Most of the “cut-ups” I clean require more than a simple mopping. I devised a trick where I squirt the top of each pane with a little water from my soap bottle, then scrub each with my white pad. Super quick and covers all the bases👍🏼(since I started doing it, I don’t even use small mops anymore. That way you can carry your big mop for the large panes you’re cleaning at the same time.)
I’ve never used a squeegee but I will now. My French door panes drive me crazy. Thanks
what you use?
Great Steve! Exactly my problem at the moment. The perfect result when the sun hits the glass, is what I try to achieve with these small panes. This will help me alot THANKS 🙏
Thank you! I just started cleaning windows on the side. I just did a bunch of french windows and have another coming up. I will practice the fanning method home first. the job that I just finished I did side pulls, about three with my 8" squeegee, and I had a bit of a problem with streaks just as you said
Good video. You said a lot of things I say to people.i am training and to my self. Colorado represent!
Nice vid,I find French windows very therapeutic 😎
Some fine way for dredded cut ups. A technique for using Wagtail and Moerman (Pivot On Command) for cut ups, a hybrid fan straight pull. Cut up the side , slide over, and flip to the top and pull down. This will leave some water at the end pull. It is a good way for taller high panes also.
Great vid. Big fan here 😁 I always get streaks in the middle when I do straight pull downs
You’re the best, Steve.
Incredibly helpful...thanks!
Great advice as always, I'm glad you mentioned the z-method because that millisecond stop in the corner will leave those ghost marks that show their ugly face when the sun shines through😎👍
Facts! Love the video. @8:00 is where I mess up a lot! Learned something like always thanks brotha!
Owen Gollaba anytime my friend!! Hope your doing great!
Awesome video. Very helpful.
Hi Steve nice vid, what I personally do for French door windows..
I carry a spare squeegie channel and cut it down to fit the frame either horizontal or vertical. I find I have less chance of leaving squeegie marks on the glass with one downward or a across pass. Then just detail tops, sides and bottom of the frame.
Keep up good work Steve 👌
Ian harper yes that’s the best way for sure!!
Cut ups, mulliens, French windows, were something I absolutely despised when I began cleaning windows. When I worked for another company, I actually walked off a job that had over 1000 of them. Then I worked out a technique that makes them go quickly and they come out beautifully. I like to do them in direct sunlight, so nothing is overlooked. I've learned to have more patience and enjoy doing them now. 👍
Scott W. They definitely require patience! I don’t mind them but definitely wait till last to see if someone else will get to them before me 😂
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner You're a boss. Delegate 👍😁👍
What's your technique please buddy? They take me so long 😢

I use a natural sponge wrung out just enough to keep it from dripping while scrubbing the panes. I recommend starting with 2 or 3 at a time until you get into the rhythm. With a towel in one hand, I make a vertical dry line with the tip of my squeegee and then plant the dry squeegee into the dry line to squeegee the water horizontally. I either use one squeegee that is the same size as the pane or one that's a little more than half the height of the pane and do two swipes, drying the squeegee rubber after each run. I almost always detail the edges. Sometimes there's no water lines... that just depends on the frame trim. It is tedious, but it works great for me and quicker than any other technique I've seen. I hope that helps
You’re awesome Steve 0 ,I always learn something new watching ur videos 🤘🏼😎
Noe Martinez thank you 😁
Showing various techniques is good. Fanning is the better way, less solution is best. I made a 6 inch Wagtail PC with cut Moerman channel pad over squeegee for cutups and skinny panes ( named Half Pint). It's works well with poling skinny panes also.
Would it be easier to give them a quick wipe with a damp silver-infused Norwex cloth, and dry/polish with the Norwex glass cloth?
I've used them for a quick smudge removal on glass doors of a local restaurant- works great
I use a 3m pad instead of a mop, I buy the big white pads and on a job just cut a fresh one the size of the glass bit a bit smaller. I find it a little neater for application
Morning Steve, Robert here from the deep south of NZ.Steve l am cleaning ingrained dirt in windows at a gardening center. When l have finished u can see rivlets, can u help pl?
Thanks good sir that helps me out a lot
Love the videp
What kind of soap are you using?
Hi Steve! I'm from Brazil and here I am not finding this articulated squeegee that you use, I found something similar on some sites, but are not the same. Could you point me to a website that can export this articulated squeegee to my country?
Awesome
Hi Steve just wondered what do you do when the soap dryers around the edge I live in the uk but with the weather heating up its getting harder to detail without leaving a slite grey looking smear around the edge less soap helps but I cant stop the problem all together unless I use a damp microfiber witch kind off acts like a shammy leather any tip on how you get around this?
Jamie Foster I think it’s best to mop a pane squeegee, mop a pane squeegee and so on, when soap up the whole door especially outside, the possibility of it drying is high
Wagtail red rubber the best rubber, really grabs the solution without bleeding
FlashTechEngineering yes it is definitely the best!!
How do I remove the glue residue from the old doors with glass in them?
From removing glue I would use Titan oil flow, its a strong adhesive remover windowcleaner.com/products/titan-oil-flo-stain-remover?sca_ref=3020242.k17l3JaEgS
How u quote this French door by piece??? And how much per piece??
Alfredo Neyra for each of these doors it’s $10 each in/out so $20 all together
What scrubber are you using?
windowcleaner.com/pulex-complete-microfiber-stripwashers?pt=MY This one in a 6"
Outside water fed inside fanning until it gets too cold.
👍👍👍
how do you easily remove flypoop or spiderpoop on the window? And on the frame? On the window I do it with a blade(unger) and the frame I do with a spunge(wonderspunge(white)). I wonder if there is an easier way, because I got a feeling there is :P
Nemiat Ekebrev bronze wool pads work great
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner thank you, I will look into it 😁
👍
name of the six inch channel and the holder for it?
windowcleaner.com/ettore-complete-quick-release-brass-with-rubber-grip-squeegees?pt=MY Its these
N'3 2:50 good 👍
👍🏻
How much you charge for French windows or doors
Amy's Garcia these are $10 each so $20 all together for the two
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner ok thanks for that
French windows are the worst! I agree that the “S “ or the “loop” technique work the best 👍
You should do a video about fake French.
phillip chavez those are the worst, I WFP outside of them usually and just do my best with minimal solution on the inside
