Just purchased this. This soundtrack is extremely underrated.
Wouldn’t say underrated, it won an Emmy!
@@DeadMansMixtape It doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. It just serves as a purpose in history when it should be carrying on to this day.
This movie would have never stood the test of time without this score. You couldn't write a better score to this story in 1000 lifetimes.
Apart from the unforgettable (yet brilliantly creepy score that stays with you)...
Let's not forget the outstanding performance of Tim Curry as Pennywise working; alongside a superb supporting cast in particular the child actors.
Though this was adapted for TV and a lot was left out... for obvious reasons (if you've read they book, you'll understand why certain scenes were left out) but it's still a great rendition of the classically haunting novel by Stephen King.
Inspite of the newer & well done adaptations of 'IT', this 1990 version shall always remain my personal favourite.
@@rebeccamcnallyiiiuiiioothj6743 I couldn't agree more. I don't think there was poor performance in the movie by anyone. I have not read the book but very aware of the scenes you're referring to. Especially one in particular. I love the movie through and through and consider it one of best made for TV movies. I just don't believe it would have had the lasting power without that score. It's so eclectic and effective. There's no question the visual of Tim Curry's Pennywise is seared into our brains forever!
I honestly think it did *better* to leave out a lot in the book. I read that shit and did not agree with a lot of its details.
I like King's concepts but I'm not a fan of how he executes them in his writing.
Love this soundtrack. I could picture every scene just listening
Exactly! That's the definition of a great score.
Wow this is a beautiful soundtrack.
47:30 "Swear to me that if it isn't dead, we'll all come back."
man that scene just give me chills, how real it looked ,
false ego
It’s my favorite piece of the whole soundtrack.
i swear
Unbelievable score. Who the fuck would down vote this?
I find myself reading IT in this quarantine, and when there is a lot of noise I listen to the 1990 soundtrack. It is just amazing and brings a chilling setting. I love it.
This score will forever creep me out, hat's off.
Not to mention Tim Curry's Stella performance as pennywise.
Just the image of pennywise, standing by the side of the road holding balloons, and his face in the moon alongside the scenes with the showers and with the photo album will forever haunt me. Is it just me?
God bless Tim Curry, and not forgetting the horror legend himself Stephen King too.
Also well done to Mr. Skarsguard for his take on the character. (My apologies for mis-spellings of their names).
Thank you very much for putting this soundtrack on RUclips! Beautiful artwork on the vinylcase btw!
Takes me back to my childhood.
32:23 right behind Halloween, the best original Horror movie theme of the 20th century
what a masterpiece!!! amazing music, i like the old IT 10000x more then the new, its not about effect or how scary it is, this old one has a soul!! its almsot like ,its real ,like a documentary ! and this music adds to it so much , amazing, one of my all time fav horror flicks , i in some odd way feel a connection to it, like .. like it was me remembering something that happened before, .. crazy hah
Agree 100%. This is the one and only IT for me. Huge part of my growing up.
@@vincents4036 ya but not just that.. its simply incomparable with the new one, i sence how better it is ... when the new came out i knew theres no way it will be better then the 90s version, and then when i saw it, i was like, ya i was right , the 90s is better, but was also like, but the new aint bad ... but now , from a distance, when u take everything in consideration, the actors, the way they speak, the music, as time goes by, the gap between the old and new is growing, and now to me, the old one is way way way way better then then new,
Indeed. For me mainly because Tim Curry brought more warped charm to the role of the clown
