    I will definitely look into getting the BX2763A plow and B2766 rubber edge for my BX2230 tractor. It pre-dates the quick disconnect feature for front end attachments, so I may be looking at a newer front end loader that’s compatible with the quick disconnect design for newer attachments. I had a truck with a home plow, but that arrangement was not as maneuverable as the Kubota and got too heavy for getting it on / off the truck. so I sold the truck and plow and got a newer truck w/o a plow. Kubota front end loader for snow removal was a little better on my property but leaving gouges here and there. Your set up is exactly what I need. Thanks for posting your videos!

      Sure, no problem! Thank you for watching! I can tell you that one primary advantage of a snowplow mounted to the front of the tractor is the fact that you can apply down pressure with the hydraulics. You cannot do this with a traditional truck mounted plow. They are simply relying on gravity as down pressure. Given the size of this plow, it is maneuverable and quite efficient. I installed a rubber cutting blade on my full size plow a couple years ago and love it. It follows the contour of the ground on my gravel driveway without digging down to the gravel and keeps the rocks off the lawn. I can also plow around the back of my house on the grass without scraping the grass off the top. It also does a nice job of cleaning off the concrete apron in front of the garage like a squeegee without making marks in the concrete like a steel blade does.

      i am looking at putting one on my full size plow as well, picking up new plowing accounts due to people get very angry when grass is gouged and when you move most of their gravel into piles. the one im looking at is 1.5 inches thick byt 10 inches should give plenty of wear. just lower or flip around . what type of edge did you put on. and did it do well with a heavy wet snow

    Nice job. You have a really great attitude and willingness to learn - so refreshing to see. That rubber cutting edge really did perform well so it was a smart purchase. You're also a very good neighbor, which is nice. Now you need to get a canopy to keep yourself from getting soaked! I'd love to have a cab, but just couldn't justify the expense so in 2017 I bought a RhinoHide canopy for my BX24 and have never regretted it. BTW, I'm near Gettysburg and will be plowing our 5 inches or so in the morning.

      A RITTER BIT WILL DO thank you! It works great. It’s a bit pricey at $280 but the rubber edge is easily an inch or more thick. Also, notice that it can be flipped around to wear the other side. It’s definitely very well engineered as one would expect from Kubota!

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon 5 лет назад +1

      I did notice that it can be flipped. I bet you get 4-5 seasons out of it before you need to flip it. Should last you a long long time!

      Mark Zablotny thank you! Since my Toyota Tundra does not fit in my garage, I decided to dedicate that bay for my workbench. Believe it or not, I got the basic plans for the workbench from the Lowe’s website about 12 years ago. At the time, it cost me about $300 in materials to build (including the power outlets). I actually built it at a custom height for me since I am 6’3”. Maybe I need to do a video on this in the future.

    You & your Kubota are definitely the Boss!! Very nice work!! If I were your neighbor you'd be my hero too!! I wonder if the rubber blade would be available for a rear blade, I bought a land pride RB2672 for my L2501 this season. I think I would really like that!

    I have a Kubota BX25D with the 50 inch front mounted snow blower, which is very handy for clearing large amounts of snow.
    But when there's only a few inches of snow, I use the ATV with the snow plow, which is faster.
    On the other hand, the ATV is less powerful than the Kubota, and it doesn't apply downward force to the blade.
    I therefore hesitate to modify the blade to adapt it to the front hitch of the Kubota, since this would involve regularly changing from the snowblower to the blade, and vice versa.
    The other option would be to remove the backhoe in order to install a blade on the 3 point hitch.
    I will therefore have to make a decision, which will also take into account the fact that the Kubota is equipped with a Curtis heated cab.

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  Год назад

      I realize it can be a literal “pain in the neck” and you would have to purchase a new snow blower, but you could do a rear mount snowblower and front mount plow on the Kubota to have the best of both worlds. With that being said, it would be quite long in terms of watching when you back up around buildings, cars, etc. But, it’s a thought. That’s for watching! Please consider subscribing!

    Do you still use the skid shoes with the rubber blade or let the whole weight of the blade scrape the pavement

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  4 года назад

      Ray Joyce I don’t use the skid shoes with the rubber blade. The whole purpose of the rubber blade is to scrape the hard surface without damage.

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  5 лет назад

      Nick Freyermuth thank you! You could put a snowblower on the front or rear. The quick hitch on the front that takes the utility blade can also accept a front mount snowblower. The rear 3 point could accept a snowblower as well.

    I'll trade you my driveway for your driveway. Just got an aftermarket rubber cutting edge for my Land Pride STB1072 and hope to have similar success on my gravel driveway. The metal edge dug up the stone and the poly edge folded in the corners after one use.

    Just saw around the 5 minutes mark it’s an 1870. Do you feel it has enough power for the jobs you’re doing with it?

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  5 лет назад

      BBQ, Bowhunting and Boating absolutely. When it comes to plowing and non-PTO work I can’t imagine there’s much difference in only a few horsepower. I understand more horsepower is more horsepower and the 1870 is low on rear PTO horsepower but overall it exceeds all my needs. At this time, I do not have any rear PTO driven implements.
      Keep in mind that it’s not a huge difference but a smaller tractor like the 1870 is way better on fuel than it’s higher horsepower counterparts.

    Great video. I have the same plow and a new asphalt driveway. Why did you decide to take off the shoes? I might try to cut a horse stall mat to see if that works as well. $250 for the kits seem really pricey.

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  2 года назад

      I took the shoes off for two reasons. The first reason is that my driveway has uneven concrete slabs so to make the plow work effectively with the steel cutting edge and the shoes, I had to set them down so far that it left behind way too much snow. The second reason is that with the rubber cutting edge, I can scrape my driveway down to the concrete, including the uneven parts.
      If I would have removed the shoes with the steel cutting edge in place, I would have caught the edge on the edge of the concrete slabs. That immediately causes the blade trip springs to kick in. It is also not fun from the seat of the tractor to hit the edge of concrete.

    How does the rubber edge scrape compared to the steel edge?

    • @averagejoevideo9556
      @averagejoevideo9556  3 года назад

      Marc Pagnucco the rubber edge actually does quite well, as long as you don’t wait too long. In other words, if you got out and plow immediately after the storm, it isn’t an issue, but, if you wait until the next day when things typically thaw and re-freeze you won’t be able to remove the ice. There are advantages to both the rubber edge and the steel edge.

    • @mdp66403
      @mdp66403 3 года назад

      averagejoevideo Thanks for the quick reply. Your response is pretty much what I figured. We have been getting a lot of snow/ice/rain storms up here in CT the last few years. With this garbage, it seems only a steel edge with down pressure works to peel it up. I can definitely see some of the advantages, but also some of its faults. I suppose it’s not too expensive to give it a try though...

      @averagejoevideo9556  3 года назад

      Marc Pagnucco no problem. Be sure to subscribe. I plan to be uploading more videos in the near future. As far as cost is concerned, it’s about $250. It is honestly a bit of a pain to take on and off, but it’s certainly not something you’ll do in 5 minutes.
