Thank you for informative step by step guide. I watched this few times to figure out how to install aerial antenna on my T4 which has no antenna.
Thank you for NOT using the occasion as a comedy hour! You do it quietly, and I value that!
Thank you. I decided to stay quiet and let people concentrate on the job at hand.
Pictures speak a thousand words and you captured the job perfectly 👍
Brilliant video ! This is how to explain how to VISUALLY ! Thank you 👌👍😎
Yesterday, I changed my T4's antenna with following steps of your video thanks a lot.
Thanks very much for the clear and precise steps. I successfully removed and replaced my radio aerial. Go me 😂😂
I am pleased to hear you achieved this repair by watching my video. Well done!
Really clear step by step guide, thank you for making it
After almost 7 years, the aerial was still working, but I decided to completely remove it as it was allowing water to dribble through the mast and into the area where the fuel filter sits. I have also switched over to a DAB headunit so no longer require an FM aerial.
Brilliant video, I salute you for taking the time👍
Cheers
Thank you very much. I now know what to do, it’s doing it that worries me!!!!
Much appreciated video 👍
Perfect instructions
Brilliant video well done 👍
great and helpful. thank you. i like! full view
what earths the Ariel to the body I have been told different things is it the bracket which holds the base of the Ariel to the side of the van?
The bracket at the base of the aerial contains a rubber grommet. I tried adding my own earth wire to the aerial as I did have some problems which I thought may have been down to a bad earth. I run a dash camera at the front with a power supply running up the inside of the windscreen, this may be causing some inference.
After trying a few different things and still having problems I purchased a DAB+ head unit which comes with its own internally mounted aerial. I really wish I had done this sooner, the quality of the sound is so much better than FM. Only paid £89.00 for the Pioneer head unit with aerial included.
Brilliant no nonsense help for the wannabes like me lol ..
my aerial is on the roof!!!! havnt a clue how to go about it,
Water leaks through my new aerial and soaks the sound proofing, any ideas for a fix?
The drain holes below the windscreen drain into the area between the inner and out wing, even if the aerial was not sealed properly it should not be an issue for water to run into the same area. If the sound proofing/insulation is getting wet then it could be that the water is not draining out from the bottom of the inner wing, bearing in mind that this is where anything that flows into the drain holes below windscreen ends up, leaves, moss, twigs etc.
Move the sound proofing to one side and reach into the cavity and you will find a kind of mulch which has formed after years of debris gathering. This is usually the main cause of the above part of the wheel arch and outer wing rotting from the inside out.
Clean out as much as you can by hand and then use a garden hose to wash out what remains. You should also do this on the other side.
You can also open the driver or passenger door and spray water through the gap near the door hinge and into the cavity between the inner and out wing. Once cleared you will be able to see the water flowing freely. I usually do this a couple of times a year, the first time I pulled half a carrier bag of black rotted leaves, twigs, stones out of the drivers side, well worth doing this job once you realise how much debris makes its way into that cavity.
Typical.....just gone to do this with my new shiny aerial and its a different design....the sure goes all the way to the stereo and I the top of the aerial is near impossible to get off to pull it through!! arghhh
