"Sirap Bandung" usually is rose syrup with condensed milk hence the floral smell and taste. Some interesting variations add cream soda to the mix for a fizzier version (watch out for some curdling happening when the ratios are not right) and added grass jelly (cincau) for "sirap bandung cincau" for bits that add texture to the drink (think boba). The ultimate version is the one you get when you leave Ais Batu Campur (aka "ABC" - a mixed shaved ice dessert) to melt completely into a mix of syrup, milk, beans, corn, jelly etc 😛
That Bandung drink is made from Rose Syrup with condense milk. You should try the original Rose Syrup with lime will be much more yummy and refreshing. 👌
Hey Skye for some reason I could tell you have a little Yardie in you!🇯🇲 I'm so happy finding your videos, I really enjoy watching your contents! I'm planning a trip to Malaysia for a month too. Enjoy and ill be watching!😍❤
Just a little info, Bandung is a city in Jawa. I don't know why d Malaysian call d drink bandung, it's actually rose syrup with condensed n evaporated milk. There's also a noodle dish called mee bandung. 😁
Sirap bandung ais is iced rose syrup with condensed milk. The soup is best to have with a chinese spoon. A table spoon of cili kicap (dark soy sauce blended with chilli) would enhance the taste entirely (the jar soup seller pointed at). Overall i really enjoy u and charlie's adventure. Looking forward for more.
if you aware in jalan alor you don't see many local eat there.... but at tapak there are a lots of local eat there... if you want a great food with a great price, eat at the place that many local people go
I'm getting hungry when watching your video😂 it's okay you may not like some food because not all food suit for everyone but there're still more food waiting you to try out😍😍
Rose syrup is a cordial that can easily be found in the stores. It is a concentrate so you dilute it before you drink. You can either drink it by itself or add other flavours to it. One of the things you can add is another cordial called orange squash, also usually sold at the same section as rose syrup. It is also a concentrate. You can add equal amounts of each into a cup or different ratios of each according to your preference. Again add water to it. Yet another cordial you can add is lime squash. You can also add lime squash to gin to get gin and lime. In this case you do not dilute it but drink it straight or on the rocks. There are a few brands of the cordial and I recommend F & N. As for gin, I suggest Gordon's
Wow.. the lamb rice looks so good. With regards to the gearbox soup, you were meant to shave the meat from the bone, that's why they usually would give you a knife with it. And to drink the marrow, sometimes we like to just pour in a little soup in there first and then drink it up. You'd pour in some soup in the bone, then use the straw to mix it up and break it up, then drink it. It'd go great with some rice too. Nice video :D
@@SkyeSamuels i mean village in johor malacca, penang, u will find more great food, such asam pedas, daging salai, laksa, n traditional kuih, try go PASAR MALAM food, u will like it, thanks to promote malaysia, Greeting from JOHOR.....
By the way, just something share with you if you are having plans to heading up North of Peninsula Malaysia to Penang or heading down South to Johor then you can probably checkout this express bus company called Aeroline, where you can pick up the bus from Corus Hotel on Jalan Ampang nearby KLCC and that is off course if you decide to travel by land rather than by flight. Anyway enjoy your food trip in KL
Stumbled across this video. Awesome vlog. Not having enough money to try out Malaysian food is certainly a crisis. Lol. Anyway, if would like to have a heritage tour in KL, just hit me up. If you're interested of course. (p.s, I'm an architectural graduate and done some heritage revitalization works in KL)
Bandung, Rose Syrup Beverage. Milk added to give a robust flavor. Once I experimented in Canada, mixing brandy, milk and Bandung, Rose Syrup. Think I sleep better that night. LoL HuGGs
Gearbox soup is all about the bone marrow inside, which ideallyl has 2 components, the main one has similar texture to ox brain ( hahah! 😜 yup, that's something else you need to try if you haven't already, but I've never known any eatery selling that delicacy ) so it's supposed to be a bit rubbery chewy on the outside but very soft, creamy and some sweetness in the inside. The other component is jelly like, watery, and also jiggly fat like. Air bandung is red/rose syrup, then the milk will turn the color into pink. It's sweet more than anything, best with ice cubes. But when I was a schoolkid, my favorite was bandung soda - bandung + schweppes' ice cream soda, yum!!! 😋 Problem is, schweppes hasn't come up with their ice cream soda any more for many many years now, but you know what, I found schweppes cream soda in amsterdam!!! Yup they don't call it ice cream soda, just cream soda, but it's still that same smooth creamy drink! 😋
I would never suggest Bandung to any foreigners, for its hard to digest the taste unless u grown up with condense milk and red syrup. But frm a foodie traveller pov, I will definitely try it, but maybe in a much smaller cup first 😅 I'd even cheekily ask for a sample first. Do it! Malaysian hawkers are very generous!
Gearbox soup it’s a cow/ lamb bones, and that slimy thing is actually the main reason malaysian eats Gearbox soup tho😂 but you don’t like it😂 it’s okay, it’s a good experience isn’t
I usually pay using the QR payment method which is easier using my phone app. I didn't know whether it is applicable for international bank accounts or not.
nowadays malaysian is going to adapt with cashless payments. many restaurants or food stalls offer this type of payment. but be careful to not overspend 🤣 i think you should ask the seller about the food you want to buy. how it taste spicy or not, how to eat them etc. so that you can enjoy the food like a local 🤣 i myself as a local, never tried gearbox soup 😅 but i want to..
Hi guys..Tomorrow night (10th September) there will be a Borneo music & dance traditional event at Jalan Raja, Kuala Lumpur (infront of Dataran Merdeka starts @ 8.30pm. If you're still in Kuala Lumpur, I hope you'll be there to enjoy Malaysia diversities. 😊
one thing about Malaysia is..the city hall required a compulsory typhoid vaccines for those that want to open business that related with food and drink, the seller have to attend course in food and drink handling SOP as well..if city hall find out the seller not fullfill their duty in hygenic handling food and drink...the city hall will take action by banned their license and they will get high amout of fine🏛️💰
after this...just buy food that you can't eat....or google it first....just last your previous video...Wanjo Nasi lemak...you dont like spicy but you eat with sambal kerang(shell) and sambal sotong(squid).....then you make that face....
