  • Recently, I came across this small 15W 12V Solar Panel Kit Battery Maintainer and Trickle Charger. This solar panel kit is made by GROPOW and sold by Allto. The solar battery charger is designed to charge and maintain your battery. It can be used anywhere (indoors or outdoors) where we may want to keep small batteries charged between uses.
What I especially like about this piece of equipment is it is an all-in-one unit, a so-called plug-and-play. There are no extra parts to buy, and no assembly is required. You don’t need to have a separate charge controller. You don’t need extra cables. It’s already wired together - right out of the box.

Good morning Sir, you have responded to me in other occasions in the past about solar equipment related. I must explain my question.🎉 You have done several videos where the 12V35AH battery by Harbor Freight is involved. I have a fairly new battery bank that I made about a month ago with thise batteries and I think they are great. They are four in a balanced parallel configuration using 4awg cable. Since Ive only used the battery bank twice to learn and it only was used to to draw 30% of its charge, I did that twice and fully recharged them using a 10A charger with 7 stages from Desulfation to trickle. They currently sit in my garage waiting to be used. Do you think I can add two more 12V35AH Batteries to make it a 210AH bank and using only 50% of the capacity, I look at it being as like what you see many have, a 12v100ah battery. I would increase the cable thickness to at least a 2awg. Its my training system, with the intention of charging cellphones, tablets, a few lights, and a 12v small refrigerator, Ryobi batteries, of course not all at once. This is my alternate power source for an emergency event. For now I also have the 100watt panel kit fro HB, later I intend to increase solar capacity by adding a few 100watt panels also by HF. Please tell me if Im ok or not in buying an additional two batteries. Thank you Sir for help us, and have a great day. 😊

With lithium, I would say never more than four batteries in parallel. In the case of wet lead acid or AGM batteries, the chemistry is different and so I would say it's OK to add two more AGM batteries to your bank. Other people may disagree, but this has always worked well for me.
I hope this answers your question. Thank you for your comment.

@@shoestringprep Thank you Sir for the prompt response. I will do the investment soon.

@@shoestringprep Lastly, keep the cabling at 4awg or replace all with 2awg? The batteries are touching each other and currently each cable is 10 inches long at 4awg.

Wouldn't the HF 25 watt panel with the HF simple controller do the same?

Yes, they would, but you must put those parts together. This Allto is all in one; no assembly required.
      Thanks for your comment.

Some SAE connectors are wired backwards from others... consider switching all of them to one standard like the RC guys use for model cars. I used XT60 because they were the cheapest (cheaper even than the 30 amp XT30), they shipped the fastest, and their 60 amp rating is more than overkill for my solar maintainers, traditional chargers, 12 volt accessories, etc. Some guys use Deans connectors or EC3 or EC5, but the XT60 is easier to solder, and was cheaper for me... plus no one I know has an RC model with XT60 connectors so there is no chance of someone foolishly using lead acid 12 volt gear on RC stuff with different voltage and expecting lithium ion packs.
The maintainers work well, but those blasted SAE connectors are the bain of my existence. Had several that are wired backwards and several that are wired forwards... hook the wrong ones up and it'll DRAIN your battery instead... most maintainers don't have controllers internally like this one you have does.
