    Cairo is the capital city of Egypt. The city's metropolitan area is the largest in the Middle East and the Arab world, and the 15th-largest in the world, and is associated with ancient Egypt, as the famous Giza pyramid complex and the ancient city of Memphis are located in its geographical area. Located near the Nile Delta, modern Cairo was founded in 969 CE

      It's called the Egyptian brake pedal. If something is in your way, you don't hit the brakes, you toot the horn.

    • @fred8835
      @fred8835 8 лет назад +6

      horns are also used in minor crossroads to indicate that they are coming so that the other cars wait for them to pass rather than stopping and looking and this helps in controling the population

    They could expand the sidewalks and issue fines to businesses blocking them. Also honking could be discouraged to reduce noise pollution. If unnecessary honking persists then make it mandatory to remove it from vehicles. Sometimes I feel logic is in short supply in many developing countries.

      @coffeetime3293 2 года назад

      They could, but why they should? They think it is normal. It is not a socialistic country. Everybody minds their own benefit, from shop owners to the authorities. Why investing in sidewalks and pavements if this does not pay out.

    I used to also get annoyed about the fact that the pavements will all of a sudden, stop or there'll be a pile of sand in the way, or a stall of some kind etc but have a good look down a side street and you will often find amazing buildings and peace & quiet (yes, I know it's hard to believe!). Garden city near Tahir is a great example. Some of the best 'Ahwa's' (coffee/tea places) that I've found in Cairo have been tucked away down a side alley. Or sit under a tree in the shade. Even if it's in between the tram lines (like in Heliopolis). You need to have a certain mentality to survive Cairo, especially in the summer when it's 50c and with all the fumes and people, but once you get to know the area and where to go for some peace and to cool down, there is, in my mind, nowhere as fanstastic as Cairo.

    WOW! I thought in Cairo the whole city had many pretty good things, because in ancient days, there used to be many of the pharaohs and it used to be a well precented city. Nowadays it just look just as any other city from any other continent, actually, it reminded me a city from Mexico. looking at the highways and the buildings around ,but then looking at the people and the way they speak it reminded me that it is a city from another continent!

    Hmm, interesting. I enjoyed the walkthrough. It looks like a pretty rough area, I must say. But I grew up in pretty tough neighborhood and, oddly, this walkthrough brings back memories of my youth. Walking the streets, identifying the street toughs, keeping to yourself and watching your back. But, as a kid, it was kind of exciting. As a youth, you're always looking for adventure and confrontation.

    I lived there for a whole summer, in Abi Taleb street. Awesome place, and beautiful, in its own way.
    Yes, the horn playing is real (to communicate between drivers, instead of using the car lights. It's mostly done like this in third world countries). Also, it's most common to walk in the side of the road, instead of on the sidewalk. And crossing streets is the most frightening thing at first (the cars) but then it becomes very fun after a couple of weeks.
    Peace

      Jason Eric Thanks??? What is the matter to be dark-skinned?

    • @Omar-kw5ui
      @Omar-kw5ui 8 лет назад +10

      nomedeusuariobr he's an afro centric. Their purpose in their life is to try and somehow prove that the ancient Egyptians were black Africans so they can claim that they have some history, and that we modern Egyptians are not related and are just occupants of this land. However, what he's saying is not true at all. Egyptians depicted themselves in paintings and engravings as having lighter skin than all Africans except for the inhabitants of lybians and and the rest of north Africa. They infact delict Greek and egyptian skin alike. If we look at the examples of queen Nefertiti, Cleopatra, or even Tutankhamen, they were all bronze skin like modern Egyptians. Paintings are however not reliable sources of evidence. Genetic analysis has proven their arguments wrong. Yet I say, believe what make you happy. I could care less.
