The message about your job not having to be your passion is so important. I spent years chasing this life I “didn’t need an escape from”, but there is nothing wrong with your job just being a job that pays the bills. I finally started to appreciate the merits of a job with a start and end time, weekends off, health insurance, and a steady paycheck. I can chase my hobbies on nights and weekends. ❤

In fact it is better to NOT have all your passions and energy tied to your career. cuz if something were to go wrong with that, now you have nothing. it's always better to cultivate hobbies and interests outside of work

Yes!! I had this realization too about two years ago and it was tough to come to terms with but I’m so much happier now that I’ve accepted that i don’t have a dream job and that’s okay. It’s okay to just have a job that you don’t despise and get a paycheck so it can fund what I do enjoy.

Totally agree. Especially if you're a musician or do something creative. My finace plays guitar and records/masters music as a hobby. He has looked into doing it as a career, it's even what his degree is in but he found that doing his hobby as a career made it no longer enjoyable for him. So he does HTML front-end development as a career and does music as a hobby.

Absolutely. As an empty nester, it destroys me to think back to missed moments and time with my family for businesses that don’t even exist anymore. That time was a precious commodity that I gave to the wrong people. Before climbing a corporate ladder, make sure it’s leaning on the right building. This generation should be commended for creating opportunities and awesome side hustles to have time & money simultaneously (not including MLMs lol)

I don’t understand the whole “retire my husband” thing. So, you want to stay home, take care of the kids, own a business, and make it so your husband doesn’t work anymore leaving you with the sole pressure of providing for your family. This is just setting women up for burn-out. Statistically, women already take on a disproportionate amount of mental labor, household chores and child care. This just fuels our modern narrative that women need to hustle constantly while very little is expected of men.

“You’re leaving 30 paychecks on the table.” Sure, but let’s not forget that to receive those $20 checks, you had to pay a $99 start up fee, 3 flex ship orders of $150 or more, reach monthly quotas, pay for a back office, and there’s a cancellation fee if you want to leave, and pressure to buy overpriced products. So those paychecks won’t even cover your losses not to mention the damage to your hair, family, friends, and ego

Thank you for the message about separating one's passion and purpose from work. I'm 40 years old and have spent a long time trying to turn things I'm passionate about into jobs/careers, and it's just too stressful for me. It's very hard for me to put healthy boundaries on my work time when I feel personally invested with my work - I would often not be actively working in my off time, but my mind would be consumed by it anyway. I took an easy retail job last year for a mental break, and I'm currently looking for a job that will pay enough but also allow me to turn it off when I clock out. I've found other outlets for pursuing my true passions as hobbies, and I'm so much happier and more peaceful for it.

What I love about not being in an MLM:
    1. My salary is promptly in my account at the same time every month. No need to speculate on how much it will be.
    2. My evenings and weekends are for relaxation and family time.
    3. I can enjoy my holidays and not worry about losing income when I am off sick.
    4. My kids do not walk in on me everytime I try to 'work'.

I was then told “oh your hair is just detoxing- try shampooing twice and then conditioning!”
    NOPE same result. Trash.

Focusing on the number of paychecks per month definitely suggests to me that they're targeting people who are living paycheck to paycheck/struggling with cashflow too. Not only is it misleading given how small those paychecks typically are, but it's also super predatory when their target audience is hoping to get paid more often so they can pay bills on time, avoid overdraft, etc. 😣

It just occurred to me that the reason these companies pay so often/so many times per month is so that if you make ANY money, you are spending less time with $0 in your bank account. If you were only getting paid monthly or biweekly, it would be obvious that you were running out of money between pays, whereas if you are getting paid every week, even if it’s only a little, it seems like you are not going without at any point in the month.

It’s sad because this is what their up lines ( who most don’t talk to one on one, just listen to in a zoom call) tell them to do as apart of a challenge to win something. I won a Louis Vuitton bag. I was also poaching from Christa Paarni by Toni Vanschoyck who I won the bag from. I deleted all of my stupid Monat posts after Toni posted about being mentioned on this channel 😅
And I listened to the content.
I also called out compliance rules being broken to Toni about herself and others on her team, and she tried to gaslight me. I sent a PowerPoint of everything she did to Monat Compliance and they did nothing.
I sold the purse and got my money back that way, but not my time. If you look up how Amazon will rate a best selling book, you will see the categories she put her 3rd book in (which is just other people’s stories ) that gave her that title from amazon selling a few hundred books.
    It’s all a scam.

We shouldn't have to buy something from someone, just because they're a friend. If we don't need the product/services or if someone else has a better product/service that better fits our needs, we shouldn't be guilted or shamed to purchase from a friend just because they're a friend.

How many times you get paid a month only matters if you aren’t making good money. It’s the same amount of money a month, if you slice it up more, it’s just a smaller amount more times. Which is only helpful if you are living paycheck to paycheck and/or you aren’t good at managing your money.

    • @TyDee_babes
      @TyDee_babes Год назад

That also depends on how paying your bills are arranged.
I get paid once a month, which is standard where I live. Because of this most bills set to autopay are processed just after people get their salaries.
So right now I pay my most significant bills within days of getting paid, with whatever is left over able to be used for things like groceries, savings and fun stuff.
If I were to get paid twice a month, managing my money would be more of an effort as I'd have to be careful to set apart some of the bi-weekly wage to make sure I'd have enough in my account for my monthly bills. Mostly my mortgage, but also other recurring expenses like utilities, insurance and student loan payments.

Monat and Mary Kay huns wax lyrical about their "free" Cadillac, while Arbonne huns go wild for a Mercedes Benz. Pruvit allows allows you a variety of brands provided it meets certain requirements (including 3y or newer and a current market value of $50.000usd).
I guess as long as it's pricey enough to make losing the qualifying rank and therefore the car bonus it'll do.

Does Monat require you to have at least one person under you to make any commission? I remember being in doterra and that was a requirement.

You can make commission off of sales. But in order to get your commission every month you do have to meet your PV and GV requirements at each rank.

I am not trying to be mean whatsoever to these 2 women...but both of their heads of hair look extremely thin to me..
Doesn't monat supposed to combat that?
My hair is super thin also...if you want to try something that may help encourage growth, not necessarily thicken...but growth...I LOVE the mielle rosemary oil, argon oil on the mids and ends.. wash the scalp with a good fingertip massage..native hair mask for 3-5 minutes...rinse...total game changer...that only cost me roughly $15..
The faith manipulation has always made my skin crawl...that's one of the main reasons I completely left my church a year ago, so many mlms and the pressure to get in on the "opportunity "

I think they pay so frequently because they want to have that constant reinforcement for their Huns that keeps them trying. Like it's not much per check (like you said, $12, which will likely go right back to the company when they make their monthly purchases to stay active), but it's similar to how slot machines give you just a little bit back every few pulls just to keep you in the seat because "eventually" it "might" pay off and you "might" hit the jackpot.

Chelsea, I've been watching your channel since I was in college in a major and a career path that I really didn't want to be in, and I just want to say that I finally got a real, CorPoRaTe 9-5 job!! and yeah, it's not my Dream Job or whatever, but it a cozy job (with my own little cubicle and benefits) that I was able to get because of my degree, my previous jobs and positions, being myself, and knowing that I can do this and other new things. I am still living with my mom, but that is just making paying off my student loans all the more attainable. Thanks for all the pep talks and advice to people in their early twenties over the years! 24 and doing something interesting that pays well is much more than I was imagining at 21, and thanks for being part of that!

I think you may be one of my fav new youtubers. Great video. I'm a social media manager who is tired of all the fake bs I see. I know that sounds contradictory lol 😂 I talk so much smack about social media platforms and why creators need to have balance and put their health and families first. Probably why I have such a miniscule following since I don't like to perpetuate the "go go go" "let's post everyday" culture. Anyways, all that to say... I like seeing creators like yourself, call out the bs. 👏

its crazy how MLMs work and how most haven't been sued for what they are putting out there or even how their own workers are putting up fraud for these MLMs (by fraud I mean like lying to the people to get them a part of their team) and how they are working just in lies and deceit

    Who is this message for?
It looks like it's on instagram, so assuming it's for people not in the MLM. But they're going so specific about details like the structure, etc.
