Hi!
YESSSS
YES SIRR
Holy shit dude, him using a literal block of information to fight is so fucking clever
that's the story!
The trick in the story is that other people tried to show it sceens of info or feed it unimportant memories to slow it down, and nothing worked. But PHYSICAL containers of information do. Very interesting idea.
from biological standpoint, his body contains much more information in the form of DNA than any drive could. doubt the writers considered this angle, though
@@seaweed5269The story seems to imply that contact is fatal. You could punch it, but you wouldn't survive to land enough of them to matter.
@@nikolaysitnikov796He shook its hand tho?
" Nobody knows you exist " nice foreshadowing

Hitting Grey, an entity that exists outside of information, with a brick of "technical" knowledge, when a plate couldn't hit him... Good touch.
It's all in qntm's book. Amazing story
@@AndreaJoshuaAsnicar where can I read it?
@@TherapistBoughtFromWish link in description
@@AndreaJoshuaAsnicar thank you!
Yeah, ir porbably should've flashed at when it hit it with the phone when he made the realization.
Really dang good. A shame the best oral showing of Grey's power was cut:
"How was your father?"
"I never had one, my mother raised me alone."
Later:
"How is your mother?"
"I'm an orphan, I don't have parents."
Oh yes, that's a good one. Very quick bit of horror in two little fragments
Yeah, the main feedback was that we cut down a lot which is a criticism that I absolutely take on board and agree, especially on hindsight!
@@AndreaJoshuaAsnicarI mean... Did you really had the choice ? This book is... and has... A LOT.
@@MrPiapiou it has a lot of concepts that sometimes are difficult to translate into videos, that's for sure!

The antimemetics division, where you're as good on your first day as you'll ever be
Such an interesting concept!
the rest of your days are only as good as your first day... forever...
@@OhNoBohNo NICE!
@@AndreaJoshuaAsnicar Meanwhile, Grey dying of dimentia.
Hell of a first day
The performance for Alastair Grey provides a fantastic portrayal of being an antimemetic creature that imperfectly mimics a human, clearly enough to fool at first but soon becoming increasingly alien
Man you nailed it! that was exactly what I was going for!
I can't get over how perfectly every character was portrayed. Grey was unnatural, Marion was badass, Paul was weak but competent, and O5-8 was just the right amount of not quite normal.
I dunno, in the story it's Clay who looks around for the antimemes in the room, not 05-8. In this version 05-8 doesn't feel as scary or powerful.
I'd say stop hanging on to that. It doesn't really matter. The scene was for Marion to explain antimemes and to show she's in control. O5 and Clay passed in the background.
@@joshmeyer8172 I was mostly thinking about the scene where the assistant points a gun at Wheeler's head and O5-8 doesn't even react. He just seems so distant for the first part of his introduction.
They all kind of overacting, but I guess they may have already judged themselves watching the final product. Especially the O5 guy, acting like a gang boss, not like an office one.
@@deniskhafizov6827 O5s are def not office bosses.. they more like, Illuminati shit hahah
Paul's actor nailed the manic following his training without realizing he's following his training
He great!
I fucking love how the watcher would assume Wheeler is just extremely addicted to smoking when she asks about if she could smoke, only for the watcher to find out that she's already asked two previous times. Except, later she mentions she keeps an Anti-meme in her head - In the written story, she further explains that she feeds it miscellaneous, non-relevant memories so that It doesn't go and eat something genuinely important.
She isn't demanding to smoke or reaffirming the question for a different answer to letting her smoke, she's *feeding the Antimeme* and forgetting that she ever asked it in the first place. Very brilliant use of show not tell!
Thank you! There is a tons of stuff in the book that was hard to convey
Book? Theres a fcking book?!
@@DontAatMe The original story on the SCP website was compiled into a book. If you like sci-fi, I highly recommend qntm's other works you can find on his website!

Can we talk about how good the set design is? Because this is EXACTLY what a Site looks like in my head whenever I'm reading articles.
we got inspired a lot by Control videogame and my man Joe Tiernan is an awesome production designer.
It looks a bit more homely than I would picture a typical facility but it’s not for containment so that makes perfect sense.
@@DeepfriedBeans4492Imo the admin areas look like your typical business building, nice architecture with boring hallways in between. The containment areas are basically the mix between a lab building and a prison tho.
I love how it looks so corporate but also liminal

it’s so great. its the first scp piece i show to people unfamiliar with the site.
Alastair Grey’s voice and face seem to not match his facial movements. It’s an eerie effect. This is amazing.

The guy playing Grey drooping half his face like a stroke victim is an excellent bit of visual story-telling.
He's great. The idea was for him to try and mimic a real person but failing
@@AndreaJoshuaAsnicarReminds me a bit of a comedy character from an unrelated universe called Dave Spokesman. He's described by the person who plays him as "if an alien were to watch an infomercial or local news program and go 'I could do that.'"

I do sorta wish it mentioned the idea that when you join antimemetics, you can't get better at it, your abilities are the same if you've been working there for years as when you first join. It's your confidence in yourself and your abilities and your own mind that make you able to do the job. You don't second guess yourself, even if it seems impossible or you don't know how else something could of happened, you do not second guess yourself.
Yeah! But there are forms of training that can get embedded into you, kinda like trauma-response that would def help in a situation like Paul and Grey!
It did mention that though. Dont you remember?
@@AndreaJoshuaAsnicar Unless it is an antimeme that is capable even of erasing that.

The fact that the SCP Foundation is not a TV series or ANYTHING of the sort is still baffling to me. Quite literally infinite potential for stories and there's rarely anything done with it. Stuff like this and other short films are what I dream of and with THIS as the first episode? Holy crud, this is gonna be stellar.
The main issue of the SCP Foundation is its license structure. It's the good thing about this massive collaborative writing project (but also is not copyrightable)
@@AndreaJoshuaAsnicar I genuinely, entirely forgot about that whole can of worms. With that info, I guess I shouldn't be expecting anything like a Netflix series anytime soon...
@@AndreaJoshuaAsnicarStill monetizable, just can’t be protected ig. I’ve bought the published book for this series by qntm.
@@jaytout2224 yeah it absolutely is. But it's also the reason why a studio wouldn't sunk $10MM on a SCP tv show where they don't have all control, because people could just rip it and post it on youtube for free.
@@AndreaJoshuaAsnicar Maybe there is another way, during the save Farscape years the fans did something out of the box doing collective media buys. But I guess that would require a dedicated fan base, a psychotic individual doner or grassroots marketing effort to get that kind of fan support behind it.
The antimemetics division is my favorite because of two major things: its fleshed out atory, and that one of my greatest fears is forgetting something important.

They did, kinda, she said that they only way he wouldn’t have taken his daily pill is by someone/something stopping him from taking it. She probably assumed it was the assistant, maybe she knew he didn’t have an assistant or just lucky
@@terriblej6107 In this short film you definitely need to do a little more mental gymnastics because these things aren't explicitly said, but in the book the process by which Marion found out is very thoroughly explained.
In the book, she...
- Understood that you can't skip a dose of mnestics without being prevented from doing so
- Realized the assistant is the only one close enough who could do it (these first 2 are the only ones mentioned here)
- Asked him how long he worked there, to which he didn't answer
- Looked at the office and noticed there is only one desk
- Realized that the receptionist outside is the one managing the O5's contacts, meaning Clay doesn't fit into the hierarchy.
@@terriblej6107 Like zweetband said, there's some more stuff mentioned in the book/article that makes it much more clear how she knew which was cut from this video.
also the explanation for where she got the gun. "It's tricky to steal a firearm this heavy from someone without them noticing," Marion explains, unloading it and carefully setting it down. "But stealing a firearm and then stealing their memory of the theft is a little easier."

As someone who has watched way too much SCP content and read at least ~1000 pages on the SCP archive I have to say that the production quality of this short film is on a whole other level. Also, I've always felt like the memetic SCP's are undervalued compared to some of the more "monster of the week" style SCPs and am so glad that there's now a film like this showing how cool they are. All that to say, thank you for creating what is now my favorite or second favorite (haven't decided yet) SCP piece of media. Looking forward to 4/3/24!!!
Thank you! we put a lot of love into it! Now I wanna know what's your fav??
This is one of the single greatest fan videos of SCP ive ever seen. When he's shaking the dude's fucking body and his head doesn't move in post and then you throw the plate through the guy I got chills at both.
Thank you! We put a lot of love into it!
SCP project is a bottomless pit of spectacular stories, and the Antimemetics Division is one of the most mind-screwing ones (and requiring lots of CG to film it). Looks like you've bitten a little more than you can chew, but I'd be happy to be wrong.
btw, you forgot to mention one fact that mrs.Wheeler told to O5-8:
[SPOILER]
"Since when do you have an assistant?"
We def bit more than we can chew but we hungry and ambitious
Definitely one of my favorite scp logs. This is better than i couldve possibly imagined it ever looking or sounding
Thank you so much!
Bro was eating a nearly (but not quite) raw, *uncut*, unseasoned slab of tofu for lunch and 1/3rd of a cup of what looked like mouthwash. With peas and a white roll.
I'm not saying he deserves this, but gazing hungrily at a meal that's just a lightly baked (so lightly baked that you KNOW it's cold in the center) totally unseasoned slab of tofu with peas, a white roll and mouthwash makes him a bigger freak than half of the scips in containment.
Please get this man an appointment with SCP-5031.
hahahah omg this made die hahah
Makes sense to me. Only an anomaly would accept, without question, so paltry an excuse for nourishment, such a mockery of a meal as to be found categorically wanting for anything remotely resembling flavor.
No one with functional taste buds could be satisfied by this so-called food.
Well, the Foundation is somewhat of a government agency. And if there is one thing that is universally true about any government organization in the world, is that the food is always shit
@@SilverMontegiu hahahahahahah
One of my favorite SCP stories, and one of my favorite QNTM stories, ahead of Fine Structure.
The actress playing Marion Wheeler is perfect, exactly like how I imagined her being.
Antimemetics is my favorite SCP canon (alongside Pitch Haven of course). qntm is a legend.
This is _crazy._ Easily the most difficult SCP adaptation to do imo.
I'm working on a _Capone_ (1471) animation with Fantem + some other buddies, but it's yknow... like... freshman art school project compared to this.
I didnt expect to see a fnaf youtuber here.
qntm's book is fantastic and we're proud to have been able to put this onto the screen.
Are you gonna publish on your channel the animation? I wanna be updated.
And thank you for commenting!
@@AndreaJoshuaAsnicar of course! I had to put the project on hold for about six months when I realized that I just wasn't skilled enoughed yet to do such an adaptation, but I've gotten a lot better since then and am going back into it renewed.
A buddy over at site-42 mentioned that this is a four-part series? So hyped for the rest.
@@theftking yes it is!! Next episode drops soon!
Let me know if you need any help! I'm not an animator but if you just wanna chat..reach out!
Hell of a first episode!
I was really on edge! Glad you liked it!

I just gotta say, this is great quality work, and hats off to every member of the team behind it! This stuff belongs on Netflix with the amount of effort put into it. I am looking forward to the future episodes!
@@stealthbeatle4945 Thank you so much!
I never expected to see this get made into a real film. What a story to pick as well, one of my favourites.
Thank you! we put lots of love into it!
Hearing The Exploring Series as the voice over the track was the greatest thing ever!
he's amazing!
This entire short goes SO HARD. The actor for Wheeler is absolutely acing it, it’s so nice to see a focus on the foundation itself as opposed to the MTFs. There Is No Antimemetics Divison is one of the best Hubs on the site, and I’m very exited to see more of this in action!
It's our favourite story
Ok. This is the best SCP piece of media i have seen.
The other short movies are great, but this is the only one that taps into the sheet weirdness and existential horror of SCP.
I really hope this gets many more views.
Thank you so much! We put a lot of work and love into it!
Oh my god I LOVE "there is no antimemetics division", I'm so excited to see more of this!!
Thank you! We put a lot of love into it!
Great casting and acting, great set and prop design, great cinematography. Just amazing all around! Everyone involved should be so proud 🎉
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH! Means a lot coming from you! I love your videos. Thank you for being here and for your kind words.
That was great. Marion's casting is absolutely perfect, that's 100% how I imagined her, and her acting was great too. Grey was a bit too robotic for me, although the character archetype totally fits, and I get the vibe you were going for. I'm sad his (to me) most horrifying property got cut, being able to see him through walls and even when you close your eyes.
Very enjoyable overall, and I loved the decision to put the first 2 stories together and skip between them. Thanks for this!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Incredible! The only thing I wish was in here was Marion explaining all the ways the scip didn’t fit
TBH I think you're right, that would have helped sell it a bit more but also that day we were so behind we barley made it out from the studio in time hahah
