I really like the retro look of these. I didn't collect the originals as a kid so these are super cool to me. Plus storage shells are an awesome touch.
I really liked that these molds stores things on their shells and YET they don't have an ugly or dformed shape to them, you can easily put them as an red sky episodes figures when you play with them!
Christmas 1991, just a young kid, but I was able to get all 4 of these guys on Christmas morning, from my parents. It was awesome! 1st time I ever got all 4 turtles. Only had Mikeys from the original line. Still have some of the originals, but others have gone missing. These were some of my favorite from the Playmates line. Had a couple of the black belt ones too that I got later on, which I just sold recently. I always had trouble getting everything, except for their main weapons, in their shell and close. Still not a fan of the bright green they are using for Raph on these re-releases
Oh man! These hit hard for me! Love that they're re-releasing them. Had a ton growing up, but lost them all over the years! I'll be picking them up for sure! Thanks for the review The Review Spot....and great work by #Playmates ! Looking forward to Space Raph!
I have the Playmates Toys black and white Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the TMNT Comic Book Collection. I may even consider picking these up as well. Playmates Toys does a pretty good job when it comes to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures and these are no exception. They are well sculpted and painted and they come included with some nice accessories. Speaking of which, I love the fact that you can store the accessories inside their shells, aside from the weapons of course. Solid work on the part of Playmates Toys! Thanks once again Spot! I really appreciate the hard work! Keep it up! God bless and stay safe!
Back in 2005 or so, I worked at a Pizza Hut. We had an item called Cheesy Bites. All around the edge, there were pull off sections of mozzarella filled crust. That’s what these remind me of. And oh boy, those were a total pain to assemble.
I always thought these where great because you had space for the extra stuff and so you don't lose them. Even after all these years companies still decide to have packaging that you can't reuse, don't know why as I am sure they know collectors would like to put them back in the packaging.
I really like the video. Just need to say that those shell storage versions were also available in 90s, and they also had colored belts and all the same accessors, and also the same teeth and gum exposure… all from playmate toys… I guess you weren’t aware of many different models that they created throughout the entire period of original releases…
Nice review man everytime i see these it brings me back to when i was a kid in the 80s and 90s...good times. Crazy how they're bringing back a lot or past toys. Boglins are another 80s toy. Remember those?
I keep debating whether or not to grab these ones... I kean you are right the new head sculpts are pretty cool and they do look pretty good... I should grab them to go with my Quebec packaged retro Playmates TMNT figs...

This totally sounds like if Dwight Schrute had recorded himself reviewing the TMNT Storage Shell Turtles.
Exactly

I used to have the old ones from back in the day. I only had Donnie and Leo. I am kinda tempted to get these.

I've aways liked these better than the originals, more weapons better sculpts (in my opinion), and extra play value
I would def get these just to leave in the packages. I Never leave anything in the package but these are nostalgic

Nice vid! When do you think the new line up hits shelves nationwide?
Low-key always felt the turtles having such detailed teeth was creepy. 😬
It looks like a string ray axe
I Sean Donatello at Walmart yesterday
Horrible looking turtle figures they look as though they are the enemy working for shredder and his illuminati clan
