Very cool, the solo on T.M.L absolutely smokes. One of my favorites. I usually like the heavier stuff but Loverboy's rock songs have always been my guilty pleasure. Thanks for sharing
I can't say enough about the quality and depth of your playing and instruction. Your passion for the instrument is palpable and contagious. Your daughter did aspiring guitarists everywhere a real solid by convincing you to dust off that axe. Welcome back!
Oh this brings back memories, even if it's not the original recording. Loved this and Harlequin, Streetheart, Headpins, Queen City Kids. Thanks for this Kelly.
Man, I used to really like this song but it kind of fell out of the classic rock radio rotation over the years and I forgot all about it until I stumbled here (from a comment on your badass Rick Derringer riff video).
Love this thank you much, been playing it all nite, what a blast. Great Canadiana rock & roll kept alive and well thru efforts such as this. Great job, more please! BTO? Guess who? Thanks again from Vancouver.
When I think of Loverboy, two songs jump out for me: Turn Me Loose and When it’s Over. Always wanted to learn the intro to Turn me Loose but never got around to it, so much appreciated for the great lesson Kelly! Thanks also to the requester!
I went to a Day On the Green back in the day with Iron Maiden opening, Scorpians next, Loverboy, and headlining with Foreigner. Loverboy kicked ass! They got the crowd going and rocked out! One of the best concerts I had been to. They were a tough act to follow. When Foreigner came back out for their encore, half the stadium was gone. Awesome lesson. Thank you!
If you bar on the first for the F, you just need to bring your pinky down for the chord on the high e and b strings, where you said it was tricky to move to.
This has the potential to be an excellent tutorial. I needed you to slow down on those licks and break them down better. Especially the third one with all the pull offs. It is accurate but you blow thru it so fast it's hard to follow. But thanks for posting. I'm just trying to give you some feedback to help.
Dude I have that same guitar except it has emg’s. Jackson Dinky with a reverse headstock. Awesome dark green ebony fret board. It was my first really heavy guitar. I still love it.
Am I missing something, it looks like you're playing a Gm to an A# and the same with the F looks like an Fm without using your middle finger. What am I missing? Or is it because you never strum down to the G string?
Ok that's why I asked because usually when I play a power cord I would base it off an E chord and move it to the fourth fret and bar the third fret for a G Major if I wanted a Minor I would use an Em which would be just removing the middle finger so the three finger bar chord for me would me a minor, but that would be a moot point if you never hit the G string or am I nuts. Thanks for the reply@@KellyDeanAllenGuitar

Absolutely amazing and lover boy was an amazing band.
Kelly...Brilliant tutorial! Spot on Sir! Subscribed!!!
I know Loverboy wasn't as heavy as many other groups of that era, but this is definitely an awesome riff, and my favorite by them.
NICE ! The opening chords to this song are F*CKING OUTSTANDING !
sounds awesome. I can't believe the tone....
Kelly... really appreciate your channel. You do a great job teaching us these terrific riffs!

This is awesome! Thank you so much.
Great request… Glad you sent that Kelly’s way! I will be jamming this one a lot this weekend!
Long story short . I learned to play on Paul Deans Kramer , not a signature . His own actual one. 🤘
Cool! How did that happen?
awesome note-by-note schtuff.
Saw them like 4 times in the states. Great live shows! The females in the group would bet on what color Mike Reno's leather pants would be.
You look like David Lee Roth's doppelganger lol. Great vid bro!
Thanks brother - I am working on this right now as well! Killer stuff!

Here's some feedback- listen to how it sounds when you play it, and keep working on it until you make it SOUND alike to the recording!
so clean nice
I never realized this riff so heavy. Dig it
Your cool Mike thanks!
Great song!
Excellent! Tyty
Their live version at North Carolina in 2005 is awesome.

How the HELL did you get that sound on your guitar !! Fantastic sound !!!
Pretty cool.

Kelly. You are a guitar Godzilla.

@@KellyDeanAllenGuitar Thank you. Rock on!
Are those original pickups and what kind of electronics are between the guitar/amp?@@KellyDeanAllenGuitar
Hey could you do 7 days over you by poison
Sad that April Wine didn't got the same international attention.
This still carries
Why do Canadians annunciate many sentences like a question also why do they say cheers so much?
Bro. You have to be about my age. All these songs your playing are from my late high school years
59.
Bro slow down on the licks 😭

Not sure what you mean. Three finger power chords with ring finger on the 5 and pinky on the octave. No need for middle finger.
