Some dementia patients can be so cruel to everyone in their site, through no fault of their own. Grandpa has a heart of gold and wants everyone to be safe and healthy.....AMAZING ❤❤❤❤
So true, the only friend I knew going through this with her husband. He not only has forgotten them all, he was a boxer in NY and thinks they are holding him against his will. Combative and aggressive, neither his wife nor daughter are any match for him. So sad.
I do home care. I’m a retired nurse. You are correct! I was beat up by the patient and had to call the son to come home. So, so sad. Ed is on the sweet side of dementia, but theirs a violent side of dementia too. They’re scary and incredibly strong! I had bruises on my arms for a month….
Dan, thanks for setting such a high standard for the treatment and care of our elderly family members! Your patience and kindness continues to be on a stellar level!❤
I agree Dan, he must have had a dream about Josh. After Grandpa woke up he might have been thinking Josh was little. Dan, Our Heavenly Father holds you in The Palm of His Mighty Hand and saying “Good Job taking care of your Dad!”
Your interaction with your father warms my heart. So much patience and love. We went through this with my pop-pop. It’s so great that your family has the ability to keep him home with you and not in a facility.
What a compassionate. Man . Bless his heart . Your patience is beyond words that express. Good job !!! Your patience will come back to you and your family .
Dan, I love your Pop and your entire family. Thank you for sharing him with us. I have cared for an elderly dementia women and I know that we mostly see the good, but I know that there are very difficult times too. You are all in my prayers.
Bless your souls...Dad wants the make sure his sons are all ok... Priorities....what a blessing....his sons keep hom going...so much love for his family...and you can tell the love is very much returned ...what a family...Ty Dan and Brothers for taking care of this amazingly wonderful Man❤❤❤❤
If we all took the time , effort, and love, that Dan takes at home with his father, there would be so much less injured in rest homes and convalescent homes. Elderly would not feel neglected by their family. And, psychological distress would be at a minimal. Thanks Dan for caring for your parents, as they cared for you. Admirable!
I admire how Grandpa Ed cares and worries so much for his children and family. Also he worries if his kid's are doing well financially too. Such a wonderful father! God bless him.🙏❤

Isn’t that something a parent will never stop worrying about their children. I remember I was in the hospital one time the woman next to me had the same disease as your dad every day at 12 o’clock she would get up and try to leave to go home and feed her boys their lunch when they came home from school of course they were grown adults, and I sat there and thought as a young mother at the time I couldn’t imagine how awful that had to be for her to think she wouldn’t be home to feed her children. It’s really a tough disease I give you so much credit and dad is a kind, loving person. It is so obvious wishing you all well.
I never realized how much you and your dad look alike. Way to go man. Were doing the same with my grandpa and it can be trying at times. But they need family. Much respect ✊
Oh! Boy, Dan very tough Time with Grandpa, I don’t know what he would do without you Dan. You are a great Man, I admire you SO much❤ From Irene in Australia who is 80yrs young😂😂👍👍❤️❤️
Job well done looking after daddy instead of an old people's home. I like your patience with your father. May the Lord bless you ad your family. Keep going.
Thank you so much for sharing. I’m caring for my mom. And you two give me hope and love. And your way of redirecting him with so much love. Shows how much of a remarkable man he is. Love stren that forever happiness ❤❤
It took us a long time to realize that whatever my dad was watching when he dozed off was what was in his mind when he woke! We had to ban all cable news channels in the end. Such a horrible disease and you are doing a great job of loving him as you can tell he loves his family❤
Yes, this was definitely following a doze off. And we have had to eliminate cable news, especially during the war footage and even when that titanic mini sub went down that really affected him
I am so moved by your continued patience with your father. It is so sweet to watch because I know it’s not easy. I hope you take some time away for yourself. God bless!
I got an idea that if we make video while talking to our old fathers may be we would also get this saintly patience. Dan you are great how you talk to your father without getting irritated and angry for answering same questions from your dad who obviously has no idea about his memory. God bless your family. You have changed my outlook for Americans completely.
He reminds me so much of my Grandpa that just recently passed. He also had Dementia, and he has 7 kids, a lot of Grand kids and even more Great Grand kids now. He was 92. He was so kind and loving and concerned about everyone. He would get confused but he was so concerned for everyone else all of the time. I miss him, he was am amazing human being. Truly. He was an Engineer, a physics professor at Clarkson University, he was the Mayor of Colton NY, he broke code by learning Mandarin (Chinese) for the CIA during the Korean war and was recognized as being exceptional amonsts the 6 of the code breakers they had. He was a pilot who had a small airplane and let me try to stear it when I was 12 years old. He was an amazing human. His intelligence shined through even through his Dementia and so did his heart.
He sure loves his kids. I wish my mom was like this, when she went through this horrible disease. She was so mean. The struggles are real . God bless her
It's amazing how this disease affects people differently. My dad forgot who his kids were, and he forgot all of his siblings. My dad is gone now. I love your page. Your pop reminds me of my dad.
You are a great son also !!! This vídeos are great for those who are on this journey with their love ones , but also for your own family, when it’s your turn or your wife , if this is the case . My grandfather lived to be 104 towards the end weak body but lucid memory , unlike my dad who passed away recently, he was strong as an ox , and when dementia stop by it was a challenge . I took care of him the last three years of his life , and my daughter saw the changes and also enjoyed his wisdom with humor . I do know that when it’s my turn if it happens she will too has had acquired knowledge in patience , and strength to see the progressive changes . 😊( dad was less than two months of his 93 birthday 🌳
This part of dementia breaks my heart. It’s the obsessive nonstop questions about an individual a child like your father used to do with his brother and that’s what he’s displaying here. I just can’t imagine all that energy that he has, and I’m sure doesn’t realize he pours out on these obsessive questions. But when the reasoning is gone and memory retention … that’s what happens .. 😢
And ironically, I will be posting a coffee chat tomorrow where he is as good as he was six months ago a complete flip this disease is hard to understand

He has such a loving attitude for his kids
What a wonderful feeling that must be. Bless his soul.

Dan is gaslighting you into thinking that by lying. That's babydan's fake facade. His dad, Ed, was not always caring.he was a self-serving controller.
