Hey thanks bro. I just ordered this for my wife and I after our 15 year old Precor treadmill finally died. I found your review very detailed and helpful. Nice job!!
Nice reviews. One of the better ones I’ve seen. I think you just sold me on the F80. I don’t want a unit with smart or interactive screen. I got my own iPad and TV. 😀 One less electronic part to worry about.
I'm also got my f80 because of the simplicity and roughednnes it offers. There's really no need for anything fancier in terms of electrics. My favorite feature is the incline deck witch works flawlessly
Very thoughtful of you to have made this video. I just bought one and it was delivered yesterday. I still haven’t looked into all its features but I’m really excited about it.
Hey Stevie. A few thoughts i wanted to ask you about. On the programmed workouts that come preloaded i wanted to know more about the HiiT one....Are there different levels of HIIT you can customized once you click on the HiiT button? Can i edit the speed/duration etc or is it a fixed program and you cannot edit? I really enjoy HiiT and am hoping i could customize this program as i progress. I also wanted your opinion on if the SOL F80 is a good treadmill for HiiT considering there aren't quick buttons for every speed/incline. I really wished SOLE had that. My only negative i see with their product. This is why i am hoping the preprogrammed HiiT allows me to edit and include speed numbers not found on the quick select speed buttons.
Thanks for the great review. Was on the fence but your video convinced me on this one. I tried to use your link but it wouldn't let me purchase through that redirect for some reason. Had to go direct through their website... sorry about that. Really appreciate the honest review!
Thanks for watching and commenting. I am not sure about that type of compatibility since I have yet to test it. Your best bet would be to contact SOLE support and they can confirm.
Very nice review! Thoroughly enjoyed this. I was looking into getting the Spirit XT385 and then someone made me aware that the F80 was similar (both made by Dynaco) Have you looked in the XT385? Thanks.
Awesome review! Expecting my F80 in this week! Question: It seems you have an iPad Pro 12.9” protective case w/ Apple Pencil. I’ve failed to find anywhere if my same iPad setup will fit with the F80’s top tablet holder. Thanks in advance.
@@majorgear1021 so I just got my F80 in yesterday. I can confirm that the 12.9” iPad Pro will fit in the tablet holder of the F80. However, with my protective case I’ve purchased with the Apple Pencil accessory, it will NOT fit.
I also have the 12.9 iPad Pro (5th gen) with the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio. Haven’t received my F80 yet but went to the local Dick’s Sporting Goods to test before I purchased. While it is easy to remove the Smart Keyboard folio I didn’t want to worry about putting it down somewhere. The iPad still attached to the keyboard folio (just folded open) fit with no problems.
I just clicked on the phone icon at their website and they were responsive. So far so good. If you do decide to purchase anything from the site, please use my link: bit.ly/3iBpIuL
Hi there, great videos. I'm a heavier person at 325 lbs, but I still consider myself semi-athletic and can still jog for extended periods and do sprint intervals. I've ran on many commercial gym treadmills in my time and have sometimes ran into a big problem - that occasionally, the belt would feel like it skips/sticks/stutters for just a brief instant. I'm unsure what's caused this; it could be that I step or stride in just a way with too much pressure or weight. It didn't ALWAYS happen on EVERY treadmill, but sometimes. I decided to purchase the F80 for my covid-started home-gym, and unfortunately I'm noticing it doing this same thing. It happens randomly, not too often, but maybe once every ~2-5 minutes, sometimes more, sometimes less. The skip is extremely jarring and frustrating to deal with. Ever hear of a problem like this before or have any insights about what could cause it or how to address it? Thanks so much.
Hey David, That definitely sounds like an issue for tech support at SOLE. I would suggest you call them, but I will give you my guess here. I’ve pretty heavy footed when walking and running, so the belt tends to loosen faster for me. With the F80, I would make sure to tighten the belt evenly every week or two if I felt that slip. Hope this helps.
i feel like that's a treadmill issue. the gym i go to some of them do that. i just find the ones where it doesn't slip and stick to those ones. im 330 pounds and some of them at the gym never slip.
I could not post the full one since I needed to bring the treadmill in pieces separately. It’s actually a very easy assembly with just the console and arm portions connecting to the belt/motor/base. If you do decide to purchase the F80 or anything else from SOLE, please use my link: bit.ly/3iBpIuL
Thanks for watching the video and commenting. I’m using the 12.9” iPad Pro and it fits very nicely. If you decide to purchase a treadmill from SOLE fitness, please use my link: bit.ly/3iBpIuL
I’ve never officially timed other treadmills that I’ve used, but I’m pretty sure they don’t ramp out speed any faster. There has to be some regulation to prevent injury. If you do decide to purchase the F80 or anything else, please use my link: bit.ly/3iBpIuL
I wonder... if you move the front of it closer to the wall and you have more space behind it, would you be less likely to lift with your back? It looks like you might have a few inches to spare. Great review! Thank you so much!
The weak spot of these is definitely the deck. I do 3-4 miles a day, about 300 days a year, and decks last me about 5 years before they need replacement. Probably a good idea to change the walking belt at the same time, if you put a lot of miles on it. Get your ducks in a row for warranty replacement with Sole - they don’t like to replace stuff for free - buy your unit directly from Sole; register your purchase; and keep copies of your paperwork or they’ll tell you you’re SOL on a new warranty deck!
Kindly tell about the cushioning, do you think its soft on joints n the cushioning can be felt considerably or u think it does not exist much n its just selling stunt.
I definitely feel a difference between this model and others that don’t have this type of cushioning. With my injuries, I’d feel it if I went for a cheaper model.
I think it all depends on how much of the warranty is left and if it’s transferable. There have been no issues with my F80, but having the valid warranty gives piece of mind.
Just purchased and the incline makes a creaking noise going up and down from 0-7 with and without someone on it. Is this normal? Any tips on fixing it?
Maybe the incline mechanism needs some silicone spray or WD40. Just t on be safe, I’d contact the company since you do have a warranty with your new purchase. Use that as much as you can.
I’ve seen many runners owning the F80 for years and it lasting wither regular maintenance. Stay tuned for my ST90 review. That may be a better choice. Beefier treadmill. If you do decide to purchase, please use my link: bit.ly/3iBpIuL
Thanks for the video, does your f80 make a thumping sound every tine the belt goes around the roller? I am not sure if that is normal. I can only hear it on high speeds.
No issues with the F80 at all. I’ll have to investigate more about that BBB rating and see why they are rated so low. I’ll probably follow up with a video testing their customer service. Thanks for letting me know.
