I make a very simple chia "pudding" where its coconut milk, chia seeds, cinnamon, abit of vanilla and alittle stevia. Mix it up and put in fridge overnight and eat for a yummy breakfast. And its good for having bowel movements which is actually why i started having this daily as i was having constipation.

Excellent video Dr. Axe. I have just completed a gall bladder cleanse which was recommended by you, and the results were amazing! I think it is very important for people to cleanse and detoxify the body on a regular basis- especially given the toxicities that surround our everyday life. With that said, are you familiar with Diatomaceous Earth? I think this is a fantastic, natural product for cleansing, and has many other benefits (even for your pets). Would you consider making a video on this?

+Sherry G I wish more people would expand on this question,if you find answers please let me know…i found this "Chia seeds can absorb ten to twelve times more than their weight. This is possible because they are rich in soluble fiber, which is unique to other soluble fibers found in oats and flax seed. They are hydrophilic, meaning you will be able to stay hydrated longer. There are several things to take note of, though, before consuming chia seeds.
For instance, only consume chia seeds that you have soaked in water. You need to remember this because when a chia seed is not able to soak up enough water, it will absorb the water inside your body. That is right, it will find water inside your body to fill itself. This will then lead to dehydration. Are you getting confused?"

I read this article before so maybe small quantities like a teaspoon are okay without soaking them or mixed in a smoothie

Chia seeds are great; however, there are also contraindications that often get overlooked. I can take a sprinkle every now and then, by that I mean every few weeks. If I use any more than that I have bleeding problems. It acts almost like aspirin, so if you are already on blood thinning meds or take aspirin then it probably is not a good idea to use a lot of chia.

+Sara Loggins In my article on the health benefits of chia seeds, I address the possible side effects: draxe.com/chia-seeds-benefits-side-effects/

    • @saraloggins8365
      @saraloggins8365 8 лет назад +1

Due to their high concentration of omega-3 fatty acids, chia seeds
can act as a blood thinner. Therefore, people who are taking
prescription blood thinners (such as Warfarin), are scheduled for
surgery, or are on an aspirin regimen should avoid eating chia seeds or
at least talk to their doctor before adding chia to their diet. An
overdose of blood thinners may lead to excessive bleeding, which in turn
may have severe negative consequences for your health.
Furthermore, people with low blood pressure should consult a
qualified health care professional before adding chia seeds to their
eating plan as chia seeds appear to be capable of lowering diastolic
blood pressure (DBP) to alarming levels.

Hey Dr. Axe, I just got LASIK eye surgery, one of the side effects may be dry eye. I'm taking three prescription eye drops four times a day plus artificial tears numerous times a day. What would you recommend I eat or any vitamins you would recommend I take? just wanted to hear your thoughts. thanks.
