    I really appreciate you giving examples and going into more details than most people do. Also, I totally agree with your no-spend idea! Thank you for being realistic! I've actually avoided budgeting videos because they intimidate me, but I'm glad I watched this one :)

    This budget planner is very attractive....it will be interesting to watch you use it throughout the next few weeks. The accessories pack and your own printables certainly helps personalize it.

    I have the same planner. I changed the days of the week to spending categories for the month. That way all the grocery spending is in the same column for example and easy to add up. I listed spending by day the last couple of years and it was a pain to add up the spending for categories. My categories are: grocery, household, pets, medical, personal me, personal hubs, date nights, pool, gifts, gas, car maintenance, trips home, vacation and miscellaneous. Not every category has spending but by covering the days of the week, changing them to categories, all my monthly variable spending is on two pages right across from one another in one view.

    I’m struggling setting up my budget planner. I’m used to the big vertical and a lot of your printables. I tried downsizing to classic and have already failed 😞 lol back to big verticle with your printables, and I’ll get The Kell’s budget sticker book to personalize! 😂

    I do no spend on groceries in January and February. I use what I have. It saves me a ton of money

      That's great! What about things like milk or produce?

    • @LindaASJ

      have a MioMat machine so I make my own oat and or almond milk. I’ll choose something other than eggs for breakfast like oats or I make my own granola if I want dry cereal. There’s super easy no knead bread recipes, because nobody has the time or energy to knead bread. I mix my bread up at night and throw it in the oven in the morning.
      My grocery budget is around $375-$500 a month for 2 people so to have an extra $1000 in my pocket is great

      This is a GREAT idea. I’m going do it also. I’m hopefully moving and need to eat down my pantry and freezer.

      I’m excited too! Since I don’t have any beneficiaries, I don’t really need life insurance yet- maybe in the future, but I’d rather those funds go to other categories for now!

    I love the no spend for just a category. Doing no spend at all is really intense and I feel like for me personally it sets me up to fail.

      Yes, it's so much more manageable with just one category! Also helps build healthier spending habits

    Since your goals include making a couple extra mortgage payments, I’d suggest looking into making automatic reduced bi-weekly payments. Your mortgage company can set it up and usually requires making one payment in advance. Over the life of your loan it saves you interest because you are consistently reducing the principle a couple weeks early. You also make an extra payment automatically by making 26 “half” payments a year. Hope that makes sense.

    • @pitterpatti1958
      @pitterpatti1958 6 месяцев назад

      @@megcarter3608 I’ve never had an issue setting this up with the three mortgage companies I have worked with. I was even able to do it online with my latest one. You can also pre-pay on your own or pay extra towards principle at any time. I just prefer this automatic way, and it helps with budgeting once it’s set up.

    I have several subscriptions/bills which are smaller, recurring like peacock, paramount, Disney, Roku, Life360, etc. would you put those on the subscription page? Or, the bills? I never know how to keep up with all those things.
