I used to chat with a red winged blackbird on my way to and from kindergarten in ‘67! They are truly magical!
May all your dreams take flight in the new year, Brendan and everyone reading this!

They used to be all over the canals I loved walking, as a child. They are so common. They were skipped over in books. I looked. & I left the area, long ago...
Was nice seeing you cover them! It's the little things. Brought back those walks. The nature alll along those canals. From beavers, to blue herons. Very 😎.

These birds are a joy to look at when they're not dive bombing you and screeching death threats in your ear. 😅 It's cute when they call to you.

The female redwing blackbirds are friendly, too - just harder to identify.
Thank you for being an ally to the kingdom of all creatures.

Red wing Black Birds are fearless, they will fly upwards and intercept circling Hawks if he feels the Hawks any type of threat to the Birds nest or young.

Hi Brendan. Not all animals will go to humans like they do you. I thought it would have been nicer if you gave the red winged black bird a treat. Apart from that. Your brilliant. from UK 🇬🇧👍👍

They’re gorgeous birds. That tuft on the shoulder is brilliant. They seem so intelligent...
They look at you like, “Hey, where’s the food, Buddy?? Don’t you know the drill??”
You just cheated them out of a snack...
Did you just take advantage of their curious nature??

"And the fear of you and the terror of you will be on every beast of the earth and on every bird of the sky; with everything that creeps on the ground, and all the fish of the sea, into your hand they are given." Genesis 9.2
How precious when you still gain their trust. It seems to be slowly changing...

The saddest verse in scripture for me. Unbelievers can't see the reason we all get so emotional about friendly wild animals is that longing we have for the Garden. We know deep down all animals are supposed to þe our companions.

Red Wing blackbirds are some of the easiest birds to get to do this randomly. I've just used their own dialogue walking, and had these things come over and dance just above and on my head. At my feeders, new ones are some of the first of the groups, out of new ones, that stick around or react the least to me stepping outside abruptly. Robin's also seem to visit up close from time to time, even though they are the most proud of all the birds and almost never take food, just say hello and curiosity. Hundreds of miles from the areas where there's history or that should know me, etc. These guys and them seem to have some very long range mystic to them or almost loose hivemind. Just as their young sense them coming from nearly a mile away with bundles of worms/food. Not all birds have that property, Robins do. Ironically, they're both orange.

As in, mimicry seems to go a very long way with them. I need to rewrite another comment elsewhere, but it's pointless half the time, as in the fact they shadowban or ghost comments that aren't even sensitive or on videos like this and they don't even show up, so there's no point but to remove... or they free them long passed the fresh video date, on world topics.

One of these guys is a real creep. He will go around and like what I do, or obscure videos, plus my comments, even though their shadowed by them. They'll like them once, as if it's not.

Congrats taking it to the next level. You must visit them a lot. Once these guys come around, they do seem to stick around. After I whistled at the first few, they all seem to come and hang.

Great share Nathan. Love that you're getting these birds to dance on your head! Nature must sense that you're a good soul. Cheering for you in life 🙏🥰

My older brother once got chased by one for a few blocks downtown Toronto. They definitely have a reputation for strong aggression... but I've only had positive experiences with them, and I hope this video will show a friendlier side to them.
