  • Finally took delivery of my brand new 2023 Gheenoe LT25, then brought it to Tuppens marine to be rigged with a brand new Yamaha 25hp Outboard. They did an excellent job and the torque and top speed difference from my old boat is incredible.

    I have this exact Gheenoe, down to the color. Mine has a 25hp Suzuki . Mine has additional things such as a cooler which adds weight. Mine runs 28mph, if your Suzuki didnt hit that something was wrong. Yamaha does NOT out perform Suzuki. My son and I combined weigh 400lbs and hit 28mph with a loaded cooler and live well. I understand you’re sponsored by Yamaha but please don’t mislead others. Nice boat, though!

    • @BottomLineBassin2
      @BottomLineBassin2 Месяц назад +1

      Bit of a stretch to claim that Suzuki outperforms Yamahas. The power to weight ratio on paper immediately proves that wrong. There are many variables to speed, prop pitch, trim, weight distribution, etc. Suzuki makes a great engine, no doubt, but the consensus among the Gheenoe community puts Yamaha in first place.

    Something was wrong with that Suzuki if it was only hitting 23mph. I've had an LT25 with a 50 Yam 2 stroke (Raptor), a 25 Yam 2 stroke (Tiller) and an 18 Tohatsu 2 stroke (Tiller) and even the 18 did 24 mph. With that said the Tohatsu 30 4 stroke in a CC set up will be my next. These hulls have a lip in the rear that helps lift the stern on plane but really causes diminishing gains speedwise after 30hp. Also, if you prop that 25 Yam right you should be able to touch 30mph in flat water.

      Don't do it , I have owned 3 LT25's I hated the center console it takes up too much room especially if you are fishing 2 people . I recommend the side console or tiller I currently run the side console with a brand new Suzuki I get over 30 mph .I did have a 40 hp mercury on it but that was just way too much motor

    I’m a Yamaha fan too have one on my bay boat but they normally use the tohatsu because it is a large displacement 3 cylinder,it has a ton of torque especially when the boats loaded down may be a little heavy but my lt has the tohatsu and could t be happier with it and Gheenoe recommends that engine awesome boat though

    That Yamaha is no faster top in speed than the Suzuki! May be the difference in props. The reliability of the Suzuki is greater than the Yamaha, because it has a timing chain instead of a belt that needs maintenance adjustments. Also the warranty on the Suzuki is twice that of the Yamaha. Plus you paid much more for that Yamaha.
