Don't Lose Your Waypoints!! LakeMaster Maps & Humminbird

I made a huge mistake not researching the LakeMasters card better. This video is showing you what happened to me and how I lost my waypoints. I also show how to not let this happen to you. I'm sure someone will be glad they watched this. Thanks for your support! Please subscribe!

Wow Tallion, I am so sorry that happened to you. I also thought that the wpts would automatically be saved to the lake card.
Bless you for sharing this horrible thing that has happened to your unit. I really appreciate you for taking the time to teach your viewers the proper steps to save the wpts!!
I know what I will be doing this afternoon. I must have about a thousand wpts saved from the KDFW, plus ones I have added. I have the hummingbird helix 10 shared to a helix7 and will back up both units. I only use them for navigation and wpts since I use the GLS so much.
I really enjoy your channel. You put out some great content, especially the how too videos.

So sorry this happened to you! I’m old school with old school electronics, so I mark my “waypoints” on my old Atlantic Map that’s made out of paper. Old fashioned I know, but it’s never failed me. Great teaching lesson for us all.

Sorry to hear about your loss of waypoints. I found HumminbirdPC a good way to backup and save waypoints. It also allows overlaying waypoints using Google Earth.

I was wondering if they saved to my sd card. Guess I need to export them asap.
You would think if you inserted a SD card. That the unit would have an option or automatically save waypoints to the SD card.
My thermal scope saves everything to the SD card or the unit. You jist select where you want it.
That may be something they need to implement in the future.

Great video. Thanks.for sharing. I have the same set up as you except my front unit and console unit and not networked and I'm only using 1 Lakemaster card on the console unit. How can I combine my waypoints from both units? Can I download from each unit on the same SD card? Any suggestions without the network hub? Thanks

If you had both of your helix units linked would they have saved your data? Mine are linked and wzypoints are on both units

no they will not save unless you put in a sd card and export to the card.
