I sent this video to my mom. She's 80 and has recently retired from a job that kept her in fairly good shape, but I've worried about her losing over-all strength now that she's no longer working. Thank you for creating videos like this for seniors.
So well explained ❤️👍 Especially "what not to do" and "how not to do". This helps people avoid making mistakes while doing these exercises. Love how you have shown the variations that leads us gradually to the actual pose. Thanks💕
Yes to seniors exercise idea -- I'll go the website too. As one commenter noted, that's a really great idea to multi-task by eating lunch while you're exercising. Maybe I can even step it up a bit: exercise while eating lunch while I'm in the shower while listening to complicated self-help audio lessons, while watching more of your exercise videos. Wow, what a time saver.
I'm 74 and recovering from shoulder surgery after falling off my bike. Another 10 days before I can start PT. Nice presentation. I look forward to using my arms and shoulders again.
Yes please do more of this for us. This was very encouraging to get started with! I am 64 and I know I need to do this and it is just good for our bones and builds all the good stuff inside them by loading them with weight bearing movements. Plus I work at Home Depot as a cashier and at times need to help lift and such) But a push up I can not do(I can hold myself up and go a few inches down) but you made it simple to start and then when stronger you progress and then we move on to something lower! Wouldn’t this be good for our circulatory system as well? I just did both Exercises and I am breathing feels great to get back at it again! Thank you!! thank you!! Love your attitude and humor!
You are so funny!! Thanks for that!! But really at 67 I know I should but hate exercise!! But wait!!! I can do that!! I am in the kitchen all the time!! I can do that!! You just gave me a doable starting point!! I’m so excited!! Thank you! I will listen for more!! 👏👏👏💕💕💕
Will do these. Still going pretty strong at 83. Like the fact that you mentioned to make sure you are doing front and back exercises to keep your muscles evenly balanced.
I am 78 and have been strong until the past year. I have had several surgeries: bilateral knee replacements, right shoulder, lumbar surgery/ fusion. I want and need upper body strength (and lower; however, I feel that I have limitations with my knees as far as getting on the floor, even if I put a cushion under my knees… But I would like that to change if possible. Your podcast is wonderful for seniors because you take sections of the body first and make sure that I understand how to do the exercises and they’re not difficult in the beginning so I can perfect my position.
Thanks very much for the video. Great job. I'm 73 and lazy and have structural health issues and am no longer able to lift my 45 pound kayaks. I promised my self I would do it next spring. Problem with push ups is 2 tears in bicep tendon. Doctor said accept the aging process. Nuts to that.

Glad i found your channel, i have had knee surgeries, cant really depend on them at all, i have a crush injury on an ankle and a torn shoulder( in-operable) so any type of excersise is essentiel to me, to keep me going! Thank you!
Truly loved this. So much is out there for the young and fit, (been there, lost it - life happens 🙄). Getting it back is HARD. Too many of us go too hard, get disappointed and give up. I really love your stuff🤗. A month ago ... couldn't do a single pushup - had to do your 'start easy' way. I still can't do a single pushup😂...(I'll get there), but i can do more of the easy versions. But what i REALLY notice is - i feel 'more in my body' - i feel i fit it better. I remember this feeling. I never even noticed when i lost it🤷♀️ My balance is better, coordination, movement - all starting to 'flow', rather than be effort. Thank you for doing videos such as this - some of us lost mojo years ago....and need a safe and doable routine that won't damage us or make us feel ashamed and weak compared to what we once were. Again.... love your stuff. The humor helps too🤗 All feel good stuff, keep at it. ✌️☺️
If you build it, they will come. Love your channel. I have dumbbells that are wrapped in some kind of cushy material, really helps with grip; some are just metal, and you may want to use padded gloves with them. Have an awesome week.
Hello, I’ve been watching a lot of your videos! I had a hip labral tear that after 2 years of pain, I had surgery for. He ended up doing more than a repair. Did a osteocondroplasty and capsule repair as well. There’s such an imbalance between the right and left sides though. I’ve gone to multiple physical therapists. Now I’m watching a lot of your videos. I think it is helping. Hopefully I can get both sides even and strong
Nom nom😂. And yes, I would love more videos for targeted weight training for seniors. At 57 I’m not that old, but I had long Covid this year and lost a lot of muscle mass and energy. I think this would be a great way to get back on track. Plus, it would be fun to have some program I could do with my mom.
always the best advices, the best good vibes. You helped me a lot so far with the recovery from my injuries and your videos are such a good habit 😊. Thank you, take care.
I love to combine the counter push ups with lunch! Finally I'm not alone. I have to show my wife so she'll see how valuable this is! A matter of life or death! On a serious note I really appreciate your video. Realistic and helpful.
4:10 Push up with arms close to the torso and palms in mid-thoracic level is more difficult than when the upper arms are spread out sideways at shoulder level, as this recruits the pectorals as well as the triceps.
I can do full push-ups, at least 3 sets of ten, used to be able to anyway, but I started having back issues, ended up diagnosed with very advanced osteoporosis, and apparently some joint laxity. i also have several confirmed vertebral fractures with 3 inches of height loss. Last time I tried push ups, something popped in my right shoulder blade area. No lasting harm but just, dang, osteoporosis throws all bets to the wind. (I was 61 at diagnosis, 63 now, seem to always be nursing an injury now, but I'm still trying. Doing counter pushups, dead hang and triceps dips daily. Was doing Farmer's carry, will get back to it when my lower back (slipped disc?) heals up. Aging is JUST grand. )
Thank you for these tips. I certainly can use them. Hope to be doing at least one sometime soon. I am 85 and have lumbar stenosis, which I aslo use some of your exercises. Believe me, I have found keeping your body in motion makes all the difference in the pain level. When I miss a day, I have pain, being consistant makes all the difference.
Another great video! I don't understand the part about no gas mowers. Most people I know use them. My mom, in her eighties, uses hers for trimming the lawn. She is very active and when I offered to buy her the battery powered lawn mower, she was offended. Keep up the great work!
76 here, I got a 10 lb weight a while back and started doing some easy exercises with it, a year ago I couldn't do one push up, this video got me wondering if I could do one and I was able to do three.......... maybe I'll work up to 10. I'm not training for the Olympics. or to prove anything, my goal is to have more healthy and mobile years.
One of my clients is 80. After her PT ran out, we started with a couple of exercises with 1lb weights. A couple of years later we're at 7lbs and 30min of consistent work. It's a good thing!
I'm 75 and can do 13 push-ups with perfect form. I could do 2 when I started eight months ago. I had surgery and skipped five months. I was up to 7 when I quit for surgery. I do one set of push-ups every morning, first thing. I also do it for the daily discipline, which I need. On my last push-up I hold myself going down as long as I can, until my chest is a half-inch from the floor and still moving down, super-slowly. I keep pushing up until I can feel my chest brushing the floor and my arms are 100% spent and I can't push up even a millimeter. This last down push-up seems to help a lot. I do it about every other day. It's sort of like an isometric exercise.
When is the last time you did a full push-up? How long do you think it'll take you to build up to it?

I am 55 and I start doing dead hang a year ago advice by therapist. Initially I can only do 1 second 😅 But I consistently try over and over again. Now I can do >1 minute 😊, not to mention I am 80kg, female 🤣
Almost 1 million suscribers ! Your channel deserve it 💪
I would like you put together some senior exercises. I have signed up with you. I need hip flex and strength. I’m 75 and have been recovering myself from abdominal surgery. Like your style of teaching.
I have been diagnosed with FND and fibromyalgia recently, and I am determined to beat it. I'm glad I found your channel. ❤😂🎉
yes im a senior that needs that class!!!!!!!!!
A senior program would be GREAT. THANK YOU
Yes, please, Seniors program ❤
LOLOL! Love you! Best motivator EVER! You just inspired a 70 year old to get off her fanny!!!!
When I drop-off in my motivation, just viewing a video perts me up for the month.
I passed the senior line awhile back without noticing. But then I spent another 3 years traversing the cancer crap. I think I need a more specific path out of the chemo side effects of muscle weakness and balance issues. 🤪
Love your funny and yet useful delivery. Thanks😊❤
You bring fun and hilarity into exercise. Thank you!
Thanks for this video, and the fun way in which you always do your segments.
I am 62, and help a 4th dan in Isshinryu karate. I still do my kata, and that includes Sanchin. It promotes proper deep breathing, and dynamic tension. Not I do old man karate but I do it.
I am working on a karate program for older adults.
People with proper preparation can do more than they think.
All the best.
I sent this video to my mom. She's 80 and has recently retired from a job that kept her in fairly good shape, but I've worried about her losing over-all strength now that she's no longer working. Thank you for creating videos like this for seniors.
1. Push up
2. Dumbbell row
I'd like something to rebuild bone density. I spose these 2 exercises are a good place to start.
Thank you for building this channel.
Way to make an exercise video fun to watch. Love your sense of humor and playfulness!
So well explained ❤️👍
Especially "what not to do" and "how not to do".
This helps people avoid making mistakes while doing these exercises.
Love how you have shown the variations that leads us gradually to the actual pose.
Thanks💕
YES! Build it and they will come.
What you are doing is precious! Thank you so much for all the variety of exercises. Very motivating.
I am 54 and i just Started you are Great ! Thank you 🎉❤
Nom, nom, nom😂 👍🏽😄 You made me hungry and straightaway, I went to my kitchen, doing the exercise, but there was nothing in the pan. 😢
😂❤👍 mine either...😅
😂
. . . Yes Sir, for the senior workouts 🖐🖐🖐. . . . I'm here for it... Thank you very much . . .
I truly appreciate your time and information and interest in helping us seniors strengthen our limbs for better mobility.
Thank you ❤
Thank you. I did it next to my bed!! I will try to do it in the kitchen when I am loading the dishwasher!
Thank you, and yes please share muscle building exercises for seniors. Thank you much!
I have never been able to do a full body
push up so I’m in for it lol❤ let’s get him to one million guys let’s go!!!
Thanks!
You’re awesome, thanks!
Yes please, a program for seniors!
Thanks! Right now and for the foreseeable future. ^_^
Best of luck!
Yes I would be interested in Seniors healthy exercises
I’ve watched a number of your videos in the past couple of years. I’ve always been impressed with your teaching approach. Now, I need to stop just being impressed, but I need to put your teaching into practice. Thank you for your work.
Yes, videos on exercises for over 50 would be great! Really enjoyed this viedo. Thank you.
I'm 69 and ran around my acre from May to Oct. It doesn't take long to start seizing up if you stop exercising. The pushup was always a weak point with me. Thanks for these tips.
Thank you for explaining reps. Especially that a rep can be only one challenging movement/push-up. Now I understand reps and sets much better thank you.
Haha you’re awesome!!! Nice balance of teaching and humour!!! ❤.
YES! A program for seniors!
New subscriber I’m 70 love these 2 exercises and YES I’d love a senior program! I thought your descriptions were easy to follow and appreciate the gradual approach. Also great sense of humor!
Thank you, love that you are so agile and love your sense of humor.
Good morning and thank you for this video. I am 72 and it is hard for me to get up off the floor. I find it very embarrassing and painful. So i shall be doing these reps and sets😊
Your humor helps me remember the exercises. Thanx
Yes!! I love your "style"!! Please build it!!....videos for seniors!!
Thank you!!
I am glad I found this channel. At 72 I was thinking about signing up for a gym membership. But this may be a better starting place
I never even noticed when i lost it🤷♀️
My balance is better, coordination, movement - all starting to 'flow', rather than be effort.
Thank you for doing videos such as this - some of us lost mojo years ago....and need a safe and doable routine that won't damage us or make us feel ashamed and weak compared to what we once were.
Again.... love your stuff. The humor helps too🤗
All feel good stuff, keep at it.
Omggg I fell getting out my car and my daughter had to come out and help me up . She 🤣🤣🤣 so much! Imma do this exercise! Thanks youngun ❤
Nom nom😂. And yes, I would love more videos for targeted weight training for seniors. At 57 I’m not that old, but I had long Covid this year and lost a lot of muscle mass and energy. I think this would be a great way to get back on track. Plus, it would be fun to have some program I could do with my mom.
Thank you. I needed this reminder!
always the best advices, the best good vibes.
I love all your videos, very clear demonstrations, steps. Thank you 🙏
Over 75. Started with these semi and knee push ups. Now over 500 real push-ups in sets of 130 spread throughout the day. Just gotta get started.
4:10 Push up with arms close to the torso and palms in mid-thoracic level is more difficult than when the upper arms are spread out sideways at shoulder level, as this recruits the pectorals as well as the triceps.
I am in some hard circumstances right now. But the information you provide is very helpful. Thank you
I can do full push-ups, at least 3 sets of ten, used to be able to anyway, but I started having back issues, ended up diagnosed with very advanced osteoporosis, and apparently some joint laxity. i also have several confirmed vertebral fractures with 3 inches of height loss. Aging is JUST grand. )
It sho' ain't for sissies!!
Thank you!! I can no longer get up off the floor 💕👵🏽🙏🏽
Yes! Build it!!
Have watched many of these thoes of videos over the years and none have motivated me more than this guy ... even sent one to my 40 yr old daughter 😅
Thanks
Much gratitude for your support!
Thank you for the very useful information whilst also making me laugh out loud. Much appreciated, and I've just subscribed. 😊
Would love for you to put together a program for seniors!
you are energizing me into doing these exercises and thanks for your lil Push! I keep on your videos now!
Thanks!
Thanks for supporting my channel!
Super! thank you very much, perfect to remember all exercises when I was doing as teenager xx
I know right I have 2 or 3 and also the young men that cut my grass use theirs I hope he was joking
Also tell your mom I'm 74 and have a battery powered mower and it's works like a charm. If she used one I bet she would like it.
