- From international rock star with The Guess Who and BTO to a Saturday night radio institution, Randy Bachman shares his amazing career and his living legacy!
Randy Bachman is a living Legend. A Master of Canadian Rock and Roll and Storyteller Extraordinaire. Brilliant!
I want him to live on forever! Been chasing him on YT for a while and realizing he's been like a fly on the wall in so many interesting places! And the pizza guy and everything else.
And since BTO I tracked him back and discovered Guess Who and a lot more. And he's still learning me a lot of things through this. I know I got a good ear and my musical friends are somewhat amazed of songs and recordings I've made, but listening to what he says and similarly to the records makes things fall together; and one can learn a great deal.
Bachman and Cummings have had such a body of work!
What a great story teller. Miss his show on CBC.
Undun,, what a brilliant song! No rhymes, just story and a tune constructed of great jazz chords. An amazing song!
I am crazy about Randy's stories...... I could listen to them everyday for the rest of my life....because interviews mean so much to me......
@randy bachman♪offcial Randy I saw you in a show at a downtown in Des Plaines IL back in 1995 an outdoor stage....Taste of Des Plaines....how long have I been a fan of yours...well let's say it goes back to maybe 1969
"Let it Ride" is the masterpiece that still gives me the chills and blows my mind. I love every note.
A masterpiece? Uhhh would we say it's a masterpiece?
Back in the day, and today, Randy Bachman might just the biggest rock n roll hero I have? Certainly in the top three. Been loving his music since the 60's
I'm Terry. Oh My Dear "friends" The Guess Who* Randy Bachman for now. I'm So delighted to know The Story 💕 of 'Undun' my favorite with "These Eyes" Thank You So Much. ❤
What a nice man. Don't know why I'm going back to the good ol' oldies but this is making me so nostalgic, proud, wonderfully grateful to have grown up in the 70s and homesick. Merci, cheers.
Great interview, thank you, Pam. I miss Randy's Saturday night show on CBC Radio 1.
I loved Undun! We translated it in 1969 into Latin in class. Crazy! My favorite Guess Who song. My favorite Group. Have seen You in concert 3 times. Belong in the Rock Hall of Fame!
Great interview. Such a talented man...and fine person. Wonderful to see him doing well after all these years...still takin' care of business...
Randy reminds me that when we were young, music was magical. Sure I wasnted to play in bands and I couldn't stop writing songs that sounded like they were ere from the late sixties early seventies. April wine was the only other and that cought my attention. Great stuff to go through. Thank you for these amazing stories👍
lovely story about Randy’s guitar and great interview
Pamela Wallin, gawd I miss professional journalism, you and Randy Bachmann are both top of the heap in my books.
In recent years as Randy and Burton are seen more on RUclips, I’m amazed at these guys. Randy is full of life and Burton isn’t doing too bad for himself either. They are proof that watching out for your health early in life has positive results.
Randy is like the John Madden or John Candy of rock. Just your everyday guy who has a lot of wisdom and knowledge about the field he works in
Thanks Pam this might be your best interview!
Taking Care of Business - " Your going to be playing this song every night..." I was in a bar band in the seventies and we played this song every set. The reaction was always great. Thanks Randy!
BTO/ GRAND FUNK TWO OF MY FAVORITE ROCK BAND'S
Great interview!
Top notch interview!
Canadian rock wouldnt be what it has become because of the foundation formed by randy bachman.....thank you randy...
I was there as a 17 year old boy when The Guess Who played at the point of the mountain in Utah. After a song Randy Bockman started calling everyone in the audience a bunch of drunks. Burton Cummings started getting after him and they started arguing on stage. Later while on a Mormon mission my companion who was from Canada told me he was at a Mormon fireside where Bockman told the story of his Pat. Blessing promised him if he kept his body clean and pure he would be able to make it in the music industry. 25 years after that I seen "The Guess Who" playing in a small lounge in Nevada. There was hardly anybody there. I was ten feet away from Burton Cummings. He said, if your wondering why Bockman isn't playing with us anymore. It's because he doesn't keep his body clean and pure, at least that's what he's going around saying about us. 😅😅😂😂 p.s. Sounded like to me Bockman used to be a self Righteous Judgemental Mormon...
At first I thought it was Tal with his silver hair covered. They are basically twins. The interviewer said Louie LouEYE. That was "Brother Louie" by the Stories, not the Kingsmen's "Louie Louie".
here's to Frank Zappa, Paul Revere, Ted Nugent and Gene Simmons, the BUSINESS animals
"Dolly Parton", "Willy Nelson"! What the hell is the Rock Hall of Shame thinking! Are they biased, or just racist, or they just d'ont like Canadians! It is time to induct Randy Bachman for The Guess Who, and for BTO, and then Burton Cummings for The Guess Who! These guys aren't getting younger! Please honor these guys while they are still alive! If you waite till their gone to do this, that is so disrespecful, these gus are living legend's, it's time!
TCB.!!
Snopes says the pizza guy story is False so I emailed this link to them.
Just saw an interview saying Randy has a selective memory and he's all but lying about his stories some two young kids two young punks getting tired of hearing them badmouth Randy
Randy has never, I repeat. He has never let the truth stand in the way of a good story.
Wasn't American Woman The Guess who's retaliation song because so many American Bys were running up NOrth of the border to escape the draft?
Writes Horror Novels as day Job
I liked his solo on Hand Me Down World, but fear that he might be a MAGA hero so will continue to avoid his music.
No,they were not "very funny "
On CBC,on Ed Sullivan they were not funny.
