There's no copyright issue as long as the gun itself isn't Portal's portal gun and it doesn't plagiarise Portal's code for the gun. First things I did when I got in the game: went to the lab, found monkey, gave monkey caffeine, and vibed to the soundtrack (btw the music in the lab sounded pretty good)
I used to own a oculus rift. I had so much fun with my friends from vrchat to Arizona sunshine. And then I heard about this game. I was so unbelievably hyped for this! Sadly a few months ago my oculus rift broke down. I tried buying a new one but they were no longer selling the rift. Only the rift s. So I bought that one because I just love vr. What I didn't know is that I fell in the 30% of the people where the lenses were just not correct for my eyes. So now I'm saving up for a better vr headset. But one thing is for sure. When I get VR again. I'm going to buy this game... And play the living hell out of it!
Just curious, were you on the wider end of the Rift's range? 70 I think it is? Cuz that's what I use and was thinking about getting the Rift S but was concerned about that.
@@yungrpg9163 a better option for you might be a quest with the new link cable. It has the adjustable ipd slider and with the link cable it can play steam vr games through your PC.
@@Astronomy_Live it's kinda funny to me that people get the quest because they don't like cables, but then they still end up getting a cable for it just so they can actually play anything cool (except at a much lower frame rate and quality than if they just got a legitimate VR setup)
@@party4lifedude from what I hear there are wireless options to cast directly to your quest but they aren't officially supported and I don't know how well they work. In the end it all comes down to what you want. Yeah the frame rate is lower, but being able to take it with you and play games untethered is a really big plus for some people. I really think Oculus missed golden opportunity by omitting critical features from the rift s like the IPD slider. That just seems bone-headed. Personally my IPD is very close to the average so I could get away with the rift S and be comfortable, but that's not much consolation for anyone who falls outside of the average. I'm glad I have the original rift with a three sensor setup, and I don't intend to change that until it dies.
@@yungrpg9163 I was indeed on the wider side of the spectrum. I used to slide the rifts lense slider all the way up to an IPD of 72mm. This means Quest is “Best for users between 56mm and 74mm” and Rift S and Go are “Best for users between 61.5 and 65.5mm,” according to Facebook" Hope this helps!

Just go in with realistic expectations. I bought this and refunded it after an hour because it takes forever before you get to an actual fun part and there are no mid-level checkpoints so if you die (and you will) you have to restart the entire section.

Being a game design student, I have a lot of worries about finding my place in the industry after I graduate. Seeing y’all have fun bringing an amazing game like this to life gives me a lot of hope for my career path.
Stevie Jeets no matter what you make, someone will enjoy it, even some mobile games have an audience. I made a shitty game and some of my friends were addicted. Just remember, cater to YOUR audience when you make the game, don’t make a game what it isn’t. Don’t update it like crazy adding and removing things that aren’t needed. Listen to the community but don’t take every single idea or it’s a mixed mess. Good luck out there! Love to see you get big!
I just finished this a few hours ago, such a great vr title really taps into your immersion within a vr space. A really good way to let off some steam, and a great way to feel like John Wick. A multiplayer pvp/coop with these physics would be nuts.
Apparently the physics calculation is too much for coop.

Is there a portal gun? That would be sick! (Like a knock-off one so there’s no copyright)
Edit: As a sandbox item, so people who are prone to motion sickness don’t have to use it
I like the way they made it actually
lilxi huh
There's no copyright issue as long as the gun itself isn't Portal's portal gun and it doesn't plagiarise Portal's code for the gun. Game mechanics can't be copywritten as concepts are too abstract and discourages competition. If it was, every FPS would owe iD Software royalties as they made one of the first FPS' (Doom). Only a specific implemention/interpretation of that concept can be copywritten.
Disclaimer: This isn't legal advice. Seek a trained lawyer for legal advice.
I dont know who liked my comment but I was a little tired and thought he said Gravity gun not portal gun so I thought he was joking about the slingshot knock off
lilxi Lmao I was confused af.
One of the very best things about this game is just the SHEER amount of replayability. Props to the Boneworks development team.

THE LAST GOOD LEGIT NODE VIDEO
R.I.P. the good version of NODE
Sadly with the right s I just wasn't able to look through the lenses normally.
Edit: Just a bit of extra info
"For Rift S and Go, the lenses are fixed at 63.5mm. This means Quest is “Best for users between 56mm and 74mm” and Rift S and Go are “Best for users between 61.5 and 65.5mm,” according to Facebook"
Hope this helps!

I bought this immediately. But I'm still waiting for the index to come out in my country so I can experience this the way it's meant to be played :(
Same.
Aren't there some hoops you can go through? Like EBay, Amazon, etc?
Just buy it through amazon or ask friends from countries that have it available so they can buy it there from your account and then ship it to you.
@@MisterDarkness117 I've checked the prices for that and shipping prices' a bitch. Really hope they'd sell indexes in my region already :(
I hope there's modding support so this can be the new Gmod but single player, and I also really want a dismemberment mod for this lol
Definitely need dismemberment, as well as skins for enemies and more melee weapons. I want to be able to replace Blade and Sorcery entirely with this due to the superior physics.
