I remember playing Grand Prix Circuit on my dads laptop when I was four or five years old. Thanks for the video! Brought back some good ol' memories :)
You missed the whole Geof Crammonds Grand Prix Series, which basically set the benchmark for F1 most of the 90ties and early 00ties. F1GP from 1992 was the first F1 game that realy tried to be a simulator rather than an arcade game.
Geoff Crammonds F1 Grand Prix 3 is the 2nd best F1 game i've ever played. The best is the incredible F1 2010 on the PS3 shown at 9:20 The later PS3 games went downhill.
I love the Murray Walker commentary on the PS1 game. It takes me hours to replicate that in my commentary videos for modern racing games/sims. This game included it nearly 20YRS AGO!!!
You can't ignore Goeff Crammond!!!! The GP series has to be on this list!! Grand Prix 2 was not just the best F1 game ever, it was also one of the best games i've ever played in my life!!!
Believe me or not, when I was in middle school (7-8 years old) we use to have Grand prix circuit on a really old early 90s late 80s pc, we use to play it along with few others really old pc games during our free time in school, good times :)
We played Grand Prix Circuit in the office. There were three of us in a small office and we spent a lot of time watching MTV and playing computer games. Anyone remember a game called Snipes? It was hidden in the background on Novell Networks systems. You could get multiple players in a maze all shooting little bubbles at each other. Good times.
Hell Yeah! Good Old Times! Nice Video! Its like a Fast F1 Time Machine ; ) Faster than 88Miles Shareware, Demos, First 3D Games etc... I never forget that Time!

I think you missed a very important game, the Grand Prix from Microprose.
F1 Challenge 99-02 and later with the RH Mod's for 03, 04 etc was the best F1 game ever, remember how mad I was when Image Space lost the rights for F1, until 2010 there weren't F1 games on PC and I feel it takes years for a developer to make the game good, until then someone else gets the license and for a few years it's just a sad arcade all over again. Just remember those raw setups and how hard you needed to work to gain 0.100 per lap, or trying to play with no assists, you would stall the engine in the pits or on the grid.
I use to stop at the local 7 11every night on my way home from work to play this. That was around 1989 or 90. It took a long time and a lot of quarters but I finally got the high score on the machine. One of my accomplishments in life,,,,, sad.
Geoff Crammond re-defined this genre with realistic track layouts, FIA licencing, full car setups etc. where is Grand Prix, GP2, GP3, GP4? You missed the most important games out.
Kid from 1988 buys the new f1 1988: OMG THIS IS SOOOOO REALISTIC OMG!!!!!! One day the kid somehow travels from 1988 to the year 2018 and walks into the game store. He looks at the price for the PS4 and spends his year begging. He finally has the money to buy the PS4 with f1 2018 I time for 2019. He takes the the games and sneaks into someone’s house who has a tv and spends 4 hours trying to plug in the console. He FINALY switches on the game and inserts the disc. On the first lap of Abu dabi he poops his organs out and dies of amazement. THE END!!!!!!!
Still play that using a modified Wii Logitech wheel attached to an Xcelerator wheel stand. Great game. Better than the F1 Codemaster series for the PC.
you had to put f1 97..there was alaso a f1 game from the saga saturn the u didnt put ...but any way it was cool...f1 96 and f1 senna saga genisis was my favorite till this day..
jim miles www.racedepartment.com/downloads/ayrton-senna-mclaren-1988.1091/ here you go. codemaster games are really open to modding which makes such things possible.
CryBeat I know about that. Have you ever seen that mod? The mp4/4 mod is awful. Really it comes down to Mclaren being total assholes when it comes to licensing.
0:45 very realistic engine sound 10/10
still better then todays vacuum cleaners in real f1
You can also totally feel the high speed!
in the eighties this was the best simulator (commodore 64)
better than the current f1 engine
LOL PAGANI
Emotional moment today (2023) hearing the Grand Prix Circuit theme song for the first time in nearly 30 years 😢
the music in the first games is legendary :D
Yes
2:05 race track logic
And the music is as if the game was from the year 1903.
No GrandPrix2
No F1 Racing Simulation
which were both one of the best F1 games of all time .....
Cant take that list serious
I also noticed that neither Formula One Built To Win (NES) and Monaco Grand Prix (Genesis) weren't featured.
where the f... is grand prix 2? That game was years ahead of its time when it got released back in the days!
Best game ever made espcially with all the mods made by players to incorporate new liveries and helmets, etc etc
Totally agree, the Geoff Crammond F1 games were awesome. Playing Grand Prix 2 was heaps of fun, and the tracks people made were so much fun.
No.1 was litterally my childhood, god that game is so good
4:52 Schumi doing what he does best
I remember playing Grand Prix Circuit on my dads laptop when I was four or five years old. Thanks for the video! Brought back some good ol' memories :)

3:08 Nigel Mansell championship F1, I played that on DOS in the 90s!
I love the Murray Walker commentary on the PS1 game. It takes me hours to replicate that in my commentary videos for modern racing games/sims. This game included it nearly 20YRS AGO!!!
4:44 the legendary commentator original sounds from Murray Walker.

F1 95 takes me back. It was a joy to coin the term "to schumacher Schumacher."
Accolade GP, my first racing game on PC! Those were the days...
No Grand Prix series? Come on
I'm glad I came to the comments before watching it, cause I was REALLY expecting to see GP2 here... what a shame
You can't ignore Goeff Crammond!!!!
The GP series has to be on this list!! Grand Prix 2 was not just the best F1 game ever, it was also one of the best games i've ever played in my life!!!
F1 championship edition 2006 was missing
Believe me or not, when I was in middle school (7-8 years old) we use to have Grand prix circuit on a really old early 90s late 80s pc, we use to play it along with few others really old pc games during our free time in school, good times :)

F1 2003 for ps2 was one of the best in the series especially in first person view

The sound of F1 challenege 99-02 is like the real
that sound... tutuutututut :D love it!
The second one is obviously the best
Monaco GP was an awesome game for mega drive iirc. Also, not to forget them old c64 games, think they were called pit stop or something

That tune in the first version!
I feel so old while watching this :/
Don't worry. :/
The sound engine from the first game...looks like a part of i-doser. I'm drunk...hahahaha!
The old Hockingheim track. Wow, we are spoiled with actual sampled engine sounds. This makes my ears bleed and I remember playing them.
#2 what a detailed and non-endless track.
I was about 5 or 6 year old when I played that first from 1987 :D
0:10 when i was to yong i was play this games i like that games
I use to stop at the local 7 11every night on my way home from work to play this. That was around 1989 or 90. It took a long time and a lot of quarters but I finally got the high score on the machine. One of my accomplishments in life,,,,, sad.
F1 Challenge 99-02 For Me is the best
Strangely I kind of agree, I mean those tv cams though.
I agree
Love how in the first video you're smack dab in the middle no matter what lol
7:42 już jest dobrze.
Geoff Crammond re-defined this genre with realistic track layouts, FIA licencing, full car setups etc. where is Grand Prix, GP2, GP3, GP4? You missed the most important games out.

Still play that using a modified Wii Logitech wheel attached to an Xcelerator wheel stand. Great game. Better than the F1 Codemaster series for the PC.

There is the 1999 game missing where it is easy to spin.

Why no UBI Soft's F1RC here?
Alccolade games had really bad sound back then, they used the simple default PC speakers on home PC's, and it all sounds like an alarm clock to me.
