    Another Falkirk "Bairn" here. Auld enough to remember these two canals and the horse drawn barges.
    The wheel is a masterpiece of engineering and the Kelpies awe inspiring.
    Used to play on Antonines Wall though there's not much of the construction left.
    I now live in Canada but I have visited both. Very proud of my auld town and it's history. You are walking along paths of my childhood. Thank you. 🇨🇦

    Love your “Wee Broon Van” travels. Originally from Dundee , now living in the Yukon Territory in Canada, your stories fill me with nostalgia a great appreciation for my homeland. I visited“ The Kelpies” two years ago and have the souvenir magnet on my fridge. Thanks for happy memories.❤️🐕‍🦺

    Just watched "Foxes Afloat" on a narrowboat going on that. Absolutely fascinating and scary too. I didn't know they took tour boats on it too. Wow.

    great wee video, Love the Kelpies, we managed to see the Babies in NY as we spent 2 years in USA! We came home on hols 2017 and did the falkirk wheel Kelpies and surrounding area, lovely to see them again. Just hope it not long till we get back home for a visit. keep safe you guys. Janie

    Great travel journey, I was so fascinated with the wheel and it’s cool you showed us from all angles. I like how you keep showing it mixed into the walking portions! Bravo! Absolutely amazing sculptures of the horses both at daylight and night! When Tricia was showing where all you were going to walk….I was already tired by her first walking map tour 🤣🤣 Glad you kept some for another day 👍 Thanks for taking us along!!

    As a “Falkirk Bairn”, it was so good to see you visiting our Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies in your Wee Broon Van.
    Glad you enjoyed the experience.
    My In-Laws stay a couple of hundred yards from the Wheel, and we always popped up to the canal bank to watch it being constructed.
    It’s a fascinating piece of engineering. 😊👍🏻

    Went there yesterday in the rain, had a tour round inside one of the kelpies, amazing sight from the inside.

      @@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot yes we had a great time,our 3rd time round the 500 lol, 1st time was 2009 before it had the name nc 500, that was on motorcycles, then again in our campervan in 2016 and this one with our neighbours along for the trip in their caravan.

    Lovely job. The Kelpies are amazing sculptures. Didn’t realise you can stay in the car park mind you we had a caravan then. So many things to see and do in that area. Enjoyed it so thanks for sharing 👍

    I really look forward to yours and life is too short videos. On my visits to Scotland I enjoyed many of the places you go to. You mentioned calendar house which I visited because part of outlander was filmed there. The duke of sandringham had his head chopped off in the callender house kitchen😁. Great video, and thanks for sharing

    The Kelpies are close to where l grew up, l lived just down the road from the wheel, they certainly are spectacular, l watched a very good documentary showing the making of the Kelpies think it was on netflix but have a look for it maybe on you tube too, certainly worth watching.
    I really enjoyed this video as it was my hometown, it brought back so many memories , of course the Kelpies were not there at that time, but l remember many walks along the canal with my dad telling me all the history of Falkirk, Antonines wall etc. 🌞

      Its a special place, so much history and beauty all around, so many people just don't know how lovely it is around there and as you know, so much more than just the Kelpies.

      Then l moved to Livingston then Scotlandwell before moving to Florida, l really loved Scotlandwell tiny wee village in Fife.

    I've seen them a few times passing by and it was great to see them up close. I didn't know there were two small ones either 🤔 , very interesting. I've been on the wheel a couple of times but that was a while ago and it looks like they have Improved on the experience. You always fill your vlogs with interesting snippets of information and this latest one doesn't disappoint. I've never heard that about the bridge before although I'm familiar with the term " greeting " for crying or even whingeing 🙂. It's great to see places that I know up in Scotland and I'm glad to see a few that I've not previously been to. Keep them coming. I'm putting all of them in a list in the hope of coming up in the early Autumn all being well.

      Thanks Nigel, its a fascinating area to have a walk around at the back of the wheel, with Antonines wall and the canal walk through Prospect Hill and the laughin' greetin' Bridge, and a lot of people don't know about these hidden gems. Glad we're giving you a few ideas.

    Pretty sure I drove past you guys in my work van a couple of weeks ago around lunchtime on the Linlithgow to Westfield road near Avon Gorge a couple of weeks ago.After passing I thought ...The wee broon van.

      It was the baby ones that threw me. We saw the big ones from the road on an excursion to Edinburgh. We also went to a few other places on your videos. Glenturret distillery, falls of Dochart. Cheap way for us southerners to see Scotland. Couldn't do it any cheaper in a van, fuel, food, etc.

      Didnt try it no, it was a bit of a rush to get the tickets so just in and out again, but we find great tablet in lots of places in Scotland, along with as you say, so many treasures👍

    Fabulous vlog, thank you both for sharing. I have just been looking at little cl sites in the area so we can make a decent break of our trip to both sites. The info about the area around the Falkirk Wheel is really good and has helped me with my plans. Think I'll leave it till a bit later in the summer though so that it's darker a bit earlier 😅 x

      Thats a good plan, darker is better, and would recommend that walk along the canal, and maybe you can make it as far as the aqueduct which we were disappointed not to reach, but will go back and do that another day.

    I think I'll go stay at the kelpies, it's just 20 mins away so why not. Papa johns pizza and some beers sounds like fun. Can you park anywhere or just up at the top part?

    That was very interesting. I recommend you have a look at Foxes Afloat channel on RUclips, vlog number 183. They very recently did the whole journey you covered in your video. Might give you a different perspective.
    The Kelpies looked fantastic especially at night.

    Better off stopping at the Falkirk wheel £15 and you get a key to the toilets all night only 20 to 30 minute walk to the kelpies

      Easy done. I was surprised that the footage came out in the tunnel, it was so dark, it was lucky that I had a head torch in my bag.
