Yes sir you are correct! Rolex diver bread and butter is the Submariner Date. That's the more desirable version and takes longer to get. Rolex always puts more effort into the Date versions. The Date gets the red lines of text, first to get solid end links and solid bracelets, first to get a sapphire crystal, first to get a unidirectional bezel, first to get a chronometer spec movement. It gets precious metal options, dial/bezel color options. It's a more premium product. If Rolex were smart and not cheap out on using all left over materials. Rolex could make a no date Submariner with fully graduated hash mark on the bezel, print a two line dial, and engrave the superlative chronometer officially certified crap on the case back. Offer a matte dial (no AR coating needed no glossy dial reflection). Also offer it with a rubber strap option. If Rolex wants to get back to it's roots. They can make the no date Submariner back into a tool dive watch. Dive watches never really needed a date complication. It will set the date and no date apart. They might save money on production costs, and the same effort building the no date Subs. Give the desk divers the date Sub, and the enthusiast a proper dive watch. That's just me

Lol Just sold my Omega, same model Saphire, for the sub. Not One sec I regret my descision. The sub wairs comfortable with the new dimentions. Better the the old model I had before. The new model 124060 is way better then the older model sub. Better weight balance, great clasp.

I kinda like that milky ring, it is a moonwatch and that ring gives it a moon look, nobody talks about that.

Funny enough that you do confirm the rarity of the 124060 over the date one but suggest to go for the Date one. To me, that's the whole point when I select a model: I want to feel unique. I also want to feel as close as possible to the true original DNA. In addition to symmetry and simplicity, that's what the reference 124060 (No Date) is all about, explaining why it was my choice. And like you said: "Just my thoughts" :)

I've owned both of these. No way does the Sub wear bigger than a Speedy. The Sub is chunkier, but the Speedy has a larger footprint.

1:30pm middle of the day and the insects came out in a frenzy like it was night time. Sirens going off, helicopters in the air, fireworks and dogs barking. People out in the streets. Couldn’t miss it if I tried. What my eyes saw and what this camera picked up is not even close. Felt like I was looking into a portal. Absolutely stunning and spooky and peaceful. Wow
