Hopefully martial arts at this level will not die out, that is some insane insane training. Hitting all those balls at that speed would be a feat if they were standing still, but all those targets are bouncing and moving and he is still hitting them at insane speeds with his feet and hands. This is insane
Jet Li... for those of you who doubt him.. This is an amazing look into his training and conditioning. He is quite young here but he continues to train just like this.
yang be He has a functional built. Try putting a jacked bodybuilder in wushu, basketball, soccer or any sport that requires endurance. They won’t last long as big muscles require more oxygen.
I think donnie yen is better. Bcoz he've mastered many martial arts and he once fought and hospitalised 8 thugs by himself when he was young. But jet is a beast also
I can't understand or read what they are saying. It's surprising to see resistance band training, especially if the clip tries to imply china before 20th century. That leg circle around the bottle, I've used for many years, very interesting to see Jet Li using this technique with very good form.
If there is one thing I have observed from watching martial arts movies, fighting documentaries, basic military training boxing kickboxing, Pro wrestling and MMA training films is that to be able to fight for real the 1st step body conditioning and stamina building. People forget that it doesn't matter how talented one is. all training and practice requires ones body be at a certain level of speed, strength, agility, endurance, stamina and sometimes flexibility for any fighting techniques to be effective. that's why you see most military and law enforcement undergo alot of Physical training before or during qualifying courses or in classic martial arts movies the protagonist is force to endure alot of strength and endurance exercise before the master could even begin to teach them the techniques. Professional fighters start with more basic exercise at their rookie stage then they learn to strike then learn blocking and dodging then they spare.
That is really, really fast. Here's a tip, watch it a few times but just watch his shoulders, then his hips, then his legs, then his feet. Gives you a general idea of how to give yourself a chance against something that fast. Not that just watching a video would do anything, but still, knowledge=power :D
SIMPLY AMAZING ! everyone can see that he is amazing and all the BIG MOUTHS who criticize on here are never going to be in a state final let alone Make history or movies.
Jet Li's training is very difficult that's why it made him so strong and fast. He is better than Donnie Yen and Jackie Chan but sadly there is something wrong with his condtion right now. God bless you Jet.
The whole mindset of this way to practise and live martial arts is totally diffrent than whats seen in the UFC arena, so be quit about it. This is real art.
Wow wow wow, that balls he used for training was in his movie, i remember the movie but forgot the title. The movie was shot in usa but it's Hongkong production.
I've never seen Jet Li enter a fighting competition before. What he enter are Wushu Championships, and trust me, he has NEVER lost. But that doesn't satisfy him, that's why he try to learn different style, like Tai chi and other kind of martial arts to enhance his techniques, if you watch the whole movie above. I once believe that Jet can act better than fight, but seeing this documentary, I've never had the same thought again. Just amazing!
jet li has never participated in an official fighting competition. but Jet li is a graduate of Shaolin and the Beijing Wushu Team. he must have studied and practiced Sanda/Sanshou. Sanda has sent many fighters and become a champion in Kickboxing and MMA. No need to practice any martial arts anymore if you learn Shaolin martial arts, Don Wilson has proven that he is a Pai Lum Tao practitioner of the Northern Shaolin style, he slaughtered all kickboxing fighters and the world kickboxing association crowned him as the greatest kickboxer in history with 11 times being world champion kickboxing. It's a different story if he has to fight in MMA maybe he needs additional training such as Shua Jiao/Chinese Wresler, Jiujitsu, Judo
I love how the chinese gotta put sound effects in EVERY move they do. If they sit down it sounds like they just snapped a towel. When he pulls on the rope forward his flexilng causes sound effects. LOL. Still awesome video.. Thx for posting
for those who think this isn't jet li, just read the subtitles that are on the video. Notice how it says "li lian jie" at times? That's Jet Li's actual name. Jet Li is he stage name for America because it's easier to remember.
Your knuckle bones gets sore and if they break they will become stronger as they're healing. You can see this through a x-ray, the highlighted yellow areas through a x-ray are the areas that were strengthen after the bones heal. Training like this had been done for thousands of years, beating your own body to the breaking point and letting it heal to strengthen it. Boxers, martial art fighters, and etc. It goes to show that what does kill you makes you stronger.
I'm not saying he's weak, I'm just pointing out a weakness in his training. You're right, he isn't a street fighter. He trains for discipline, and if that helps him do his stunts and keep healthy and whatnot, then all the more power to him.
What dancer? You are just an idiot. He never fight so you called him a dancer, why he need to fight? He is not competing in mma or any other rings fight. Shame on you.
Jet Li is the shiznit, He is the real thing, No fakes. This guy's speed and accuracy is amazing. Plus he is studying Bua Gua and energy Art fighting style used to fend off 8 opponents at once. Usually they train by walking in a pattern around a tree and it take more than 15 years practice just to get the walking part down. Only 1 master exists for this art and its one of the craziest and hardest styles. He uses it at the End of the movie THE ONE..which shows its great representation.
@EMDIESEL - Its a book of blank paper. Shaolin training does this as well. The paper keeps the hand from getting surface damage, yet allows very hard contact forces. This will densify & strengthen the internal bones, body structure, and tissues. An alternative is wall mounted sandbags, which have the same effects, without needing replacement like the paper targets.
The English translation is hilarious. The first line "insist on stable practice and you will make it" is nowhere close to what the narrator actually says: "Sit like a bell (the bell tower type), stand like a pine tree, move like the wind, crouch like a bow."
The ultimate goal in Wushu is to be able to win or completely avoid a conflict without ever physically fighting. However, to say that it is not a combat art, or that a man well trained in Wushu would have a hard time in a fight, that is another matter. It is not a brutal art, but if properly applied to a given situation an excellent weapon to have in one's arsenal. Wisdom and experience are the greatest attributes of a Wushu master. Not to denote the physical prowess and capabilities of course:)
Absolutely. Unfortunately, some people's minds are so closed to other perspectives that attempting to discuss anything with them is an exercise in futility.
@ViietML A good jab is meant to disrupt your opponents rhythm, set up a stronger strike, gauge distance and keep an opponent away. It's a fast strike with no weight. Adding weight to it makes it a lead straight which produces more power although it's not comparable to the rear cross. In his demos, BL also throws strikes and stops short before his partner to demonstrate his 'awesome control' although he stands perfectly outside the range. What a great way to legitimize his God-like skills!
Not a movie, he wasn't always an actor, as a matter of fact, he's always been a martial artist first, actor second. This is him training way back when.
Master Jet Li is showing the real stuff here, what traditional martial arts emphasize. A huge population love martial arts trainings (but not everyone can go to competitions) that include power, speed, kicking, punch, stamina, defense, routines, and all sorts of trainings to achieve the ability of breaking bricks (as shown by some Shaolin masters), one shot knockout power, and the ability to take hard hits at highest level ;-( Jet Li has been trained hard, very talented in martial arts.
yeah most people think Li is because of his movies, but check out his background. He's a 15 time Wushu gold medalist champion, 1 silver medal, and performed at the white house for nixon, and that was only when he was a kid

@brnsktingdieskting18 that is called "thousand layers of paper". It's one of the basic wushu skills that trains ur speed, strength and eye power. If u master it ur attacks will not miss ur opponents and ur strikes will be "as fast as lightning".

actually, the origin of shaolin kung fu starts out with a Buddhist monk from Southern India teaching the shaolin monks how to defend themselves against marauders using martial art. So you can say that it did start from india. and to correct you, there are literally dozens of martial art forms from India, but not as popular or commercialized as "kung fu" or karate. He's got nothing on Jackie Chan......he cannot do acrobatics

I agree.👍
Bruce lee is faster than jet li

the part with the soccer balls was pretty amazing
The sequence with the balls was amazing!!! Do not mess with Jet Li!!

I'd have to disagree there. He's definitely a warrior. A lover is just another name for a puss.
