typically not, especially if it corresponds with a gas appliance kicking on or being in use. a leak is a constant thing due to it being under pressure so there really wouldn't be any stoppage

To me is annoying that my gas meter is inside the house the gas guy always need to come in and I'm at work they put schedules that I don't come out from work I start at 8AM And come out at 10PM I wish my meter was outside the house can i make the meter outside can they put it outside I hate when the gas guy comes in my house I don't like when people come inside so annoying I always don't go to work that day just send me the bill to pay for it stop going to houses when there's a issue with of course come but not al the time smh

On my meter all the top ones are at zero, they never move only the bottom one when I open the stove
Same here the guy company came to my house and change the meter. That’s the reason why. And they won’t let you know they just do it🙁

My gas meter does have corrosion near threading dingy white, if I put my nose to it , their is a dry smell of gas not obvious. Should I be concerned?

You can but you need to make sure that all your pilot lights are shut off. Are you smelling gas in your house?

This just makes me want to abandon a house I just bought that has gas. It's ridiculously stressful. Electrical doesn't have these problems.
Its not that bad lol gas is great
I mean, if you have an expired electrical meter that doesn't get replaced, it will break down and potentially become a fire hazard to your house.
