BBE Sonic Maximizer
The 482i Sonic Maximizer restores natural brilliance and clarity to an audio signal by the use of two integrated functions. First, it adjusts the phase relationships between the low, mid and high frequencies through adding progressively longer delay times to lower frequencies, creating a kind of mirror curve to neutralize the effect of loudspeaker phase distortion. Second, the Sonic Maximizer augments higher and lower frequencies as loudspeakers tend to be less efficient in their extreme treble and bass ranges. The end result is a dynamic, program-driven restoration which reveals more of the natural texture and detail in the sound without causing fatigue that is often associated with exciter effects, psychoacoustic processors or excessive use of equalizers.

Nice video. I was trying to find out info on the BBE Sonic Maximizer 482. (With the blue front panel) as I see a lot of variations, including the Red units.

I have a 16 channel presonus live , and 4 kla12's (wire goes to KW181(2) then to Kla12(X2) a side). My plan is to try direct mixer out to the BBE 882i then to the speakers. You think it will sound more cleaner for Live and sometimes DJ scenario for ?

the problem is people are applying on the recording side, and another person has the same effect playback side, the result is constant tweaking, its a pain in the ass! IT should be the job of the recording guy to have this in imo not the listener with all these dubious sound enhancements. I'm confident that EQ controls as found on solid state amps is a left over from old tube amps, based on old tube guitar cabs, where these EQs where actually effective. In an all solid state amp, Treble and Bass controls are pretty much redundant.
