You could plug your tuner into the through output jack.
This box needs a foot-operated mute switch.
Thanks, Paul! If size isn’t a problem, then getting the “+” version for a bit of extra cash is definitely worth it, in my opinion! You get the variable HPF and Mid section, plus a serial loop and some other extra features 💪🏽

The D-800 is a killer amp :)
Very well laid out examples of what the controls do. I wish more videos were this methodic and helpful. IMHO this thing would be perfect if it had phantom power and a built-in tuner. Then it would be all you'd need for 90% of your gigs

Great video Ivan. I first became interested in this pedal after watching your unboxing video. Curious to know if you have used an octave pedal with this DI. It seems that with all of the EQ controls that the Mesa offers, that it would provide a very clear tone for an octave pedal. Thanks!
Thanks, Steven! I haven’t tried this DI with an octave pedal, yet, but I used to own the Mesa D-800+, which is pretty much the same preamp section and I used my Boss OC-2 quite a lot with it! It always sounded great!

What are your thoughts about the lack of a cab sim on this pedal? Can you get by without it?
There was no cab sim applied to the signal during mixing and it sounds pretty neat l, if i may say so. A lot of DI’s/preamps don’t have that either, therefore I don’t see it as a problem...unless you use a lot of overdrive/distortion. Then you could put a HPF/LPF or cab sim pedal in front of it to reduce the harshness

I'm considering buying this wonder. Would this be okay with a practice amp? I have a Fender Rumble 40. Just worrying that the Subway would be too hot and fry my speaker
There shouldn’t be a problem. You can control the output using the master volume

Pre y post EQ. Pre = señal directa sin ningun tipo de color agregado por el preamp. Post = preamp activado y todo lo que cambies
En el EQ va a estar en la señal

Nope. Straight out of the Subway DI

Yes. That is possible. However, i prefer to use a separate dirt/drive pedal for such things

Yes and a direct box for recording or playing live

No. It needs a battery or the 9v power supply

It’s somewhat subtle. If you really want dirt you’re better off using a separate pedal dedicated to that
If only I could find one to buy somewhere I'm Europe.. is it discontinued or does mesa just have huge delivery issues?
The entire industry has supply chain issues, which then cause delivery issues. Add on top that Gibson bought Mesa and the shipping and dealer network still need to be sorted out.
@@IvanBassist yeah Gibson knows how to destroy a good brand. I searched all over the internet but there is no one to be found for sale in Europe. Hopefully someone will put one up for sale on one of the second hand sites 😃
