      +Erik Dawson - I was just about to purchase a beautiful pearl white one with a deep brown leather interior..which are really hard to find..but then I found out how much it costs to replace the air springs and turned away. Each air spring costs over a thousand dollars to replace..and I just can't justify spending that much..especially since the air springs usually go out after about 10 years. So I am now just looking for one with the regular suspension..and I have been told the regular suspension is softer than the air springs. I hope you have saved up for this repair..because it's inevitable my friend. Enjoy your ride!

    • @mrdoofa9357
      @mrdoofa9357 6 лет назад +4

      If the air suspension goes it can easily be replaced by standard shocks and springs. It isn’t inevitable either, I’ve seen plenty high mileage cars well over 10 years old still riding on original suspension with no problems.

    I own a 2001 LS430, current mileage is 175,000 miles and it's completely original, beside the timing belt, serpentine belt, tires, brake pads, engine oil and windshield washed fluid. I've never serviced the transmission or power steering. Still drives like a dream.

    2006 LS430. Still current , As good as anything on the road today . Just add bluetooth and Sat radio and bingo it is almost a good as today's LS460 . It is supremely quiet , comfortable , handles well , reasonably quick and efficient . This might be the best used car value out there . They hold up so well that a 7 year old LS430 at $20,000 is a far better car than a new 2013 Kia , Hyundai, Honda , Toyota etc . t won't get the mileage but if gas isn't an issue this is a far better ride.

    Yes nightbird people dont believe its not luxury without reliabilities . My Benz has left me stranded over ten times . It's just too embarassing to be on the road stranded in a s500 ,so I had to do what's best for be . I have own 7 series ,5 series , ls400 ,3.5 rl and few lexus to know that when I'm on vacation the last thing I want to be is stranded on the interstate at midnight in Florida . Lexus is a great car and on the highway there is really nothing to complain .

    The Lexus is quieter smoother and quicker , but it lacks handling the road . It can go pound for pound with any full size luxury car and believe me I have own 7 series BMW and I have driven JAG but the lex is a car that makes me enjoy driving . While the Benz had new issue everyday, it cost me so much money to keep it on the road . I couldn't wait to dump the Benz

  • @RonTimmonsM1

    I hit 510,000 miles on my Lexus LS never had one issue other than regular maintenance. I had an accident in the car it was so big and so well made I didn't get a scratch. Since then I have had 4 more of these cars. I prefer the non-air ride suspension vs air ride though. Other cars I hit 300k, 220k and driving one now with 150k. I wish I could find black on black with less than 20k miles. I would snag it up and drive it for 10 years.

  • @slowazbmwkilla3073
    @slowazbmwkilla3073 11 лет назад +16

    The ls 430 is car that puts the Mercedes and BMW to shame . If you think the Benz is a better car , you might consider driving a ls430 on a trip to realized that the ls is way more comfy than the rival European saloon. I drop my s500 for the ls just because it suit me better and don't get me wrong , the Benz to me is just a stretch c class . The ride is nice but its not a Lexus kind of ride . In my personal experience I believe luxury comes with reliabilities and build quality .

  • @ruzzelladrian907
    @ruzzelladrian907 5 лет назад +4

    The LS430 doesn't cost much on maintenance. Because Lexus might be Toyota's luxury brand, but Lexus shares Toyota's renowned reliability, just in a package that competes with other luxury brands.

    I laugh everytime I pull up to a 750 Li BMW and Mercedes s class because I know I don't spend anything fixing my car . Anybody that is looking for a true luxury sedan needs to go drive a BMW and Mercedes then drive the ls . You will be amazed , its like you don't even feel like you're driving . The other German car owner wants to feel like their driving , but where's,the luxury. To that . I rather feel like I'm sitting at home then driving ...

    I was looking for a different car after getting tired of my 2008 Honda, which I forced myself to buy for fuel economy reasons when gas prices went up in 2008. I could not find a better all around value on the used luxury market than an LS430. I bought my LS430 Modern Luxury with chrome wheels and SmartAccess key in September 2011. I could not be happier. I now have 64,000 miles on this 2004 and sincerely hope to put another 100,000 on her.

      @@k.c.marshall921the pre-facelift LS430 is genuinely an ugly looking car from the front. If you’re gonna get a 430 it HAS to be the facelift 04-06. I can’t express how ugly the first gen 430 is lol my personal opinion, the 95-97 LS400 is the best looking one, coming about the same as the 98-00 400, then the 04-06 430.

      johnny Macon the only issues I've heard with the LS460 was the control arm bushings would go bad on early model years and some people had the brake actuator go bad but not many. The engine and transmission have been bulletproof, I've seen LS460s with over 250k. My friends have an 09 IS350 and 2010 es350 and both of their cars have been super reliable too. Only newer model I'd avoid is the is250 since the engine had carbon buildup issues
