Building a C24 right now this is actually extremely helpful. Plus lots of ideas on scale.. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing..👍 Hahah love the ending
I picked one of these up last month and painted it to match my actual LC80. I'd love to change the wheels and tires though. I like the wheel you have maybe I missed it in the video but what are they? More tire options would be super neat too. Looking forward to Toyota Lonestar Jamboree in May and my son being able to drive it with the other RCs. Teaching my son to drive it slow has been a real challenge. I'm definitely gonna have to upgrade the transmission eventually. Plus I think it would make it easier for my son to enjoy. Because he is only three and he just mashes the gas. Overall even stock with the matching paint for my 80 series it's been a lot of fun.
Yeah the stock wheels and tires are not great. These wheels are AMPro designed units with some inexpensive (though useful) 1.0" tires I found on eBay. These wheels are SLA printed and work great. There is a link in the description to our MyMiniFactory. I uploaded the wheels a few days ago and they should be live soon.
Looks like the white one needs an up sized version of those tires u have on it to maybe the size of the ones that's on the red one u will probably get the same ground clearance and also up sizing the wheels and tires they will looks alot more in apportion of a 1:1.cool video and rigs either way
I really hope you start making aftermarket parts for these RC crawlers doesn’t have to be aluminum 3D printed be cool too I’m fixing to buy some for the family and every upgrade I’ve found is all the way in China
Hey thanks for the video. ... I got the upgraded version but still feels like sleepering a little bit when driving up to hill... where do yo suggest to get any upgraded and new wheels ? thanks
I didnt know that there was an upgraded one. WPL's website has a lot of upgrades (I love the 2 speed) and you can also get stuff on ebay. These are on the AMPro MyMiniFactory but more common ones are on eBay.
Hello friend I have few questions. I have upgraded metal all parts on c54. 1 buyed 370 metal case engine one speed ,when i connected it it goes on revarse, them i changed black and red. 2. Metal front and rear axle set, on what position goes that exit of center diff, i have once grease it and put it together back and one goes faward and one backwards, then i changed place on the transfer case with driveshaft , now is 2 shaft connected to this long shatf from case. And i think i lost some power somehow. Im confused.
Well these cases have counter-rotating driveshafts. This means the axle ring and pinion placements are opposite from what they would normally be. I have also seen that aftermarket metal axles tend to have flash that will cause friction and power loss. Make sure the gears are clean, broken in and spinning freely. I cover this all in episode 217. 161 also covers it.
I'm curious if anything from Furitek would fit in this thing. I genuinely want to make this the ultimate scale trail truck and would love to have brushless power in it
No this has what they call a CVT which is odd. The problem is the gearing is much higher than the low gear on the 2 speed and as a result the low speed crawling over small obstacles is jumpy.
@@AMPROEngineering thank you. I apologize for the dumb question. When I typed in the question, I got ahead of myself before watching the entire video. Hence, you mentioned where the figures were from. Your vehicles are so scale and awesome! 👍
Quick-ish question...do you happen to know what plastic are WPL bodies made from? Are they all ABS or are they all styrene or are the solid cast colours ABS and the painted bodies styrene?
You can move the steering rod to an inner hole on the servo horn. This is a cheap car and a result of this is cheap electronics so there is little you can do but it does not bother the usability.
So this is much bigger than the FMS model. Detail wise they are on par with each other but this will allow you to customize it to the moon based on the current aftermarket. I do love the FMS model but it is smaller and though I do use the FMS and WPL cars almost interchangeably when I take them out, it depends mainly on what you want to do to it. If you want it done out of the box, FMS. If you want to be able to customize it, WPL.
I'll definitely will be purchasing one of these.
I have run this with my son for almost 200 packs and it has been perfect.
I like wpl’s just because they look so scale even if they’re not good. But most of them are pretty good for the money
I love them but find them to be quite reliable and great to drive.
Nice overview and testing. What was that - Christmas in July? 😂😂😂
No idea...that was weird.
Man That Is So Cool !!!!! Great Video My Friend !!!!
Thank you! It is a great little truck.

Glad you liked it!
Love the honest reviews and the family walks. We do the same thing here at my house. Very cool.
Thank you! This truck has become one of my sons favorites.
Wpl vehicles can be very moneysinking if you want to tune them properly 😁
Yeah but I think that is true of most things, haha!
Rc as a whole.
awesome little land cruiser
Yeah it is a solid little guy!
That looks great Alberto.
Thank you!
We just took 2 of these from LHS directly to Crater Lake. Probably could have used the extra length on that can. Nonetheless good times 🤙
I love crater lake. These things really are solid out of the box. I still think the tires are too hard.
Hahahahahaha ok finding those Santa Claus woulda made me pick the truck up and dipped out of there 😂😂
Yeah I was not so happy about that.
Very helpful video thx!

Just watched all your Bandit refurb videos as just about to refurb its 4x4 cousin the Taiyo Racing Pick up!
I have one of those to build soon too!

Yeah the white ones tires are narrow and super soft but that thing goes everywhere amazingly!

Oh yeah I make tons of parts for WPL. I love these!
Good deal hopefully you’re the go to guy for aftermarket parts for them lol

It is possible? I know they make a lot of 1/18 parts and these are only a bit bigger.
Great video! This c54-1 rtr has 2 gear? Slow and faster? What's the problem you said?
No this has what they call a CVT which is odd. The problem is the gearing is much higher than the low gear on the 2 speed and as a result the low speed crawling over small obstacles is jumpy.
Nice review. Where did you get the action figures that are placed in the other vehicle?
These are 3.5" figs from Jurassic park i think. I found them on ebay.
@@AMPROEngineering thank you. I apologize for the dumb question. When I typed in the question, I got ahead of myself before watching the entire video. Hence, you mentioned where the figures were from. Your vehicles are so scale and awesome! 👍
just bought one of these and my transmission looks different, would you know if they recently updated it?
Hmmmm....could be old stock of the original C54?
@@AMPROEngineering Ended up being the newest transmission it has the protective plate over the motor like the c64-1. great channel love the content.
Where do I search to buy action figure. In build ?
3.5" action figure on ebay. There are lots. These were from Jurassic Park.
19:00 is a good place to run from.
Yeah I was pretty creeped out.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Quick-ish question...do you happen to know what plastic are WPL bodies made from? Are they all ABS or are they all styrene or are the solid cast colours ABS and the painted bodies styrene?
These are all abs bodies. They paint well. Most are bare but some have been painted.
Hey mate where did you get the 2 speed transmission from?
That is a factory WPL upgrade part. It works great! I got it from their site. wpl-rc.com
Was curious on the c54-1. Why when you turn to the left it pulls the front down? Trim is adjusted but still does it pretty significantly. Any info?
You can move the steering rod to an inner hole on the servo horn. This is a cheap car and a result of this is cheap electronics so there is little you can do but it does not bother the usability.
@@AMPROEngineering thank you. I will give that a shot.
How do you feel this performs compared to the fms lc80?

Hey man whats the name of your intro song?
This is by the band Blue Pinto. "Traveling without Moving"
What scale are these?
classified as 1/16-ish.
Are they 1/16?
Yeah around there. 1/16 is more like the overall form factor than the actual scale. parked next to a 1/18 crawler, this is bigger.
Será ke cabe?
Sim muito bem.
