second comment would be true only for first 2 albums, on the last 5 albums it has been quite the opposite since bruce came back, in recent albums you most often see 'one of the 3 guitarists, harris, dickinson' credits or 'a guitarist, harris'. in the 'a guitarist, harris, dickinson' credit it's most often that the guitarist writes the music, dickinson vocal melodies and lyrics and harris helps with what the other 2 do, and in the 'a guitarist credit, harris' he mostly writes vocal melodies and lyrics. the band and he himself have confirmed that he nowdays mostly arranges and helps with the lyrics, unlike in the 80s and 90s where he'd write a half of an album or even more by himself, it's even on his wikipedia page
MAN YOU LOOK LIKE A TRUE IRON MAIDEN FAN CELEBRATING BRUCE'S RETURN 19 YEARS LATER
Love you, man! Seriously
So true ... i felt the same way...... but still the x and virtual there are a few good songs..... when Bruce sing´s them.... Up the Irons!!!!
‘There’s a lot of slow buildups in this album.’
Err, you should probably get used to that. 😂
Blood brothers is not background. If you don't feel that one you are officially dead
manguy2000 I love this dude's reaction videos but he's not a music critic I would follow because he's highly inconsistent.
the slower songs on this album are actually some of my favourites. not gonna lie a little bit of me feels sad when he looks bored by them lol
2 tips: 1- get used to buildup. Trust me.
2- Listen to the albums more than once, sometimes Maiden can take a while to digest.
Luizvideotube 3. Watch live performances of these songs. I bet it'd change his thinking on a few tunes like Fear of the Dark.
Oh yeah. The studio version of Fear Of The Dark can be so bland, especially when compared to the Rock In Rio version.
Radio friendly? Ha! If only radio played 6 min plus songs.
Tony Stath well it was the 2000s, Nothing was daring anymore
He's baaaaaaaack
Bruce is back and he's here to stay :D
Well, until Maiden comes out of retirement, if they do.
alphaenemy They never went into retirement what are you talking about?
And he's back!
And the doomsday clock reads two minutes to midnight again.
The Ripper Not perfect because it feels too repetitive at times. But definitely their best album since Seventh Son.
Nothing wrong with slow build ups. Maiden are great at epics.
(I don't think he's reading this stuff anyway guys, he didn't know Bruce was back until he heard him).
The songs you don't like are some of their best songs. Blood Brothers in particular has become a live staple.
I don’t think there’s a bad song on this album
This album is amazing. There are only two songs that I would call average but the rest of the album is incredible. The next album is alright. In my opinion, all the albums after this one can't touch this one.
MJNation I feel like this is going to be a pointless exercise. The newer albums are never going to match the classics. Now it's just a case of if you're enough of a fan to keep playing the new releases. Fortunately Maiden's fanbase is huge, so they'll never go broke in that front.
In my opinion all the albums after this one are better.
MJNation I think their new stuff is criminally underrated tbh
I don't think he will enjoy the next albums but then again, you never know
MJNation They all have their strong points imo, paschendale and rainmaker are 2 from DoD i think he'll like and maybe reincarnation and longest day from the next one
This album is up there with the classics. Might be better than a few of them actually
I played the shit out of this album when it came out... Best album of that year for me.
Can we please have you react to their live Rock in Rio next!
jcrosato Yes that shit is glorious!!
jcrosato man I was 15 when this came out and I wasn't too keen on the blaze Bayley Era. When this album dropped it blew my mind man. Maiden was back an here to stay. Epic
Yeah he really needs to do some live reactions for them, Maiden is a live band.
There's nothing wrong with slow build ups, music is not about always going as fast and as hard and as loud as you can.
BruBruBRUUUUCE is back!!!
With this album was my first time watching Iron Maiden live. I was 20 and I still remember the huge avalanche when Bruce Dickinson came out on stage, a night I will never forget. This album is a true masterpiece.
You'd like queensryce. Similar singing style
Do a Judas Priest Marathon. The lead singer Rob Halford is fantastic as Bruce.
The Ripper if you can tolerate his voice
Have u seen, The One You Love To Hate? Halford and Bruce in one song
Papajjj: Yes man, i was shocked when i saw this for the first time. Two metal legends in one song. I Was like "OMG!!!!"
The Ripper fuck yeah the priest lol
Yeah
YO BOI IS BACK
Weird you didnt say anything about how some songs have many chorus repeats. Which is what youre gonna be hearing alot of on these next albums
Timo Thijssen That's one of the only things that I don't like about this album. And it's the reason I don't listen to 2000s and on Maiden albums. Some songs are great, but most of those albums are just too "prog" without much substance.
Blind Guardian - Imaginatios from the other side album
You should do Blind Guardian next, you're gonna love em (i think, from the way you reacted to maiden at least)
The long slow build songs grow on you but the first time I listened to this album I felt the same way. Now Blood Brothers is an all time favorite.
Dragonlady474 Yeah there's no doubt the style shifted a lot. Luckily for me I like both bands :)
Dragonlady474 I think the absence of Martin Birch is part of the reason.
I had just chalked it up to to them getting a bit older. Who is producing for them now?
Dragonlady474 Kevin Shirley. He produced early Dream Theater.
Kevin Shirley's bad production didn't help.
Fallen Angel and The Wicker Man is 2 of my favorite songs of Iron Maiden and they’ both on this album!!!!
Really nice to see your reaction on the Wicker Man and on Nomad. Next, Dance of Death. My favorite album from Maiden. I'm eager to see your reaction. Let's keep it goin'!!
Kamelot please!!!
I think a big part of heavy metal is that some albums just have to grow on you after multiple listenings. Like your reactions, and cool to see you like Maiden... But I gotta say, it's like you have ADD...You gotta give some of the longer songs a chance. The slow build ups have a pay off, and I'm not talking just Maiden.
Jason Mogensen completly agree
Pray he never tries Dream Theater or Opeth!
He already did a full DT marathon, and yes, he skipped everything with a slow intro.
B Well he actually loved Dream Theater- mostly the older albums.
Oh yeah
Be sure to listen out for Nicko on the drums at the very end of the track "The Thin Line Between Love and Hate", if you turn it up full, you'll hear him say "Oh Fuck, I Missed It" followed by laughter from Bruce.
The Mercenary underrated

Might wanna slow down with that stuff before it gets old.
IF YOU LIKED BRUCE SO MUCH YOU MUST MARATHON HIS SOLO CAREER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
React to GOJIRA.
In Flames first
One comment about the predictable build up, verse, chorus, hook thing...this is from a guy who has no more than 4 catchphrases which he uses almost without fail? ;) Love your videos but the critic can't escape criticism!

Contrary to popular opinion, I think you'll like Dance of Death more.
I just wanna see his reactions on some folk metal albums...
Eluveitie would be a great way to start
ALittleOfMusic brutal slam death metal😂😂
Nicki Collis HAHAHAHAHAHA
Give him some Dying Fetus, those soft ears need some work
Eluviete is good, most of their older stuff, anything where they don't have that female vocalist singing.
Or Ayreon, Avantasia, Edguy
My advice for this album - try to hear it in the same theatrical, "broadway" vein as Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. It's an album with moods and themes, that blends melody with a punch. Come back to it sometime - it's worth a second listen
Doesn't even matter if you didn't love this album as much as me, since you understood Somewhere in Time, that's all that matters :^)
this is my favorite album from maiden
thank you for the reaction
When you get back to those songs you will probably love them.
I believe if you watch the Rock in Rio show from the BNW 2000 tour, you will have a change of heart, and will come to appreciate the things about the album that you didn’t know initially like.
Fantastic album ! Dream of Mirrors is an phenomenal song !
But man, listen, for the next two albums you will NEED to be patient with the songs with slow intro, almost everyone have one, but they gets heavier in the half of the song, so just be patient ;)
he don't have the patience XD.
Yeah, I know haha
What did you think of the addition of the third guitarist here? You may notice it more moving forward or if you check out their live stuff. I love this man more and more each day. I love his reaction videos 👍
3:40 lmao!! even though I love this song, your "bored" look cut was freakin priceless!! hahaha
Fantastic my friend the up's the irons forever ...😎🎵🎼🎶
I think Opeth - Deliverance will be fantastisc, if not one of the greatest things you will ever hear.
Make it an Opeth marathon!!
Rick Duijs totaly agree with that !
I had the same reaction when I first heard this. The first song was KA BOOM then quickly the rest turned to snoring.
GOJIRA or MEGADETH!
or STEEL PANTHER!
All the rest of the albums are incredible now
Please do Bruce Dickinson's live album Scream for me Brazil. This was during his time off Iron Maiden, while one of Iron Maidens former guitarists was also in his Band. Its really an epic live capture
Man more you listen the songs ... more they gonna grow in you. It happened to all of us 😊
The next two albums are love it or hate it.
Instead of "radio friendly" I think the word you're looking for is "formulaic"
Blaze wrote a lot of the !lyrics for this album and some of them were written with blaze in mind some of them just weren't finished in time blaze should have sung blood brothers ,dream of mirrors , the mercenaries . Listen to blaze with Thomas zwijsen do blood brothers it is awesome
Recat to slayer?
Redog
refunny!
He won't like slayer. He doesn't like the thrash sound
Recatac to slacatlayer
Bet $20 that he's not a fan... I think that he might like Skid Row, though.
That's how a real fan reacts to the return of Bruce Dickinson :D
You gotta revisit Blood Brothers. Amazing track especially that second half. you gotta be patient and give them several listens. Dream of Mirrors, The Nomad, and ghost of the naviator also strong. Wicker Man is a good song and catchy, but its behind all those I just mentioned for me. And trust me there are other meh songs for me on all their albums, but try those I mentioned again a few times.
Hey I've made two metalhead reacts to rap videos and I was wondering what are you recording with camera and stand wise?
Xilegamer1
Option 1: videoshow app will paste together multiple videos into one
Option 2: Record , Pause, Record, Pause, Record, Pause, and so on with no edits.
You can only let 19seconds of music play in every snippet or face copywrite take down.
Thanks man! I've been trying to watch how much song I let play because I know how brutal a copyright strike can be. Keep up the great work!
you nuts my friend!
Have they ever played the song Nomad live?
AMOLAD79 sadly no
Every album from here is mostly slow build up. Can see you not liking the rest much.
From here on the albums have longer, more progressive tracks. Bruce is getting older but his voice is still phenomenal for his age. Hope you can get some enjoyment outta the next few albums. Let's keep if Goin!
Dream of Mirrors is my favorite Maiden song.

Good comment at the end, that's the thing about a lot of heavy metal music it's often too predictable and personally gets annoying for me rather quickly. I often like to just slow the tempo down a little bit but some nice rhythm in there something with some soul like some Led Zeppelin and Rush
Bruce Dickinson - "The Chemical Wedding".
totally agree, its a skip album.
Walamonga 1313 i get it. It's probably because its the first Maiden album i heard
Guitar guy Which one?
How can you not like the title track xD
My personal favorite, but there's a couple grows in there.
mastodon?
You've entered the Third Era of Maiden where they've carved out their own version of a heavy-prog-metal sound & feel that is very Maiden-y. Personally, I feel that everything in this era has been high quality (the transition at the 4 minute mark of The Man Who Would Be King = f'n phenomenal!), but based on your reaction to Brave New World I suspect that the remaining four will also be hit-n-miss to you.
After Iron Maiden you need to do Judas Priest
Brazil rock n roll.😎 rock n rio my brothers.
I knew you'd love Wicker Man and The Mercenary
you know what is good music! jejeje if somebody give you a dislike is because is surely a fucking regetenero
you should watch the live dvd's...
You’ve got to remember that Bruce is getting old as well
bruce was at his peak at that time
Kitomir you saying Bruce was better here than when he sang Number of the Beast?
much better, the period between 97-06 was his absolute peak, not only could he sing the old stuff perfectly but he was able to sing stuf 80s dickinson wouldn't have been able to, his technique got much better and his voice was able endure the heavy touring, unlike in the 80s which is why his voice was very poor from 85 till the start of his solo career, the only thing he did better in the 80s is screaming, which was unbelievably good in 83
and NOTB isn't even his peak in the 80s, both piece of mind and powerslave have superior vocals plus that piece of mind tour
THE GOD IS BACK !!!
I appreiate that you're finally making an effort to not skip past every song that starts slow. I know its bugged a lot of people around here.
There are an essential number of beats per minute Iron Maiden is missing since No Prayer for the Dying. These dudes are getting old. If the songs are speed-up 4-8 bpm it would be more comfortable listening to... Since the epic period
You should react to Angra!
Parts of this album and the later albums became a little to formulaic with Steve Harris being the only song writer. Bruce Dickinson solo albums 😁👍 killer stuff dude
what? steve had only 5 songs that he wrote by himself on the last 5 albums
Harris said, “If you see a credit with just my name on it, that means I write absolutely everything. Rhythm guitar parts, guitar melodies, vocal melodies, absolutely everything really. The only thing I don’t write is the guitar solos but even then I might suggest one or two things.”
the rest of the band has said harris writes most of the material, they help with arrangement and pitch in ideas.
that is true if you see JUST his name on it, however, as i said before, there have only been 5 songs on last 5 albums with only him getting the credit
your second comment would be true only for first 2 albums, on the last 5 albums it has been quite the opposite since bruce came back, in recent albums you most often see 'one of the 3 guitarists, harris, dickinson' credits or 'a guitarist, harris'. in the 'a guitarist, harris, dickinson' credit it's most often that the guitarist writes the music, dickinson vocal melodies and lyrics and harris helps with what the other 2 do, and in the 'a guitarist credit, harris' he mostly writes vocal melodies and lyrics. the band and he himself have confirmed that he nowdays mostly arranges and helps with the lyrics, unlike in the 80s and 90s where he'd write a half of an album or even more by himself, it's even on his wikipedia page
