I’ve used those white and blue Millers for flux core, overlay and gouging at my work. Great for those kinds of jobs. They are my favourite. But I have bought those Prostar Tigs for years when I was doing that kind of work. Just getting back into Tig now so looking for brands. Thanks!
I’ve been using BSX brand welding gloves. I’m a woman, so their special line for ladies gloves is pretty good. I have smaller hands so they definitely do the trick. 👌🏼
@@PacificArcTigWelding Sweet. If color options are available black with red stitching or one just like the one in the video would be awesome. I don't usually wear logo stuff but would proudly wear that hat and support the channel any way I can.
Is there anyway to keep your air cooled torch from getting smoking hot? I’m just learning tig so doing a lot of bead on plate just running the torch over and over and as you know it gets HOT. Anything you can really do for it other then just take a while between beads
I see people use the Tig Finger (heat pad for your finger) and wrap it around the torch head. I find just taking a bit of time and putting my torch draped over a fan I have next to me helps a lot. A bit annoying but all good:)

For me, two things matter for gloves for TIG. Flexibility, and heat resistance. The problem is that the two don’t go together. Sometimes I’m tigging some 22 or 24 gauge stainless and the edges are coming together at 90 degrees. I often have to pinch those edges together with my thumb and forefinger. Then they’re just a half inch from the arc. I’m welding without a rod, and blasting it with 60 amps for short bursts, and it can cause the glove to smoke, and yeah, I feel it. MiG gloves better resist the heat, but are too thick to let me grab anything. Finger pads are too clumsy for TIG, I find. I just have to be careful. I sometimes wear leather arm sleeves if I have short sleeves. I don’t find one brand different from another. If they’re the same style, they’re all the same. Astronaut gloves are special gloves that seal to the arm, and cost, I’ve read, about $20,000 a pair.
🤯😹 Man they better handle better than these ones then for that much money!💰💰💰 And you’re absolutely right about the dexterity/protection dilemma. Hopefully someday someone puts out some perfect ones!
No, they don’t. But they have electrical lines and warm water lines inside to protect against minus 250 degrees in a spacewalk for several hours. Of course they have stainless cuffs that lock to the arm for vacuum sealing, and have to withstand the internal suit pressure. They also don’t make that many. I had the privilege some years ago of wearing them for a short period. The tools are designed to work with those gloves, and I was also able to try some of them. Welding glove manufacturers are somewhat behind the times. I have high heat gloves for melting crucible work that work better, and are almost as flexible, but would need modification for welding. Nobody does that. Maybe someday.
how about making a set of gloves from the same material that tig finger is made out of? I'd buy a pair. So far tried the defiant metal gloves; the 1472*F rated barbecue gloves and still feel heat through all of them. The ceramic insulation is a real deal. I can hold a 1/4" sheet of ceramic insulation on my hand with a blow torch full blast on it and not feel a thing.
I rock the Tillman 25bl for Tig and for mig/flux core and stick I use the Tillman 750, the Tillman 850, and the black stallion 850, I've been welding since 2016 and I will probably only ever use these gloves
Q: Do you wear out one hand faster than the other? I wouldn’t wear glove one with synthetic. Glove two looks close to the Tillman I line and is my vote for tig. I have long thinner fingers and hate baggy gloves. Glove 4 would be good for grabbing out of the forge through dragons breath I suppose. Otherwise no.
Hey if you making your own gloves, make sure you use good leather, becauzse i have some noname welding gloves like the secound pair you have showed, and if you unintentionally touch something very hot, they tempt to contract and become very hard and then you wount be able to put your fingers in all the way... and that sucks.
I just had to chime in. The white and blue Miller gloves he is complaining that he won’t be able to feel the tig rod….and they how they are poor quality for tig welding…..that’s because those are Miller Mig Gloves he in this video. Miller has a lighter weight pair of gloves for tig welding. Just had to make this comment because I use Miller gloves at both with and home and they are very good gloves. I also hate seeing people misinformed about a welding product. So just to clear that up…..these gloves in the video are not Miller tig gloves…..they are millers medium weight mig gloves.
Just got an order that had a pair of Tillman 24’s in medium, they feel good, I wish glove manufacturers would get the fingers tighter, yeah they made the fingers shorter, but my fingers are still swimming around in them. Haven’t tried with tig yet, I’m a noob. I’ve been using deerskin all purpose or driving gloves I think, I’d never drive in them. I’ve got small hands and have struggled to find the “right” gloves so far. Oh, the mechanic gloves do suck for tig welding! IMO.

Frank I appreciate that a lot. Happy to contribute. 🙏
Hi handsome, I just bought the tillman 1150 and 850s. I love the brand. More videos , do you weild using Lazer welding?
Welding gloves are badass....I need to use them for my Blackberry bushes!
Thanks for sharing your experience. 👍😎👍
Absolutely my friend!

I have small hands too for the record 😂 Good to heat what you rock though! Thanks for reaching out!
Female Welder RIGHT ON I am starting welding school August
I'd also be interested in some P.A.T.W. gloves. Black with red details would be cool. I like the hat you had on the table too. Are those available?
They will be! You’ll be the first to know my man!

You should do a review on the everlast 210ext, since you still haven’t told us if you like it or not.
Filming it this weekend! Thanks for the suggestion:) Spoiler Alert tho- it’s an awesome machine;)

The super thin Tillman golf style gloves have been definitely my favorite
Yes! Good mitts for sure!
I have all gloves If you want so contact me..
Those Tillman kid skins (goat) are nice.

With tig gloves do you go one size bigger

The 3rd glove reviews (your favorite) Are those the caiman 1868 model?
I would definitely be interested in a couple pair I’m hard on them.

I’m gonna try these out ty !
I would be very interested in gloves that you would have designed. I think it takes a welder to properly design a welding glove.
I would buy some gloves if you make them one day
😁 🤘🤘
Awesome! Be a bit of a wait for shipping for you tho!😂🍻

Bsx tigster is the best I have used all types easy clean slide when actually doing welding on aluminum
I've been using the Black Stallion 35kcr gloves, very cheap and long lasting in my opinion
Can you please review of georgina gloves
Tillman 24 kidskin. Great feel.

Very important. I think I had a pair that I owned that contracted and felt like rough wood. If he makes good gloves, I would buy them.
@@arnoldkokonyame too😅
Most definitely. A lot of the soft leather will misshape over time, so it’ll be key to find some that are a little more durable:)
I use tilman myself
Good brand! Sturdy mitts💪💪💪
Oh, come on. Tigster Black Stallion

2 min in and this dude still yapping... Can't stand these time wasting videos.
