    The Islamic authority will look for the new moon at sunset on the 29th day of fasting (29th Ramadan/Thursday) around the country. If the new moon is sighted, then the next day is the start of the new month (1 Syawal aka Eidulfitri aka Hari Raya). If no new moon then we continue fasting for the 30th day (Friday) 😅 & the start of 1 Syawal will be on Saturday. The place for the moon sighting in KL is at KL Tower.

    The small donut thing is called kuih keria. They use sweet potatoes, fried and coated with sugar syrup.

    • @suhaimiabdazais
      @suhaimiabdazais Год назад +9

      Not kuih keria.. that is kuih penderam.. kuih keria is different..

      @ashtriana1 Год назад +2

      @@suhaimiabdazais i agree with you it is kuih peneram/deram/telinga ke***g...this made from a dough mixture of rice flour and palm sugar then deep fried.
      There is also another snack make from this same mixture but its thinner and pour through a slotted container,into the oil to cook, called 'karas'
      And kuih keria/gelang is made from sweet potato dough fried then glazed with either white sugar or oalm sugar

    Wow you spend a lot for two people. In my experience spending for three usually does not exceed RM35. That's a lot of food to eat. Have a good taste. You both are funny, fund to watch.
    If you go to the same bazar Ramadan try to find fried Cempedak. There are two types of Jack fruit in Malaysia. One is called Nangka which is good to eat fresh. And another type called Cempedak which is good to eat when fried with flour. Both types are named as Jack fruit in the English Dictionary but they are actually different species. Apparently it is almost the same but the texture is different and the sweetness is also different. The majority of Malaysians love fried Cempedak.

    When you next go to a Pasar Malam (night market opens at 6:30pm to 7pm), you must try the ah-pong (2-3 varieties) or apum. It is like a folded pancake spread with margarine, sugar and nuts version. Another version is with coconut flavor in it. The latter is better. My Aussie wife loves it!
