The grimaced head is supposed to be Raphael, the smiling one is Michelangelo. They mixed them up, but if you check the insides of the heads, they are initial with who is who. :)
@@TheReviewSpot Speaking of Grimace have you tried the new Grimace Birthday meal at McDonalds? It's 14 dollars LOL maybe 18 judging on your local micky D's location!? The catch is you can only get the new Grimace milk shake with the meal! You cannot get it by itself. Many argue that this is just a cash grab! The shake alone is about 8 dollars! As I said it isn't sold separately. 🥤🍔🍟🟣
Having missed out on the original Mirage Turtles NECA did, are also a dream of mine to get another at (for an affordable price). I grew up on the Archie series too! :) I got into the Mirage series mostly via reprints second thanks to the first live action movie and the artwork from the first NES game.
GREAT Video. When I Saw This TMNT Box Set. I Turn Into A SERIOUS Child. Neca Toys Did A EXCELLENT Job On This Action Figures. I Can't Wait Until I Get My Own TMNT Box Set. NECA Toys Did A GREAT Job On These Action Figures. To All Action Figure Collectors. This TMNT Box Set Is FIRE 🔥 & It's A SERIOUS Must Have In Mind's & Yours Action Figure Collection.
I bought my first Ninja Turtles comic in the summer of 1988 when I was 10. It was Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #6 “Leatherhead”, penciled by Jim Lawson. I had never heard of them but there was something about the comic that grabbed my attention. This new set of figures are the turtles that I was first introduced to.
Amazing simply nostalgic. It’s a recreation of my childhood. I think I still own a original teenage mutant ninja turtles figure somewhere in my old toy chest.
We had a comic store in Athens Ga, 11 years ago that had the first Turtles. I didn’t get them because I thought $24.99 was too much for one figure. Hahahahahahaahhaahahahahahahaahhaa.
These are Eastman art Turtles imo. Not sure where the Lawson rumor started other than him being involved with Return to New York. Eastman did this style first. If you look at Lawson's actual unique Turtle art, when he is not copying Eastman, it's different than these. Plus, box art and official description specifically mentions Eastman, not Lawson.
It can’t be stopped. They aren’t Lawson turtles. Lawson was working over very tight Eastman layouts at this point (during Return to New York) and Eastman and Laird created this look before Lawson was working with them. This style can be seen on the First Publishing collections. The smiling head looks like Eastman’s painted Leonardo from volume 1 of the 80s collections. Laird or Eastman were taking turns doing the inks and tight layouts during RTNY and Lawson was not determining the look of the turtles. It’s funny because if NECA does do the more goofy looking Lawson turtles (very distinct) it will be hard to call them Jim Lawson turtles after calling these Jim Lawson turtles. Either way, I love these reviews.
These....are....straight....FIRE!!! #NECAToys just killed it with these! Absolutely going to grab this set... it's a must!!! And great compare against the original Mirage....looks so much smaller than these! Hoping #NECA rereleases that set as well! As always, great review The Review Spot!
Again, I wish reviewers would stop with this misinformation: these are NOT Jim Lawson designs. They are Eastman & Laird’s designs from Return to New York.
in my opinion i think the turtle with the more damaged front half shell should be ralf but on the cover art on the back of the box its mikey but ig im ok with it since they gave him his hood like the last ronin
All four of the TMNT figures look really good. The sculpt, paint application and accessories are top notch. The bulky nature of the figures definitely adds to their appeal. They are nicely articulated as well. Though, unfortunately, they are pretty expensive online. I had no idea that these were coming out. Otherwise, thanks, Spot! I appreciate the hard work! Keep it up! God bless and stay safe!

No problem, I don’t mind being criticized. It was and still is warranted, I really didn’t explain my objection to the mutant mayhem figs. I just thought the contrast between the two sets appearance was shocking. I get that one set is aimed at kids and the other for older collectors and their price points . I just don’t like the art style of the of the mutant mayhem ( Donatello wearing a Fanny pack and Michael Angelo’s wide set eyes .. etc
Everyone is saying that these are the Lawsen turtles, but Lawsen’s style is a lot blockier than these figures seem to be. These figures more resemble Eastman’s chunkier Turtles, which I prefer. The figures are a spot on resemblance to the turtles in this cover, which is straight from my childhood: m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81tpia8VjiL.jpg
The most, original, wild, badass, brutall, combatant, deadliest, bloodest, darkest, straight, BEST TMNT edition, than ALL!!! That's the REAL, AUTHENTIC TMNT. Nothing to do with today's gay, ridicullously, vomiting editions.

These look fantastic! They really do demonstrate the reason why they had to give different headband colors to the original cartoon/toyline.
They have bicep swivel brother just dunk him in warm water. It’s frozen…

How come no one has made a set with a ball peg in the torso for more range and possibly neck articulation?
On the inside of the heads have the initial L,R,M,D. They were switched.. I believe two are correct and the other to are not.😎
correct
I hope they get reissued in single.
When does these guys come out
I have to go to target To go shopping for toys where can you find that?
