yeah I came in here confused wondering why he was calling it orange and seeing other people seemingly agree with him. Like we watched him make it bleed which has already been established. And in Fallen Order we get the option to make it Orange without doing anything more to the crystal. If orange had more meaning I'm sure they would've included that originally.
To add to the above comments, my personal theory, at least for Cal’s sake, is HIS own Kyber Crystal would either be Orange or Purple due to him “Embracing the Darkness”; this COULD eventually turn into either Righteous Fury (Orange) or a mastery of Light and Dark (Purple). In regards to Dagan, when I first seen that scene where he bleeds his Crystal, never was there a thought of “wait, is that orange?”, then I say this video and was like 🤔🤔🤔??? dagans blade is definitely red, but i think that the blade becoming orange works like how cal can “embrace the darkness” with his late game ability, as he uses the dark side and his blade even looks orange when he uses the ability
@@kd594 Both Orange and Purple have very similar meanings in Canon (mostly because Orange was not part of the Canon for like 20 years). I’m pretty sure that’s just how the red lightsaber looks in the game, You can pick orange as a color and it looks different. Ninth sister and the one you get in new game plus also look like that so it might just be red and look a bit orange
Orange is a color least used in ANY themes, merch, nedia, class related fames, products and whatnot. Purple fares a bit better, then yellow. Heck they could not introduce an Orange ninja in Mortal Kombat but BROWN? Heck yeah! Im all for the natural pigment primary and secondary colors teachings. And then theres non colors like white, black and grey? Which is tve " parents " of them all
I wonder if Count Dooku should have had a orange blade because this feeling seems to motivate him. I have no doubt he wanted power over time but during his initial fall I suspect orange would have suited his character
Remember his Master was Palpatine and being an apprentice of Palp he required you bleed a crystal to become sith. I theorized that he bled Yaddles crystal
In both Legends and DC he was already fed up with the Jedi Council but Qui Gon getting was his trigger. In Pleagus he wanted Power to stop the B.S. and bring order.
my thought as well. He never showed the yellow with eyes as far as i recollect. And also he always acted calculating and still somewhat like a gentlemen. It felt more like he was plotting against palpatine and only held up that facade to serve him. As soon as Palpatine realized this he went on and plotted Dokus death.
Dude I’m pretty sure that’s supposed to just be red, because in new game plus when you get the “red” saber, they are identical when you fight dagan again you can see they are the same color
Dagan’s saber is red tho, the lighting for where you fight him makes it look slightly orange but you can replicate the slight color shift in blades with other colors as well. Blue appears more cyan in many areas and Green appears a different shade of green too. The actual orange crystal has only shown to be used by Cal if you want him to as well as the one guy that Cal gets the crossguard upgrade from.
@@ProperBadger Nope, if you use the red crystal and fight anyone in the story that has a red crystal themselves you can clearly see it all matches up, it’s just the lighting in the first room you fight Dagan in. In his second and third fights you can clearly see it’s just red.
I think canonically kal would use indigo since he's both extremely gifted in all form of saber combat with basic force abilities and also understands the dark side powers well enough, but isn't weak willed like Gera
Cal is attuned with both light and dark so too me he is a Purple Lightsaber wielder, he truely hasn’t strayed from the path of light and knows how to use the dark side of the force controlled though.
indigo means calmness and wisdom imo cyan fits best since its a mix of blue and green blue being used by more combat skilled jedi and green by more force skilled jedi and Cal is very skilled in both purple also works but so does orange yellow and white but not as much as cyan and purple

The Jedi’s orange blade is a lighter orange, I would consider this orange more along the lines of a blood orange, just a deeper orange that’s not exactly red, as red is purely dark side, while I think dark orange is close but not entirely there. While Jedi can have an orange saber, but it’ll be a lighter orange like the one you can use as a customization for Cal in Fallen Order and Survivor
Fantastic video! Really like this take/theory of an orange blade symbolizing a "righteous anger" and a "natural bleeding" of the force through a kyber crystal instead of the sith synthetic crystals (or stolen crystals and forcefully subjecting them to the dark side) being red.
@@regulus6773 They do and in canon they're natural kyber crystals that the sith bleed not synthetic.. that's legends material. Even Vader ,in canon, battled and killed a jedi master took his crystal and bled it to get his red blade.
@@Starkiller09 Purple I believe is like neutral/lightside while orange is neutral/darkside using natural kyber crystals. Mace Windu was light sise but always came across to me as being stiff and narrow minded towards the failing dogma of the jedi during the preqel era and never though outside the box. I mean he never defended Ahsoka when she was framed and then kinda brushed it off and said sorry when she was found innocent. And he never fully trusted Anakin even after he became Obi-wan's padawn. That's my take on it anyway.
@@regulus6773 The sith do bleed them but subject the crystals with hate, pain, regret and all other negative emotion DELIBERATELY and SELFISHLY, which truns them full crimson. Seeing Dagan Gera fight reminded of Jedi Master Wolf Sazen from the Star Wars Legacy comic series. After getting his forearm cut off by Darth Nihl, Sazen continued to fight off and kill his fair share of One Sith with one hand. I wonder if the creators of Jedi Survivor took some inspiration from that.
I like your theories on how the orange color scheme represents a person who has not strayed from their good intentions but now uses darkside as a tool for their still good ends, and ultimately sacrifices themselves in that sense and to that end.
I had similar thoughts on the yellow saber, though i don't think it's a "rightious fury" but rather a twisted sense of rightiousness. He saw the temple as a symbol of the Jedis power, one would argue is a Sith trait. His blade remained yellow until Cal released him as he still saw the Jedi order as Just, but when they abandoned the temple he saw it as a sign of weakness and was driven for power to get the temple back. In other words, he didn't desire power for himself like a true Sith would, but rather desired it to restore what he considered to be a symbol of the glory of the Jedi.
It was this in legends too. It’s why plo koon had one, he also used moves that most jedi didn’t like electric justice which is a variation on force lighting, but it’s orange/yellow and it comes from feelings of righteous indignation in the user. I don’t know if dagan’s was orange red, because it looked pretty basically red, compared to my orange saber which I’ve used since fallen order (and have my own ultra saber in the same color😊)
I first decided I liked the yellow blades when choosing one in Jedi fallen order, I saw it and thought this is cool. It’s just felt right ever since every time I play that game
I've noticed depending the conditions on where you're at, night, day, in the shadows ect...... My lightsaber color without switching would look more saturated at times and I believe the same thing with the differences why everyone thinks Dagan's red saber looks orange to some people. I think it is Red.
Lightsabers yellow in colouration are often wielded by those who are honorable and trustworthy, always fighting fairly and with a strong connection to the light. The orange crystal is likely most often bled from a yellow saber as their fall to the darkside has more understandable intentions, not because of a lust for power but a strong passion. I suppose Anakin didnt have a yellow saber because he was always committing war crimes.
That term used in the title. That is how I’ve been describing orange blades based on an over simplifyed color wheel. On the force end Red is dark Blue is physical Yellow is cosmic On the emotional end Red is passion Blue is protection Yellow is devotion to the will of the force. If we take the emotional side We get Green - will of the force and protecting the galaxy Purple- a passion for defending either the Jedi like windu or someone Orange- righteous fury. This explains yaddle having one
Windu has purple because he is able to use the darkaide but stay to the light side ..darth traya also has a purple saber well 3 infact..and thats still cannon as she is in the galaxy of heroes game
I think limiting the cause of a crystal’s color to the “stance in the force” of the user is frankly a little absurd, if not downright silly. If so then sabers handed down or used for lengthy periods might change colors as their users relationship to the force changed, which clearly could and did happen (Revan anybody?) yet its never commented on. In our Star Wars Force Users RPG orange sabers weren’t inherently evil because red is close to orange on the spectrum or color wheel (silly, since red green and blue and blue i believe are all primary colors), but because of the compassion of the jedi using one, which I prefer to Disneys whole theory of kyber crystals.
I feel like orange lightsabers were made for Jedi Temple Guards in the High Republic era and for Jedi whose kyber crystals feel which like orange will be their color. And then in later years, they were not common used and that they are mainly seen with Dark Jedi and for those Jedi who feel a strong connection to a planet that is strong with the force
What he said around 8:45 make me wonder if Dooku would've had an Orange Lightsaber due to not having the Sith Eyes and felt like what he was doing was best for the Galaxy.
The orange blade has to have even deeper meaning. It seems unlikely that it could be so straight forward clearly they don’t possess the feelings of Sith so I think they must be more balanced.
I love the green sabers personally. However all this lore was so cool to see in action. Jedi: Survivor is a gem and even with the shitty launch I think many will still appreciate it
Yeah, I usually prefer purple if I can't have red. But in this game I went with green for most of it, even though I tried all colors. It looks really good with shag haircut and full beard, especially in the dark caves of Koboh. I went with the jedi robes as soon as I got them, but I would have liked a hood and even longer hair. Perhaps in the next game. That would also be better suited for a middle-aged guy, so.
Honestly I thought Dagan turned his kyber crystal red and the reason I thought it looked orange was because the cutscenes were kind of wonky and glitchy so I assumed the orange color was meant to be red
It was red for me too, could be that people are seeing an orange blade because they adjusted the brightness. I played on default brightness and saw a bright red blade, which looked nice clashing with the orange one I used.
This is a blatant showcase of how much the Star Wars creators don't understand reality or psychology. Anger, and by extension rage, always convinces the one they afflict that they are right. One can be absolutely, and obviously, dead wrong, but so long as they are angry, they will believe that they are right. Thus, there IS no fury that is not "righteous fury", for all forms of fury convince the furious that the fury is a righteous one. The entire SW universe needs a single big reboot and rewrite.
There’s one hole in this, dagens saber is most definitely red. I used the orange saber in the game the first time I fought him and his saber was very much red compared to my orange. Maybe his is super dark orange but I swear it was definitely red
With all that being said, I think we should reevaluate Dooku’s stance in the force. His motive and persona would make one believe he should fall in this category of “Dark Jedi”. Unless it’s such a fine line between the two, that how much they bleed the crystal determines whether it’s orange or red.
@@marseanharper2785 but all seriousness compared to what he left, he’s not that bad. The order became the republic’s police force who were allowed to kidnap child on their spare time. Or you know in terms of non emotional clear cyber crystals, he could have used a natural red OR a balance of light and dark good intentions= yellow but with ruthless actions = red. I think and wish for SW lore to have at least 3 types of cyber crystals: Natural, pre colored non aligned cyber crystals. Natural clear cyber crystals that change color depending on force sensitives emotions. And synthetic crystals of either of the two. Best of both Canon + Legend! Cohesive and easy to fathom.
I hope they have a really good story line behind the orange saber. More than just bleeding a yellow crystal. Because many temple guards fell, and Sideous and Vader would have had access to yellow crystals to make orange blades, and so would have the inquisitors. They had a whole empire behind them to be able to locate these crystals. So it was a matter of choice for them... that means for some reason they felt the red was superior to orange OR they couldn't make a orange from the yellow. Because if they could, why didn't they if they didn't find the characteristics of the blade better. So there must be a more philosophical or dogmatic reason, like the modern Jedi could make yellow, the modern Sith must not have been able to do orange because of their beliefs or practices. Not just a matter of turning X crystal into Y crystal because "bleeding".
@@GhostMan407 That's not true at all. The Kyber's Color is defined only once and is attuned to its original owner. The only changes, are when you Bleed to Red, and Cleanse to White. We literally see in many media that Jedi would sometimes borrow each other's Sabers, for various reasons, and they never just change color on the go... This was never a case - in neither Canon, nor Legends... So now I want to know where did you even get this idea...
@@curtisvenom32 I already commented that when you use the red crystal in your own saber in the game its identical to his so that people wouldn't come in here stating how colour blind they are but here you are.
From the cutscene where the crystal was turned Orange it almost looks like an incomplete bleeding process to me. Like if he had time to focus on his anger and hatred it would have turned red just like a Sith's. But since he was only briefly indulging his thirst for vengeance rather than submitting completely to his emotions then the crystal only turned half way.
In terms of how a Orange Saber could come to be: I would say a Sith that more or less comers back to the Light, or a Yellow wielder that "saw too much truth" or gets Cynical, kind-of. In many of these "What sabre color would you be" quizzes i end up Orange...So for what it's worth i totally get it. I would love a more broad Lore / Canon addition (Plo Koon)
it is wrath, and I think Cal was so close to that tipping point, and what he had with Merrin pulled him back, as he had earlier pulled her back from being a true Dark Sister into being a Force Witch, I think that Dagan could have been pulled back by Santari, if they could have admitted to the feelings they had for each other.
I try not to obsess about lightsaber color "meanings", since they're not actually important to the stories being told. That said, I'm all for giving orange to non-Sith fallen Jedi: Darksiders need more colors, especially if the good guys get yellow and white on top of blue and green. Heck, I would have given purple to the Dark Side as well, but Sam Jackson got in the way of that.
Here’s another thing: Vader didn’t even get his red blade until after the suit up and the false narrative that he killed padme. It’s likely he could have had an orange blade, but never after padme’s death.
No, it isn't possible. Anakin lost his Saber on Mustafar. After already being put in the armor, Palpatine - who had 2 - borrowed him one of his own Lightsabers, so he could hunt down one of the Jedi. When Vader did so, he took that Jedi's Kyber and bled it. Then he created his New Lightsaber. There was nothing in-between that. Hell, if I remember right, all this happens on a span of just a month or two... Edit: regarding pre-Vader, we also know that Anakin only had 2 Lightsabers during his life - his padawan green, and his jedi blue.
@@TheCursedCat1927 i think you missed the theoretical or "what if" aspect of my comment. I'll say it like this: if padme ended up living, it's possible anakin could have ended up with an orange when he bled whatever crystal he ends up with (the specific scenario isn't really important. Left with padme, overthrew the emperor, restored democracy but still hated the jedi, etc. IDK). With padme alive, he would have something to be righteous for while still tapping into that sweet darkside power. he could learn about the bleeding from the restricted section or maybe some holocron idk. However, since padme did die, the only color option is red and that's exactly what he got. Not to mention vader was still under the impression he killed padme when he bled his crystal... I think. Don't remember. Edit: oh, and I guess I was also saying it might also have been possible for him to have an orange blade if he bled his original crystal before padme arrived on mustafar because, at the time, his goal was still to use the darkside to save padme.
Spoiler for end of the game Totally makes sense that cal should have an orange saber. He embraces the dark side near the end of the story and you can keep the dark side slow after the story which shows it wasn’t just a one time thing.
I think then a purple Lightsaber would be better. Since he is still a jedi and doesn't feel betrayed by the order. Much like windu, cal is tapping into some of the dark side.
@@Maddog-xc2zv nah, the story was basically him going back to being a jedi. So in the new game, and this is my opinion, Cal is recognizing what the first Jedi'i did which was controlled rage. think Bruce Banner and Hulk in the current MCU.
I have seen this clip from Jedi Survivor, 1 of the reason why some of the jedi of the old republic believe that attachment could be a path to the dark side, Dagan was obsessed with the planet he discovered and vowed to keep it for himself
What if orange blades are ment to show a jedi that fell to the darkside but doesn't have sith training, so it doesn't bleed the same way, but it's still a form of bleeding and is why the glow is red but not the blade.
I can finally watch videos of Survivor without fear! I could've watched this video a week ago, but I decided to hold off until I finish the main story. I think a crimson blade comes from two sources (mixing both legends and cannon in this theory). One; from the bleeding effect. Two; from synthetics. However, red can only come from fully embracing the dark side. Letting go of everything related to the light to embrace power and self-preservation. Orage/blood-orange can come from similar methods, but by giving into the dark side while still clinging to the light in some way. Ignore what we know about colors and think about how the force effects the universe. We just witnessed the creation of a blood-orange blade and we know how to get a red blade. It's not a result of mixing two different colors, but more like adding a new ingredient to get a new flavor.
Purple lightsaber = Mace got stomped, Green lightsaber - Yoda got stomped. Probably hoping orange will prevent Cal from getting stomped by Palpatine too.
I completely disagree with this theory for one the blade doesn't even look orange, it's very clearly red not to mention, even during this video, you show a very particular high republic cover at 6:51, where we can clearly see a gray skinned Jedi holding a double bladed “dark Rey” style hilt, with an orange blade coming out it's clearly not yellow, it's too light to be considered brown this would imply that either the high republic era Jedi allowed the intentional bleeding of crystals, or that orange crystals have a different origin
I've always viewed Orange Lightsabers to be representative of being The ultimate form of balance with the force; Yellow representing jedi sentinels and their ability to balance both the combative and Philosophical side of the force Combine that with red And you get Orange which represents their ability to Draw upon the dark side of the force for combat purposes or Philosophical Purposes to counter act or reverse engineer the thinking of their opponent with empathy and logic Which would be the appropriate color to represent a Grey jedi Sentinel, a bendu je'daii and je'daii assassin!💯😁😉👍
They seem to be setting it up to be: Orange = dark/grey Jedi Red = sith or one following the sith tradition (inquisitors, fentress) Maybe I’m forgetting someone but I think that works in canon.
Orange for those who like Orange Soda Yellow for those who like Lemonade Purple for Lean lovers loooool Blue for Vegans who only drink water White for extreme goody-2-shoes who drink Milk Red for Red Bull grinders xD
Ok wtf? In the official Star Wars guide to characters it states that Dagan's saber color is red, not orange. On my 4K TV, it looked red to me. Edit: it also states that the saber had two owners, the other being the other dark Jedi you run into later. Not wanting to bring out spoilers so I'll just say that when the other Jedi attacks you, i didn't notice them using Dagans saber. I thought it was another red saber used by another dark Jedi.
The merge of Red and White is Pink. The merge of Red and Yellow is Orange. Yellow in Star Wars is not the Jedi who use blue so Purple should mean neutral. Ha, in short, if there is red at all in your light sabre you have sith in you. So… ergo, white lightsabers are pure light side weapons (and I’ll hear no more about it lol).
Honestly, this fits very closely to my previous headcanon which came from Legends. I once portrayed a Jedi in a tabletop RPG group, a former Jedi Shadow on the run around the same time as Fallen Order/Survivor (but this was over 10 years ago before the new canon). I gave this Miraluka Jedi a yellow-orange (but not completely orange) lightsaber blade, which to me, reflected her position and former role as someone assigned to investigating dark siders, the dark side itself, and threats in the Force, in a 'know your enemy' kind of way. I heavily implied that she had her own struggles with the darker aspects of the Force, which eventually led to a balanced wisdom--someone who knew how to weild both aspects of this spectrum equally, but still motivated by peace and reason.
I think a Jedi gets an orange saber by not fully bleeding the kyber crystal. You can see that dagans crystal turns orange halfway through the process before turning red. So maybe orange is a sign that you are walking a fine line between the light and dark.
Aside from his lightsaber being red, as everyone have already pointed out, bleeding a kyber is like torturing it, the moment someone goes to that extreme they already lost all "righteousness" to their fury so I don't think it would work like that. That could still be the meaning of the orange blade but instead of it being created through the bleeding it's just the natural color the kyber will take when attuning with someone who feels this way or maybe it's the natural color of a darksider, we'll have to wait for Ahsoka to find out
I think that Orange lightsaber blades are the results of when Jedi fall to the Dark Side, bleed their crystals but still in their own way are loyal to the Order
The Council didn't abandon Tanalorr because of the Gen'Dai, by that point Dagan had already won them into his service. It was the Nihil that caused the Jedi to abandon Tanalorr
I think the orange lightsaber is when a light side users pour their anger and hatred into the kyber crystal without falling to the dark side (atleast completely) since going completely to the dark side would mean getting corrupted and the sith eyes I think they just dance on the line just on the light side but a bit of hair occasionally floats over it to the darkside
I believe there are still natural orange crystals. In the first game you can get an orange crystal and it looks different than the orange made with bleeding. Cal's crystal in the first game that you get could turn orange as well as many others. This is because maybe some Kyber Crystals can become rare colors like orange cyan and even indigo. But these colors might require extremely rare personality traits to manifest. I dont know what naturally orange crystals represent, but based on the wielders of Plo Kun and Yaddle I would say tremendous courage and strength of will regardless of using violence. Many Jedi feel courage on the battlefield but yaddle and plo kun do not dispair even when things seem the darkest. Plo Kun when he was stuck in that life pod in TCW, he never gave up and kept on believeing hope would come and telling his men he cared about them and they weren't just clones. Yaddle spent 100 years imprisoned and she was able to forgive her imprisoners rather than giving into her fear. Her only concern was with making the here and now better. Both Characters never let fear rule them even when the force or a lightsaber could not help them. Almost like an extension of yellow. This would also make some sense for Cal and Starkiller but less so as they seem more violent. (sorry I have some problems not mixing legends and canon but I think they expect us to fill in the gaps) one last thing Id like to say is I think there is a difference is visuals between the failed bleeding crystals and the natural orange. The failed bleeding ones look dark orange and almost red (because they are red lets be real) and the natural orange ones look more light orange and closer to yellow.
I think his lightsaber is red not orange red. The way it looks is just how red is depicted in the game. You can tell this is the case based on the red crystal in New Journey plus.

I actually really like orange Lightsabers. Orange is just a very unique color and that’s why a lightsaber being that color is something nice to see.
Plo koon used one in legends
@@jsour90 Yeah he did for a short period of time then it changed to blue.
@@TheAncientSith he also used yellow aswell i actually have a figure of him with it
Orange is a color least used in ANY themes, merch, nedia, class related fames, products and whatnot. Purple fares a bit better, then yellow. Heck they could not introduce an Orange ninja in Mortal Kombat but BROWN? Heck yeah! Im all for the natural pigment primary and secondary colors teachings. RedYellowBlue when mixed gives PurpleOrangeGreen and primary+secondary/ secondary+secondary gives tertiary colors like: teal/ cyan, brown, lime, magenta. And then theres non colors like white, black and grey? Which is tve " parents " of them all
I wonder if Count Dooku should have had a orange blade because this feeling seems to motivate him. I have no doubt he wanted power over time but during his initial fall I suspect orange would have suited his character
In his early turn to the Darkside yes, but later on he was definitely a red lightsaber guy.
I always thought it should be more pinkish to reflect his elegance in battle.
Okay I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s seeing it
Ok thank you, I thought I was crazy because I could have sworn that Dagan’s saber was clearly red and we clearly see him bleed the crystal lol
Nah look at it in comparison to the inquisitors, hers is red and always looks red. His is intentionally a different shade of an orange - red
@@ProperBadger Nope, if you use the red crystal and fight anyone in the story that has a red crystal themselves you can clearly see it all matches up, it’s just the lighting in the first room you fight Dagan in. In his second and third fights you can clearly see it’s just red.
@@Sarge327 I fought him a final time last night and it was definitely still orange

@@ilikethesmell7868 indigo is both purple and blue, I don’t think his force connection is that intense like cere’s so imo green doesn’t fit. Orange is my second choice
@@PngReaver we truely won’t know until he comes out in the live action scene but from what I’m guessing is that he will have blue since he starts out with blue on both games because it’s his masters lightsaber or we see him in the comics. Just for me my Cal always holds a purple lightsaber.
But I don’t get it, I thought that was the meaning of purple? So are they just the same thing?
I thought the with bled their crystals as well?
@@regulus6773 They do and in canon they're natural kyber crystals that the sith bleed not synthetic.. that's legends material. Even Vader
,in canon, battled and killed a jedi master took his crystal and bled it to get his red blade.
Dagen's saber after he bled it is orange/red because of his NATURAL reaction of pain and anger at being betrayed by his friend master Khri.
I think orange blades are for those who wish to Make Jedi Great Again
I can't agree more and this would be awesome, also given I love the orange lightsabers as well.
I don’t know if dagan’s was orange red, because it looked pretty basically red, compared to my orange saber which I’ve used since fallen order (and have my own ultra saber in the same color😊)
and how do you explain yaddle, whom also wields a orange blade?
Personally I have been more a fan of the yellow blade in star wars
I first decided I liked the yellow blades when choosing one in Jedi fallen order, I saw it and thought this is cool. It’s just felt right ever since every time I play that game
@@aaronoconnor4392 I felt the same way, especially after reading Light of the Jedi and seeing the high republic Jedi with yellow lightsabers
@@aaronoconnor4392 Kotor sealed it for me. Yellow is the play

So does that mean that Cals canonical lightsaber is orange since he uses the dark side when he is righteously furious? Dagans is definently red.
I've noticed depending the conditions on where you're at, night, day, in the shadows ect...... My lightsaber color without switching would look more saturated at times and I believe the same thing with the differences why everyone thinks Dagan's red saber looks orange to some people. I think it is Red.
I remember orange lightsabers from Dark Forces 2 back in 1997. Gorc & Pic introduced that lightsaber color first
Lightsabers yellow in colouration are often wielded by those who are honorable and trustworthy, always fighting fairly and with a strong connection to the light.
On the force end
Red is dark
Blue is physical
Yellow is cosmic
On the emotional end
Red is passion
Blue is protection
Yellow is devotion to the will of the force.
If we take the emotional side
We get
Green - will of the force and protecting the galaxy
Purple- a passion for defending either the Jedi like windu or someone
Orange- righteous fury. This explains yaddle having one
Yaddle doesn’t have an orange one anymore, she’s got green in cannon
Honestly, I feel like the whole "color meaning" thing has gotten out of hand.
Windu has purple because he is able to use the darkaide but stay to the light side ..darth traya also has a purple saber well 3 infact..and thats still cannon as she is in the galaxy of heroes game
@@DarkLordofTheSith69 windu’s was a gift. But based on my color theory he has a passion for protecting the order and that fits
@@Ghost_-nz5dy I know, this theory links both canon and legends. And it works mostly for both
After you beat the game you get a red color unlock but when looking at it over time it looks more red orange to me wonder if that’s an Easter egg.
Sorry to break it to yall but Dagons saber is red 😂
What he said around 8:45 make me wonder if Dooku would've had an Orange Lightsaber due to not having the Sith Eyes and felt like what he was doing was best for the Galaxy.
The orange blade has to have even deeper meaning. It seems unlikely that it could be so straight forward clearly they don’t possess the feelings of Sith so I think they must be more balanced.

It's red
It was red for me too, could be that people are seeing an orange blade because they adjusted the brightness. I played on default brightness and saw a bright red blade, which looked nice clashing with the orange one I used.
definitely red
Dooku committed genocide and outright murder. He wasn't conflicted. He was evil. So no orange sword for you.

Or you know in terms of non emotional clear cyber crystals, he could have used a natural red OR a balance of light and dark good intentions= yellow but with ruthless actions = red. I think and wish for SW lore to have at least 3 types of cyber crystals:
Natural, pre colored non aligned cyber crystals.
Plo koon used one in legends it was sed that someone who study both light and dark side fighting and force

That's not true at all.
So now I want to know where did you even get this idea...

so basically orange blades are the closest you can get to Sith red without actually bleeding the crystal? I like that interpretation tbh.
I saw orange sabers as those who have struggled with the fight against the dark side but maintain their connection to the light.
Does that mean purple is a bled blue crystal?
Looks like orange must be yellow to start with. This makes total sense for the two new force wielders in Ashoka.
What about Dooku? He originally turned to the darkside for what he saw was a good cause even though he’d be corrupted later.
Spoiler for end of the game
Totally makes sense that cal should have an orange saber. He embraces the dark side near the end of the story and you can keep the dark side slow after the story which shows it wasn’t just a one time thing.
I think then a purple Lightsaber would be better. Since he is still a jedi and doesn't feel betrayed by the order. Much like windu, cal is tapping into some of the dark side.
does cal also embraces the dark side on fallen order?
@@Maddog-xc2zv nah, the story was basically him going back to being a jedi. So in the new game, and this is my opinion, Cal is recognizing what the first Jedi'i did which was controlled rage. think Bruce Banner and Hulk in the current MCU.

Wouldn't Count Dooku have orange than.
What if orange blades are ment to show a jedi that fell to the darkside but doesn't have sith training, so it doesn't bleed the same way, but it's still a form of bleeding and is why the glow is red but not the blade.
Fantastic video of explaining orange light sabers in Star Wars lore, amazing job.
I love how when he looks into his Yellow saber, the light reflects off his eyes, making them look like sith eyes
Am I tripping or is his saber red
His blade is red though....
This sounds very interesting. I feel sorry for Dagenen. I think orange represents fire inside, pain, passion. Like you said. It's not bad color
This was a nicely informative video. I should play this game one day.
If you are right on this, then shouldn't Dooku have had one?
I think the first on screen use of an orange lightsaber is actually GUMBY
I completely disagree with this theory
for one the blade doesn't even look orange, it's very clearly red
not to mention, even during this video, you show a very particular high republic cover at 6:51, where we can clearly see a gray skinned Jedi holding a double bladed “dark Rey” style hilt, with an orange blade coming out
it's clearly not yellow, it's too light to be considered brown
this would imply that either the high republic era Jedi allowed the intentional bleeding of crystals, or that orange crystals have a different origin
I like the theory of betrayal and righteous fury.... But that's clearly red.
No, yellow sabers always make me think of Jedi temple guards
Rey is going to have an orange lightsaber in the next film
There's orange and then there's orange-red...
You nailed it and it’s perfect
They seem to be setting it up to be:
Orange = dark/grey Jedi
Red = sith or one following the sith tradition (inquisitors, fentress)
Maybe I’m forgetting someone but I think that works in canon.
Orange for those who like Orange Soda
Yellow for those who like Lemonade
Purple for Lean lovers loooool
Blue for Vegans who only drink water
White for extreme goody-2-shoes who drink Milk
Red for Red Bull grinders xD
This becomes even funnier if you read it like the Lord of the Rings prologue.
Also, can confirm. We vegans only drink water, nothing else.
I'm playing Star Wars Jedi Survivor right now.
I really like this theory. This makes a LOT of sense
It's seems to be along the same lines as "Force Judgement" which is basically righteous force lightning. I bet we'll see it from these dark Jedi.
When I saw dagan gera make his crystal bleed I was in awe that they finally put the process into the mainstream.
Dave Filoni even said it wasn’t orange. It was red. The saturation and coloration made it appear orange.
I like the idea
The merge of Red and White is Pink.
The merge of Red and Yellow is Orange.
Yellow in Star Wars is not the Jedi who use blue so Purple should mean neutral.
Ha, in short, if there is red at all in your light sabre you have sith in you.
So… ergo, white lightsabers are pure light side weapons (and I’ll hear no more about it lol).
Despise red means evil. Its more of a hardlocked sith tradition that sith choose red as their symbolic blade color, oh well
@@odinulveson9101 naaa, it’s all about torturing the crystal so it bleeds with your pain actually!
Awesome Vid!
When I did a couple of quizzes, I ended up with orange sabers more than once.
Am i the only one that honestly can't tell the difference between the red and the orange color in canon?
In my head canon and in the game I always give Cal a golden saber. Absolutely love how they look.
Whether it's red or red orange or orange is still looks awesome to me.
I think a Jedi gets an orange saber by not fully bleeding the kyber crystal. You can see that dagans crystal turns orange halfway through the process before turning red. So maybe orange is a sign that you are walking a fine line between the light and dark.
Love the idea! I’m with it
Orange is my favorite color so im happy the lightsaber color is getting some love.
The sith orange is also alot more red. I use the Orange saber and didn't even notice the evil Jedi's was orange.
His lightsaber is red not orange
The Council didn't abandon Tanalorr because of the Gen'Dai, by that point Dagan had already won them into his service. It was the Nihil that caused the Jedi to abandon Tanalorr
I think the orange lightsaber is when a light side users pour their anger and hatred into the kyber crystal without falling to the dark side (atleast completely) since going completely to the dark side would mean getting corrupted and the sith eyes I think they just dance on the line just on the light side but a bit of hair occasionally floats over it to the darkside
“His Jedi best friend”
Yeah…. Yeah you missed all the signs buddy, my god.
(sorry I have some problems not mixing legends and canon but I think they expect us to fill in the gaps)
one last thing Id like to say is I think there is a difference is visuals between the failed bleeding crystals and the natural orange. The failed bleeding ones look dark orange and almost red (because they are red lets be real) and the natural orange ones look more light orange and closer to yellow.
An Orange blade is reserved for Jedi that made it to the end with a 15 FPS average and multiple game crashes. They are the true Legends
