I had Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix 2 on PC and was utterly hooked. My dad bought it for me as a birthday present. He didn't normally play games at all (and still doesn't), but he played that one. Absolute classic.
Just looking at these short clips from the 1900s and comparing it to Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix... the game looked and felt so advanced for its time..
The evolutions/improvements seen from 1990's games up to early 2000's games are way more impressive than the improvements from like 2005 to 2015.... it seems to have stagnated a bit now
Gotta say for a game made in '98 Grand Prix Legends has really good graphics. I mean they look like shit compared to F1 2015 but compared to the other games in that era it looks fantastic.
More importantly, the physics in that game still hold up to modern standards, which can't be said for many racing games out there, especially not of that age.
a lot of games, but only 1 simulator as i can see F1 ea sports 99 - 02 also is missing 2006 and 2007 from ea sports, THOSE ARE REAL SIMULATORS VERY DEMANDING DRIVING
Most console F-1 racing games sucked ass as they were too arcadey and boring. Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix series and some of the later EA games were the only really good ones (and of course GPL, which still holds up compared to modern simulators).
Grand Prix legends looks amazing for its time. Wow
That's not how it used to look like...
For me, *F1 Challenge '99-'02* and *F-1 World Grand Prix* will always be the best!
My favorite f1 2002 and f1 challenge 99-02

They made a mod for Automobilista with cars from GP 1, 2 and 3. It's great.
