FINALLY Someone who know more than 1 most popular songs from these artist. Great song picks. And also... I wonder how thick my steings should be so I could tune them in A Standard. 12-60?
@ this is the jackson dinky 7 string. It gets the job done, but it would probably perform better with a new set of tuners and a different bridge pickup tbh. I personally like the challenge of harnessing a budget instrument tho
Never realised how creative Korn was with time signatures, they did some prog shit back in the day. Also, didn't expected one of my favourite Deftones songs on the list, When Girls Telephone Boys Amazing video man!!! Hey, what would be your best advice for someone (me) struggling with a hard song on guitar ??
Cheers, thanks for watching! Agreed, Korn’s musicianship was super underrated! For learning a hard song, you really want to make sure that you can play each digestible part separately, and slow down the tempo while maintaining the feel of each part. If you’re ever interested in some private instruction, I offer remote guitar lessons, feel free to email me at eastvillageguitarmethod@gmail.com
I can vouch for D as a guitarist and guitar teacher. I've been taking lessons with him for 1.5+ years and WOW! Our lessons are the highlight of my week!!!!
I like the video mostly but you played when girls telephone boys wrong it changes from the 2nd fret of the low G# to a higher note on the last part of the phrase before it repeats its a one off hit but its absence is is absolutely noticeable
@@Burythelie they’re a lot of fun to mess around with! This one is Jackson’s low-end 7 string plays pretty good, tho I do need to put a different set of tuners in
The problem is brother, Now I just want to play , rock this , drink beer and not learn any thing, its great ! haha , Thanks Bro :) (haha!). Thank you for the Vid.
@@thewholethingithinkissic the effect I used may have been a little different than what was used on the album. I used a whammy pedal but it may have been a little more accurate with a more standard octave pedal
The phrase "it sounds like they just throw their instruments down the stairs" fits first time when I heard that 2003 Deftones song.
In the best way possible! lol
@@eastvillageguitarmethoddd no, it's just annoying noise ;)
Finally a nu metal Video that contains the Real good stuff and not always the same Pop Nu metal tracks we have in literally every video
That was my intention here! So many good songs and riffs that get overlooked by a lot of people
Man that is one of my favorite Deftones songs if not the favorite. Nice work!
Cheers, thanks! It’s one of my favorites too
You had me at DEFTONES. hahahahaha. Super video and sick playing!!! 🎸🎸
Deftones are the best!! Probably the most consistent band that came from this era. Even tho they claim they’re not nu metal lol
best guitar channel with Anyone can play guitar and gugoski, so much diversity of genres and great playing
Cheers, thank you! That’s a big compliment!
Best channel...thank you...
Cheers thank you
4:02 The riffs on Bound and Intoxication from the same album are so good.
@@banano9485 disturbed have some very underrated riffs tbh
@@eastvillageguitarmethoddd I agree

You talking 7 string? Mine has 10-62 right now
@@eastvillageguitarmethoddd Well, I'm looking towards purchasing a 7 string and know nothing about gauges for them :P

3:37 personally, I would change toxicity for Disasterpiece by Slipknot. The intro is so good.
@@Elwaza420 I was torn between those two albums tbh
@@eastvillageguitarmethoddd Ik, it’s a hard choice, but it’s my opinion. Good list tho

If we get more Nu Metal videos hopefully Incubus makes it to the list, they had some weird but fun riffs in their early days
Totally! It pained me to omit them here, but they’ll be in there next time
"When girls telephone boys" looks crazy.
@@XHellPriest easier than it seems tbh!
Ball tongue without the slappy bass and crisp percussion isn't the same
whenever i hear the start of papercut, it instantly reminds me of the GTA 4 main theme 😂
May have been an influence? Lol
@ it’s gotta be man 😂, gta devs definitely heard this when it dropped and took some influence in 2008

So basically 1994-1999 is nu metal and everything after is butt rock.
@@bigmonk802 I mean the genre did quickly start to fizzle lol
Sepultera nu metal?
@@geoffreylamberts by the time Roots came out they were. They were effectively already doing Soulfly on that album

Agree to disagree.

Deftones root was sooooo wrong

What I learned from this is that Linkin Park has always sucked.
lol! I love the riffs on their first 2 albums, but to each their own
I was expecting more niche by metal bands. I was a little disappointed.
@zeusm11 who’d I miss?? Tbh I never got as into the 2nd tier of nu metal bands. It’s kind of a shallow genre to me
