Glad to hear that he is now doing what he loves. It really is sad to know that he is on RUclips much anymore. But still.. Such an amazing inspiration to me and many others
I owe a lot to freddiew, he's the one who inspired me to go into motion graphics and animation. i still believe he's underrated and needs more recognition
So much of their start can be attributed to their landlord. He was the chilliest and coolest dude (still is today) landlord ever. He was about the arts and supported the artists.
It's such a great thing to actually have a human as a landlord that you can have a conversation with. Sure it's still hit or miss but there will never be a landlord corporation that does what a cool human landlord can do
You two are probably my absolute favorite people to listen to on the subject of being an online creator. You're both very talented and very hard working, while also being down-to-earth. Really appreciate your videos, Jack.
Hey! Great interview! I had no idea Freddie was behind Dungeons and Daddies. Love this peek behind the scenes. Could we have a "making of" where we follow creators through one iteration of whatever it is they're making? I'd love to see a start to published podcast episode, music video, or any other kind of creative project. Would be fun to see!
I encountered Freddie's presence late. But that guy, what a class act of a human being! Dungeons and daddies is a thing that brings me such joy. Now I'm working backwards to see how FE became who he is.
I love this so much! Would watch anything and everything from Freddie back in the day. And as someone from Brazil that is able to live from his passion thanks to Patreon, this is a perfect duo to hear from! Keep them coming Jack!
Hey Jack! If you see this, thank you for being so THOROUGH w your creative spirit. The fact that PATREON is founded by a musical person is so inspiring for working in multiple mediums. You the king man!
I agree with what he’s saying about how making RUclips videos is so difficult today. Back then, you could upload whatever you wanted, a funny cat video, a poor effects irl video games, a comedy skit. Even all the way back in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017. Now RUclips is basically higher production videos, web series, documentaries, even well edited let’s plays. It’s crazy and it’s awesome, but it’s hard to do it alone anymore. Media is mad. I’m an author, but I run a minor RUclips channel. I started it years ago and would just upload gaming and documentaries, audiobooks. But even one video depending on the length took days to edit. I was doing it all by myself. I was having to upload multiple times a week, sometimes 3 videos a week. I couldn’t do it. I had to search for a good editor to do it for me so I could do other stuff. It’s almost on the verge of short film-tv shows. Twitch is just garbage tbh. I tried it for three months, streamed regularly. It’s so hard to grow an audience and you basically have no life, always streaming all day. No thanks. Id rather have a life.
Excellent conversation from two "cewebrity" experts. Also, two guys who have taken a bunch of at-bats and done a bunch of different things! (e-sports player/filmmaker/D&D podcaster, musician/RUclips influencer/tech founder?) I made a video essay about Video Game High School and Rocketjump, and I wish I could go back and include some clips from this!
I was in the military during this and we would watch the videos back in 2011 and I really liked them so good it was sad day for many when we lost all them great video shorts and they seemed to have so much fun doing them lke the floor is lava and the jedi ashole or the kung fool so many great ones.
Freddie's interviews over the past couple years have been so excellent to watch! Being an OG RUclipsr AND showing everyone that you can bring movie-level VFX to short form content, he has such an incredible insight into both the creator industry and the traditional film and television industry - I grew up watching him and it's so cool to see his journey! Can't wait for more groundbreaking stuff from him. This was an awesome interview!
I fully understand that people get burnt out doing a job for so long. It is still a shame that Freddie Wong ended the Channel. I can see by the comments a lot of people miss it too. I'm lucky to have been around during the channel at its best. Just dream of another season of VGHS lol
Im glad you got this opportunity to get with freddiew. Schlatt proved recently that freddie still has the power to captivate all of us. I think he puts his skill too down, as even though it was corny it was intentionally so and thats what made me comfortable and let my guard down when watching his videos.
I think the rocket jump video was the first one I saw of his. It was like the same week it was released. I help up with all his stuff since, well until he stopped with youtube. I actually own VGHS even.
Very interesting interview. Just to let you know, I love scary pockets but dead wax surpassed it. I hope you can find a way to make it work again. It was your new idea that I really dug. Thanks for it all buddy.
Objection! Leading witness! Pretty good interview, but one note that I have for the host and the hosts of a thousand other interviews. Let the guest answer the first question you ask. At 1:30 you ask like 5 questions in a row without ever letting the quests even attempt to answer. It’s fine to rephrase the question if the guest appears to be struggling to answer. But let them at least try. Maybe you need to prepare more questions ahead of time so you aren’t writing and edit and redrafting the questions live in the interview. Maybe you need to think a little more about what you want to ask ahead of time.
Freddie gave me the ability to completely give up, and abandon aspirations of anything. Once I saw the level he and Brandon were working at, I realized that sometimes, even being early to the game, is way too late.
Freddy was being interupted way too much. I really wanted to hear what he was going to say about advice for people wanting to create new things, but he was cut off.
Jack, I honestly miss your musical voice. You're there in Scary Pockets, Magaziine and all... but I miss the compositions, your singing voice, your inventive arrangements. Just thought I'd pass that along in case you were feeling that way too. Have a great week
5:08 Oooooh the Patreon guy! I was wondering where I knew this guy's face. Hey man, banning dissidents is really lame. The adults have been right about nearly everything these past 7 years. You should expand your horizons and consider they're not as evil as you've been told.
Man you really need to learn the art of the conversation, poor Freddy is gasping trying to get a word in before you interrupt with your views which, frankly, are not very interesting in the company of greatness.
freddie was such a large part of my childhood glad he is doing what he loves sure do miss him on youtube none the less but glad he found what he loves
Glad to hear that he is now doing what he loves. It really is sad to know that he is on RUclips much anymore. But still.. Such an amazing inspiration to me and many others
He was a large part of mine as well, it's why i always call him "fuck machine" 🙏🙏🙏
Same I love this dude bc of the joy he's brought into my life that felt more connected to me as a gamer vs what was regular mainstream media
I owe a lot to freddiew, he's the one who inspired me to go into motion graphics and animation. i still believe he's underrated and needs more recognition
Freddie was the first non lego stopmotion creator whose work I fell in love with during my childhood. He is a creative inspiration
This is the most factual expression of my childhood RUclips experience that I've ever heard haha
Freddie W is my fav cewebrity!
So much of their start can be attributed to their landlord. He was the chilliest and coolest dude (still is today) landlord ever. He was about the arts and supported the artists.
excellent comment
It's such a great thing to actually have a human as a landlord that you can have a conversation with. Sure it's still hit or miss but there will never be a landlord corporation that does what a cool human landlord can do
I just want to thanks Freddie for all his work ,it was great but the sad part is that now he left.I hope we can see him again one day
You two are probably my absolute favorite people to listen to on the subject of being an online creator. You're both very talented and very hard working, while also being down-to-earth. Really appreciate your videos, Jack.
Yes, exactly this comment. I really appreciate you gents. Also, Cewebrity!?

I'd love to see a start to published podcast episode, music video, or any other kind of creative project. Would be fun to see!
VGHS was a huge part of my childhood. I always looked forward to that show
What an absolute delight to listen to people, who are passionate about their craft, absolutely geek out! Fantastic!
Freddie Wong was a major part of my Teenager years along with Pomplamoose. Great interview!
I encountered Freddie's presence late. But that guy, what a class act of a human being!
Dungeons and daddies is a thing that brings me such joy. Now I'm working backwards to see how FE became who he is.

Would love to hear more conversations like this!
Great convo with great people 🙏🔥
Ohh, I member! Golden era! Them and mysteryguitarman, smosh

Amen.
dangit, i got this video in oct 2024 and I'm not aware of the sci fi road trip movie he made, does that mean it never got traction?
Always love when Freddie shows up on podcasts. Every once and a while I search for him to see if there's a podcast he's on! Thanks for this!
Its nice to see Freddie on RUclips. I would love to see him return!

I mean Nigahiga did the "see ya" move too during peak content he kept pushing
We really miss the old freddiew videos. Even today watching them, the quality is so.high compares to what filmmakers do today
One of the best RUclips channels that i followed during the early 2010 era. 😇
I was in the military during this and we would watch the videos back in 2011 and I really liked them so good it was sad day for many when we lost all them great video shorts and they seemed to have so much fun doing them lke the floor is lava and the jedi ashole or the kung fool so many great ones.

Been following rocketjump and freddy since the birth of his channel and RUclips. Love his work. Currently listening to dnd season 2 lol
Around the 19 min mark I think you mixed up Anthony Burch and Will Campos 😉
Step 1 - relentless experimentation, Step 2 - ruthless self-criticism
5:28 - to this day I still love their 10 day battlefield commercial video. So chill and so epic.
#StressLevelZero

i remember watching ALL OF FREDDIE WONG’S VIDEOS ON ROCKETJUMP CHANNEL!!!!!!!!
😍😍😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I don't know how to explain this... but as a guy who was influenced by Rocket Jump those many moons ago, this was something I really needed to see.
Heads up Jack, Will Campos and Anthony Burch are mislabeled at @19:08
Thanks for catching that! Made a correction in the annotations
I think the rocket jump video was the first one I saw of his. It was like the same week it was released. I help up with all his stuff since, well until he stopped with youtube. I actually own VGHS even.

9:54 wowww Freddie
ya did it. Brought Valence Shells into the equation 🤭
XD
superb video
Great stuff Jack, loved it
I love Freddie, absolute legend.
You earned yourself a new sub.
I love that he's wearing a Donut Wolf shirt from Night in the Woods in the thumbnail
One of the OG youtube goats
We miss you Freddie...
12:08 Anthony Burch is the man on the bottom right, not the top right.
just met you at creator fest, I am a huge VGHS fan
i love how worlds collide with Patreon
and I just met Freddie Wong today. life is INSANE
16:50 - what he said about dictatorship vs a democracy was also said in their BTS video on how they made their battlefield commercial.
I miss you Freddy, bring the gang back for some more VGHS
I miss him being on RUclips!
Who's interviewing who? Because I keep getting cut off from listening to full thoughts
29:40 - DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's fucking go!!!!!! I can't wait!!!! :) :) ❤️❤️❤️
This guy was my childhood
i’m so obsessed w freddie wong
Any of you assholes know where Freddie keeps the Christmas Episode Special??? I've been looking for it forever!
I'm not crying you are

this was amazeballs!
so excited for this
Freddie gave me the ability to completely give up, and abandon aspirations of anything.
Once I saw the level he and Brandon were working at, I realized that sometimes, even being early to the game, is way too late.
Hell yeah freddie wong
def miss freddy. wya boss.
Dungeons and Daddies was Freddie's rich daddy I'm deeeead
Freddy was being interupted way too much. I really wanted to hear what he was going to say about advice for people wanting to create new things, but he was cut off.
about time!
Hi Jack, can you make a video about time management?
Now it's time to bring BrandonJLA on. You can also bring Michelle Phan on also.
Also Corridor Digital.
28:15 my guess is Casey Neistat is to blame. He started dailey vlogging in 2015 and had a huge impact on the culture of RUclips.
Is Will and Anthony miss labeled in that photo?
This guy will not let Freddy end a sentence. Holy shit.
one more season of vghs please
Cewebrities will stick if we make it stick!
That's a very loud pen...
Fucking legend
Jack, I honestly miss your musical voice. You're there in Scary Pockets, Magaziine and all... but I miss the compositions, your singing voice, your inventive arrangements. Just thought I'd pass that along in case you were feeling that way too. Have a great week
Shame on you for not asking about the next installment of Video Game High School
Jesus love the interview, hate the pencil writing in the mic
Yo you gotta let people finish their sentences. Like the interview but I cringed a few times when Freddie was interrupted.
Freddie Wong grew up to be Bobby Lee
I backed all of their KickStarter projects. #VGHS
yoooo
Guys I know I'm late, but i have a next idea: The Floor is liquid nitrogen/ice! Like my comment guys so that they see this...
If you can produce, why don't you produce autonomously? Because synergy!
Watching artists discover entrepreneurship liiiiike
Freddiew the ledgened
0:37 technically blackface
I saw this and i was like "damn that shit is funny, i wish I came up with that" turns out I did.
5:08 Oooooh the Patreon guy! I was wondering where I knew this guy's face.
Hey man, banning dissidents is really lame. The adults have been right about nearly everything these past 7 years. You should expand your horizons and consider they're not as evil as you've been told.
O
Uwu swebetiesss uwuuu
Freddie created a huge fan base. Then just disappears. Feels a bit like a f you to the fans . His fans helped him become who he is.
Man you really need to learn the art of the conversation, poor Freddy is gasping trying to get a word in before you interrupt with your views which, frankly, are not very interesting in the company of greatness.
Sell out
why do they have to sit so close together. you have more than 1 camera lol
“Ce-WEB-rities” made me throw up 🫤
